I rarely post negative reviews, but Coffee Rani in Mandeville fell short. Ordered a side of fruit with my lunch and got 3 grapes (2 moldy), 1 strawberry, and a tiny slice of orange. SERIOUSLY?!?!? Do better!!!

I didn't have the greatest experience here for my first time. I came here on a Sunday morning during Labor Day weekend. We gave ourselves an hour and a half, enough time to eat and get to our next planned and scheduled event that day. So, we weren't in a rush. We get in the quickly moving line to order our food at the counter. I order a salmon bagel and the hubs ordered a meatball ciabatta. We sit down and I noticed it is a very busy place. It is a very large place and I noticed how clean everything was and how efficient all the workers were at getting the food out. One after the other, food was coming out like an assembly line and the food looked good, too. But the assembly line apparently stopped, no orders were coming out, and we waited about 20 or 25 minutes. At least we had our drinks because it is a counter service type establishment. We noticed stacks and stacks of 'to go' orders were being placed in the counter area. After nearly 35 or 40 minutes we get our food. Some guy had ordered a 'football teams' worth amount of food. So, although it was not the restaurant's fault, it was frustrating the timing that our order was f course put in right after the guy that ordered 20 dishes. I get my bagel to try to eat quickly, since now we are in a little bit of a rush. And the bagel couldn't have been more complicated to eat. I just wanted a complete lox bagel but it was a deconstructed bagel where I had to put the thing together. I would have enjoyed the meal a little better had my bagel been properly served, like for example, the way Flour Moon serves their bagels to customers. I don't know if we will be back because I rarely visit the Northshore, this was a special occasion. I guess if I do come back, I would like to try one or two of the desserts from the case. Those looked really good.

My go to for crawfish monica! You truly can't beat it. The Parmesan on top is like a cherry on top of ice cream, sooo delicious! Coffee rani never fails to impress. It's always clean, the service is good, and they offer a great variety. I like to browse their desserts too. A great, casual spot for anytime of day!

Nothing beats a coffee rani salad!!! This place has been a favorite of mine for years. I dream about the chicken pesto salad with the pasta in it. Also I love the homemade lemonade. It's not too sweet and so refreshing. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. It's always busy, but usually pretty quick to find a space to sit down. Love this place for a good lunch.

Now this is a spot that deserves the spotlight! Around 7pm on a Saturday night a friend and I were in need of a bite to eat, that included a sweet treat! My friend called to confirm that they had a Lemon dessert. Brittney confirmed they had one slice left. She agreed to save it for us. Upon arrival, we asked for Brittney and let her know we called about the lemon dessert. She went and grabbed it for us. She had a note on it that read " Reserved for special VIP guest!" Brittney knows how to make a customer feel special! Now this was just the start of the amazing customer service! Brittney had an amazing personality. She was engaging and offered suggestions for meals. Not only did she offer suggestions/ she gave detailed descriptions of the items. I opted to try the mushroom burger exactly the way she suggested it. My friend ordered the pesto crusted chicken sandwich. For dessert we had the pistachio cake and the lemon leche. We ordered everything to go since they were about to close. However, the place is so cute and I. Look forward to returning and having a dine in experience. Now, let's get to the good part!!! The food was AMAZING! Everything was prepared to ordered, with fresh ingredients and was Delicious! If you're nearby, I definitely recommend checking this place out! It's worth your time, and you won't regret it.

It's my second review of this place and, once again, a phenomenal dining experience. The Fig, Apple, Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese sandwich was OFF THE HOOK. It was this perfect blend of savory and sweet, creamy cheese and perfectly crisp sandwich! Gotta try this one....!

Oh. My. Goodness! This place. The food, the service, the cleanliness, everything was amazing. This is a order at the window and the food will be brought to you type place. They had fantastic daily specials which I'm always a sucker for. And they place tons of paper table liners on the table so you have a fresh and clean surface when you're seated. I ordered the Cra Cra daily special which was a salad with salmon, dried cranberries, goat cheese, almonds and an amazing homemade poppyseed dressing. It was out of this world! To drink I ordered the rosemary cucumber lemonade and was wowed by the flavor! This place is a must try!!!

After visiting EWC located in the same mall, I stopped in for lunch at Coffee Rani's Mandeville location. This is one of the few places in town that actually serves a variety of craft salads and that was exactly what I needed. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Salad and it was excellent. Although I didn't really taste the jerk seasoning come through, the dressing was the perfect balance of sweet and savory and complimented the variety of fruit, vegetables and proteins in the salad. While I came here for the salad, the soup specials caught my eye and I ordered a cup of their mushroom soup as well. The soup was similar to a bisque with creamy consistency and slight sherry sweetness? The cup was massive, so maybe next time I will have to just share this or order it alone. I paired it all with an iced tea. This location's food remained consistent, fresh and was served by friendly staff alongside friendly patrons.

The north shore has a lot to offer, but one of the things that is difficult to compete with is service. Coffee rani, especially this Mandeville location, has the best service. The food is fantastic and always always always tastes fresh. It's very busy all the time and yet no one gets upset or tries to rush you. The restaurant and bathroom is always clean, although I wish they had a bigger bathroom, even though it is always busy. Every time I come, I get something different and I have yet to be disappointed. The turkey cranberry sandwich is amazing too! Love this place, the food, the desserts, and especially the staff!!! read more

We had a disappointing dining experience at Coffee Rani, Mandeville the other evening. Disappointing not because of the food (it's always good) or the service (always friendly and attentive) but because of its latest business practices. Raising prices and not posting those prices for Daily Specials and other selections is deceitful, if not downright unethical, especially for customers that must queue up, oftentimes in long lines, to order their food. Same for the wine: Splits are a nice option; even more preferable to wine-by-the-glass, but not when the purpose is to disguise outrageous prices for average quality selections, once again, unaccompanied by posted prices. If the owners of Coffee Rani hope to keep their loyal following they should re-consider these new business practices. Meanwhile, we will be out sampling the overwhelming number of other dining options in the area. read more

Coffee Rani (Mandeville location) is by far the best lunch spot on the north shore. Service is friendly, and the food never disappoints. Salads are awesome, burgers are awesome, Meatball Ciabatta is my favorite, chicken salad sandwich is great, and even the Quesadillas are fantastic. This place offers just about anything you can think of. I would definitely recommend Coffee Rani (Mandeville location) to anyone looking for a great lunch. read more

My wife and I have been regulars at Coffee Rani for ten years. They have a great breakfast menu, the best salads on the North Shore and luscious desserts. You order at the the counter, get a number, and grab a table or booth. The kitchen works like a well-oiled machine. Arrive before 11:30 for lunch, as the ordering line can become long. read more

Great sandwiches and salads; my favorite is the chicken salad on croissant. Desserts are killer but a bit price-y. Nice atmosphere, although it gets very noisy at peak times. They need to stop letting people park in the street next to the sidewalk directly outside the door. It's part of the driving area, not the parking lot, and parked cars hinder the flow of traffic. read more

Coffee Rani has the best salads hands down. Also, their chicken quesadillas come with a honey lemon dressing on the side that is absolutely perfect. It's always crowded so it can be hard to get a seat. I don't really care for the whole stand in line to order and then go find a seat somewhere but the food is so good it doesn't even matter. I also don't know why their bread is so delicious but luckily they let you throw a bunch in a to go bag so you can go home and shamelessly eat all of it. Everything here is just yummy. read more

Everything is amazing! The atmosphere is nice, a fun cafe with amazing staff! They couldn't be nicer! Clean, welcoming, comfortable. Literally everything on the menu is an instant favorite. The anniversary turkey melt, Mediterranean veggie sandwich, pest crusted chicken, and strawberry blue cheese salad are perfection. The desserts are divine!!! Cheesecake imported from New York, heavenly strawberry shortcake, lemon bars that will knock you over! You can't go wrong with anything here. A must for everyone! read more

Placed large ($450) order for a school function. Was assured that there would be plenty of food; there absolutely was not. The quality of the food was quite low, including the lettuce was old and brown, shrimp salads had extremely few shrimp, etc. Bread and butter was to be provided; we were told sorry but their "bread man" hadn't come. No refund was given. We called to discuss our unhappiness about the entire matter with management and no one would get on the phone. We put all the food back in bags as the quality was not good enough to serve. So I guess we are just out $450 as well as we were lied to. At that point, we contacted another local restaurant, who was able to provide replacements for the meal and went above expectations. Will NEVER use or refer anyone to Cafe Rani. Actually, we are so angry about this matter and our teachers getting hurt that we're going to spend the day searching for websites to post this bad review on. read more

The fried artichoke was good but maybe serve it with marinara instead of that ranch dip sauce. We had the chicken parm pasta. I have had better chicken parm out of a Stouffer's box. The chicken tasted like it had been frozen, the flavor was not good. And try draining the pasta before you plate the food. The whole meal was floating water as you can see from my picture. Maybe I'd go back to try the gelato but this was truly the worst chicken parm I ever had.

Continual disappointment continues. But of course your friends and family want it so you drudge along. The toast was BURNT. ...burnt. The sandwich was smashed or maybe it was just underwhelmingly dressed with hardly ANYTHING. Look at it. It's a terribly pathetic sandwich. And burnt-- HAHA!! How can you send this out!? Who is managing this kitchen???? There wasn't enough meat to even cover the area of the sandwich. The cheese was barely noticeable (the main reason I got the item!) the sauce was nice and sweet though. But why am I praising the sauce? That's sad, Rani. I got one sad piece of okra. Is this a joke? How about if not a full pickle spear for your digestion-assisting side give us a FEW pieces of okra. You're charging high prices so why not be highly giving? Potato salad wasn't that bad! I think it had meat in it? Couldn't tell. But a nice subtle flavor. I enjoy tame potato salad and this was a decent one. We got a slice of the coconut cake. That was really good! Flavor and softness and presentation. All Impressive. Hooray something went right with this 70$ lunch (nosebleed). My other family member ordered a 20$ salad and chose it because the toppings offered. Either said toppings didn't arrive with the salad or there was a very sad amount given. So sparing with their presentation and allowance of what they promise in the menu description. Coffee Rani has been consistent. Consistently bad. Stingy with their delivery. High costs and they continue to rise-- of course. How about Coffee Stingy. That's more like it. However, it's fashionable to eat there and it draws the wealthy mandeville women like upper scale perfume and purses. Except this restaurant isn't up scale. It draws you in, promises much, and disappoints on multiple levels. Have some pride in your work and deliver better. Don't hold back on your paying customers. You certainly don't hold back when digging in their wallets. YIKES. Your menu isn't bad. The food is alright with flavor and selection. It's just the cost and delivery of promised dishes are so lopsided it encourages bad reviews like this. I know I'll get dragged along again because someone in my party will desire to go here again. I just hope management see these scathing reviews, I noticed mine isn't the only one, and DOES SOMETHING about them beside empty apologies and offers of a free coffee (highly doubt it). What a joke. Revamp, rehire, shift some things around. You're in Mandeville for crying out loud. Otherwise, lower your prices. At least that way we'll actually 'PAY for WHAT WE'RE GETTING'. read more

I order Coffee Rani at least once a week. It's one of the best options on the Northshore for fresh, healthy food with great flavor. The breakfast and lunch menus both have plenty of options to satisfy even the picky eaters. I've never been disappointed in my meal or service and am thankful they have continued to provide excellent food and service during the pandemic. read more

I found it very unsettling that during a State mandated " face mask" requirement, not one staff member at the Mandeville location was wearing a mask nor was the mask requirement for patrons being enforced as well. None of us like wearing the mask, but be a team player and mask up people. A mandate is considered a law. I will not be back. read more

Coffee Rani really knows how to make a great cup! I had an excellent coffee and a delicious, fresh sandwich. Their menu has so many good options, from hearty breakfasts to healthy salads. My absolute favorite place! This is where I bring people when they come visit because it has something for everyone, and seriously EVERYTHING on the menu is so melt in your mouth good. You can't go wrong! My favorites are the Turkey with Cranberry sandwich and the Tuscan chicken. So good! read more

EVERYTHING is delish! Always super busy at lunch time though, so go early or late or you may have to take it to go. Free bread and butter is amazing. Large portions so you always have leftovers. Flavored teas are my fav! read more
