Well, it's about time. I think I just died and went to hog heaven. The North Shore, Louisiana for that matter finally has a real honest to goodness Texas style barbecue joint where the ribs are fall off the bone delicious great sauces the brisket when we were there, today was very tender if not a little bit dry the baked beans or some of the best I have ever had and we lived in Houston for 15 years so we tried every barbecue place we could find in Texas. In fact this place smells like Texas that's the best compliment. I can actually give them wait until you see the barbecue pit oh my God it's like I just got back from Lockhart Texas where they invented barbecue. The only thing I think they really need to work on is coleslaw. It was very fresh veggies cut nicely but no flavor so get the coleslaw. Food is as good as everyone says it is. The brisket is just like I had in Texas. The loaded potatoes were filled and stuffed just right. Wish they sold 1/4 pound options for bulk meat purchases and not just 1/2 pound only option. That is a lot of food but well worth it for left some overs. read more

Went here yesterday and picked up lunch for my family of 7 after church. We got to try the ribs, pork belly tacos, brisket tacos, pulled pork tacos, Mac and cheese with pulled pork, and the baby back ribs. Everything was delicious, tender and juicy! I didn't know what the searing situation was as it it was raining, but I just brought it home. We had enough food for lunch, dinner and still had left overs! While the food is pretty good I had a minor problem with the brisket and three bites of fat, they made it good by replacing it the next day and I learned that some people like a lot of fat in their brisket. Ask for lean brisket to hopefully avoid that. read more

You know it is going to be good when you catch a whiff of that wonderful smoky smell of slow cooked meat that is done right the moment you open your car door. I ordered the chopped brisket and let me tell you I could not wait to get home to try it. I couldn't stop sneaking bites as I drove. It is incredible. Definitely the best BBQ on the northshore. The coleslaw and pit beans were also good. You order takeout at the window, because there is no indoor seating. Even though it was cold and raining that day, it was worth waiting on the deck while they put my order together. While I waited I got to meet Brek, the owner. He is such a nice guy and a second generation Navy Seal. I love supporting local businesses and veteran's so I will definitely be back. This is a newer business but the bbq is delicious. They were a little busy when I went but the food was worth the wait.

I was told this place had really good sliced brisket, so I dropped by recently and, boy was I disappointed...i wanted to try a half pound of said brisket, but they had a one pound minimum. For $20 after tax. I got a few sides as well and waited in the blazing sun for almost half an hour. When I got home, my digital kitchen scale showed me getting 14.3 ounces instead of the pound I paid for. Bad omen,.. the meat was absolutely terrible in every way. It looked dry and leathery rather than moist and succulent and there wasn't a whiff of good bbq wood smoke, like they'd cooked it in an overheated electric oven. It was tough, overcooked and completely dark brown and inedible. My mother-in-law makes better brisket and she can barely make toast! They gave me about two tablespoons of sauce for the 14.3oz pound of leather, no bread, pickles or wet naps. The slaw and Mac and cheese were pretty good but man cannot live on slaw alone.
