I went to Claudia for my eyebrows, and it was life changing!!! She is absolutely phenomenal at what she does--brow shaping, brow lamination, brow tinting, Korean lash lifts, lash tinting, and dermaplane facials. I've tried everything she offers except tinting, and all I have to say is that She is amazing at what she does. My eyebrows used to have no real shape--just bushy, unruly, and thinning hair toward the ends. I had no idea how much of a difference brows could make until Claudia worked her magic. The combination of lamination and shaping completely transformed me. I looked and felt more polished, more awake, and more youthful. She has a unique ability to create the perfectly shaped brows for you based on the natural structure of your face--aligning them perfectly with your eyes and nose creating the most flattering shape possible. Capriece gives my hair life every time and I love it! I went in with really bad split ends, uneven length from the breakage and just really lifeless hair. My bangs were heavy and I hated it. Looking to keep as much length as possible while dropping more layers to fluff it up and that's exactly what he gave me - yay! Hair looks so much healthier now. Caesar (spelling?) was awesome! Genuine, sincere and personable, which made him easier to trust - which meant a lot for me because 1) I've been on a search to find a new stylist, 2) I haven't had my hair cut in over a year, and 3) I've been moving around a lot, so hopping around trying out and allowing various different hairdressers to play with my hair is not my ultimate favorite thing. Aside from his great personality, he did with my hair exactly what I was looking for without trying to tell me what I wanted wouldn't look all that great or compromising. Then again I don't believe I had a complicated request: layers to add body but keep the length to where it still manages to be healthy. He added perspective by saying if we were talking about health, an inch or two more may be better, but I was open to perspective. Sure, I'm picky, but I still care about the vitality of my hair. What's funny is, I had a friend recommend me to another salon in the same building but the salon couldn't take me in as a walk-in and told me the building was full of salons. I walked up one floor and they said no. So I walked up one more floor above that one, and saw Desiree (who, through doing some research while sitting in the lounge, I found out was one of the artists, and also gave me great advice and insight on what would be great for my hair) at the front. She acceptedCOH is an open, bright (salon is walled with windows), and friendly high-end salon. I already booked a consultation to discuss the color in my hair. I followed a stylist here from a salon down the street. I thought I had a great relationship with this stylist before our last interaction. This person with somebody I considered a friend. Before I scheduled my appointment I texted and asked if a trim would be enough time and was told yes. Based on that text, I scheduled time for a trim. I got to the salon early and invited the stylist out for coffee because we hadn't seen each other in a while and this was a regular occurrence for us So we went out and I treated this person to an expensive coffee and we chit chatted about for half an hour about mutual friends and went back to the salon for my cut. After starting on my hair this person suddenly looked at their watch and told me that I had to leave because they had another client coming in. At first I thought this was a joke and I started laughing. I said you're not really kicking me out for another client are you and they said "yes, I am" I don't know if the fact that I was also a friend means that I'm less of a client but I was extremely upset and embarrassed that I was asked to leave. Worse! this person had trimmed half my hair but not the other half. I looked like an asymmetrical fright!! Not only that this person refused to let me reschedule and correct my hair I was forced to go to somebody who made a bad situation even worse because it's hard for another stylist to fix mistakes. Six months later my hair still looks like crap and I'm still very very hurt I've never received an apology and of course I've never been back. Unless you want to feel like a second-class citizen I would avoid this place like the plague, and if you do go you'll be treated like you do have the plague. No win situation; Hopefully somebody else can learn from my naïveté read more

Edward is a magician. I was the WORST new client possible. I came in still drunk from the night before's Halloween festivities, plunked myself in his chair and said "do whatever". Despite the fact that I smelled like a brewery and was extremely unhelpful in my styling requests, Edward gave me the perfect haircut. It is a great length, super healthy and modern looking, and SOMEHOW despite me providing no descriptors about my style, it suits me perfectly. I tend to swing from androgynous to feminine styles and the haircut I have now fits really well with my personality. He's also super sweet, charismatic and funny so the whole haircut I felt like I was chatting with a lifelong friend. He clearly is dedicated to his craft and is a master at it. It's hard for me to trust new people with my hair from bad experiences in the past, but my faith is restored! Edward will be my one and only as long as I'm in the bay! (Sorry Edward) read more

I highly recommend Nikolai Datsko; he will be my go to stylist from now on. Caprice (who cut by hair in the past) was booked and told me that Nikolai is amazing--and he was right! Nikolai listened to what I wanted and made some recommendations which were truly beneficial. I don't enjoy spending a lot of time styling my hair. The cut Nikolai gave me requires little effort on my part and yet is perfect. I spent the last few days out at the beach and in the wind. All I had to do was run a brush through my hair and I was good to go. Not only is Nikolai an artist and a perfectionist, he is a genuinely kind person. Although I drive in from Marin, going to COH salon (BTW which has a calm, classy atmosphere) and having Nikolai Datsko cut my hair is truly worth my time and money. I'm so happy with my hair! Post covid shutdown review, this time I went in for myself and boy was I glad I did. Capriece cut my hair after I can't even remember how long. I never know what to do and other than I want it shoulder length I really didn't have any helpful input. I *love* my cut. The salon is bright and airy. I wish I could give 100 stars to Cesar Oliva! My hair was very damaged, dry, with tons of split ends (wavy and long hair). Cesar cut my hair perfectly to my face and some how magically turned my hair into smooth, silky amazingness! 4 days after the haircut and I can't stop touching this silky hair. In addition, complements keep flowing in about the cut itself!! I hope he never leaves SF because this is the first time in 6 years I've found such a talented hair dresser that can turn my unruly hair into pure gold! Capriece is an amazing artist. I followed him to COH from Patrick Evan salon. I've never been fussy about haircuts as I usually do a long cut but cuts with Capriece make a difference. He has great attention to detail and cuts hair in a way that looks good, even as it grows out. The downside (for him) is that because it continues to look good, I don't need to go back as often! I recently changed it up from a long cut to a medium cut and Capriece is once again ON POINT. COH has really cool interior and has the coolest music. If you have anything less than already perfect hair, stay away from this place. I'm Indian/African with curly, frizzy, dry hair and I came to the COH Salon in February for a keratin smoothing treatment based on all the really great reviews I read online. Due to the nature of my hair, I get keratin treatments often, this wasn't my first rodeo. But, to keep a long, potentially really damning story short, the stylist, Cesar, who did my treatment did it incorrectly. Not only did the keratin treatment not work but what has ensued since then has been even worst. After 3 months of going back and forth over email with Cesar and Capriece, not only have I not been given a full refund, but Cesar resorted to victimizing himself to justify not giving me my money back. Capriece also hasn't been any better as the business owner, claiming that the COH Salon is a collective so he bears no responsibility for the business of his stylists. I'm writing this review not because I want to, but because I have to. I'm now out half the cost of a VERY EXPENSIVE treatment, only to have to pay someone else, again to do it correctly. Yes, times are tough with Covid but there's no excuse for poor, if not downright terrible customer service. This all could have been very easily solved, but alas, here we are. read more
