Worst optical office I've been at. Told me my glasses would take 3 weeks to be delivered and it actually took 2 months. Besides that the glasses were delivered with the wrong prescription. In what world is it normal to see worse with glasses than without them? Plus the customer service is horrible and they close earlier than what it says in their office hours. If you planning on visiting here I suggest you save your time and money. It's not worth coming to this place. read more

How unprofessional! We came for both a glasses and contact prescription. Ordered glasses from another vendor. Tried to get contacts, turns out the prescription was incomplete! Went back to Cohen's for a complete prescription. They gave us a new one. Now just tried to order contacts with this new paper and they tell me it's not an official prescription. Why would I be given anything that isn't official!?! Oh I know because they originally tried to get me to pay $800 worth of contacts and when I try to go somewhere else , they made it hard for me!!! Queens Center Mall- The price for a pair of eyeglasses and frame is very expensive! I got my daughter a pair with anti-glare and Champions frame for $600+. Because I have an insurance and a $275 credit for teacher's benefit, I paid $300+. The woman who assisted us was very sarcastic and made insulting comments. Ive gotten my eyeglasses here a handful of times and they were great before but after a year of covid I can no longer afford to pay $1000 eyeglasses but I lost the ones I had and after getting a check up I decided to get new ones. The Optometrist there is great. The lady named Veronica was extremely helpful --UP UNTIL I came back and asked for an itemized recipient hoping to get the same frames elsewhere. I was told my glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. I called 2 weeks later they promised me next Monday. I called again then they told me my glasses would be ready next Saturday. So after 4 weeks I still don't have my glasses yet. I don't know when it will be ready. read more

I have been to many other stores for my eyeglasses and this store was one of the best! Yes it's pretty pricey, but keep in mind it's a business located in a high volume mall in Queens (probably the largest mall in queens). They probably have to pay rent, electricity, not only that but their customer service to me is top notch:) It was most likely worth the price I paid cause they were friendly and professional. (Also cause the sales ladies picked out the hottest pair of glasses i have ever had!) I walked into Cohens with a Groupon deal that saved me about $300:) I knew the style I wanted so I asked Stephanie if she can match me with cat eye frames. After trying many of them on..the last pair she had me try on were these gorgeous black frames. I immediately was sold on these frames. So she placed them in a box for me while i got my eye exam. My eye exam was quick and thorough. The doctor answered all my questions. Such a smart and professional person. I get back to the frames section and try the black frames again. A sales person kept asking me if I wanted to do a financing plan, I kept politely declining but after being asked a 4th time.. i got unnerved. I replied that I wanted to pay in full that same day. And yet the sales person proceeded to ask me again and again about the plan:/ Then Tsiala came to me and she wanted to show me the other colors of the same frames. She had me try on the dark brown version of the frames and I was sold even more. They made my face brighter! I loved it! The color of the frames totally lightened my face up!!! And i had a groupon deal so they were 300 bucks off! Designer frames as well So the next part was waiting for my glasses to come in (i ended up getting 2 pairs buttt my fave were the brown ones) i dealt with optician Bill and I can tell he was an efficient, professional person. He was the one who adjusted my glasses for me and activated my transition lenses. *after switching to transition lenses..I will never go back to normal lenses (so much more comfortable)* Bill answered all my questions and gave me tips for eyeglasses care:) I was very pleased. I put on my Ferragamo glasses,looked in the mirror and thought to myself..I have never had glasses like these before, theyre so cuteeeee! The sales ladies Tsiala and Stephanie were so lovely, they both wore glasses that were unique and fit their personalities also in helping me find these cute glasses. I was very lucky to encounter manager Carol once again she remembered me and told me what can be done in replacing glass in the glasses and tighten screws. Bill who I remembered from before gave me a nice greeting saw what my situation was and told me to come back in about half an hour.. This being the Mall,I went right to the food court ate and came back to fixed glasses thanks to Bill... I paid what I owed (not an outrageous price,,very very fair) and said goodbye to Bill & Carol,and as I was leaving Bill told me to come back anytime if I needed repairs done to my glasses....Very nice staff there...Very nice.... read more

When buying glasses you have three options. A warehouse store like Costco, a private doctors office and a chain like Cohen's. I believe you use a place like Cohen's for the convenience, selection and customer service. Staff here was attentive. They made sure my frames could accommodate the "coke bottle" lenses I required, took the time to show me a wide range of frames, took the proper measurements for my progressive lenses and finally that i got the proper receipts to get reimbursed. However, I felt the prices are inflated and I also got that "sales" pressure to buy a back up pair. Mixed feelings about the overall experience. read more

I came here two years ago and had a great experience where I purchased Tom Ford lenses and a year's supply of daily contacts. Today, I went back with a Groupon deal and left completely satisfied. From the moment I walked in, Joseline greeted me and took care of me. She is GREAT!!! Helped me pick out TWO AMAZING FRAMES that I can not wait to wear. If I could, I would hire her to be my personal stylist- she is honest about what looks great on you and what does not. She's wonderful!. The doctor who did my eye exam was an older gentle man. I was a bit nervous at first because he was a bit shaky with his hands but he knows what hes doing. I was just trying to book an appointment bc I recently purchased a Groupon for an eye checkup and $300 off on frames. I was tired from work and I look so wasted but Jennifer/Yennifer assisted me right away even without me asking for it. I told her not to show me expensive ones bc Im on a budget. Everything she made me try are within my preferences and I thought she was giving the expensive ones so she could get good sales from me but I was wrong. She gave me honest opinions. I love her. I ended up getting an eye checkup and a very good transition eyeglasses. She also recommended me the financial payment so I wont have to pay out of the pocket that time. This is my first visit to Cohen's Optical and what an incredible experience from start to finish. My husband was there the day before and said exactly the same thing. Every member of staff there are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and provided fantastic customer service with no hard sell and working out the best deals for you. Gaby was superb and spent time showing me many frames and gave an honest opinion on them which I appreciated the time and effort she put into helping me. Three pairs of new glasses ordered between us and could not be happier and would not think of going anywhere else now for vision needs. Horrible service!!!! I was told my daughters lenses would be ready in a few days and they will call me, no call and I had to call several times for the next 2 weeks !!!! When I take my daughter in to finally get her new lenses they tell me it will take over an hour!!!! I express my concern to one of the saleswoman and she flat out tells me "well I can have it processed or waste time talking to you" I asked for the manager and she told me they will be cutting the lenses now and it will take 45 minutes. On April 21 2018 around 8:15 PM I walked into the Queens Center branch of Cohen, and walked out of the store less than 45 minutes later with a complete eye exam, improved vision with a new pair of frames and an order for a rimless pair which would be completed within a day or two. As I was leaving on a trip the following day, the team worked quickly and professionally to ensure that I could leave the store with a new pair of glasses as I requested. I was very impress by the efficiency of the team and the stellar service. Diana's fashion since and astute customer focus service was spot on. Within 3 choices she got a pair that I was absolutely happy with, with a little input of the style I was going for. Junior worked some magic in getting lenses crafted and fitted to new frames in what seemed like 5 minutes (no exaggeration), the optomotrist and his team performed a thorough exam and answered all my questions clearly. This was all done without feeling as though I was being rushed through the process. I must say this was a much better experience than my previous visits to Cohen many years ago. I never leave reviews but I must for this. Not the greatest experience. First I was never told I had to pay an exam fee until after I was seen by the doctor. I was under the impression that the exam fee was covered by my insurance. The guy then calls me after the exam to tell me I owe them $90 for the exam. This was mid June. The contact I got weren't the right fit for my eyes. I saw blurry with almost all of them and had to go through multiple brands in order to find one that wouldn't be blurry since my eye shape is weird. The doctor was very understanding and helpful but the sales team wasn't much help. I went back a few times after the doctor had finally given me a good brand that I could see with. July 11th Turns out the front desk ordered the wrong one and I had to wait until the correct lenses came in. 2 weeks later on July 23rd I ran out of trials and called in to find out about my order. My order never arrived. And they lied about it too. They said they couldn't give me anymore trials and pretty much dismissed me and said to wait until the order came in. The girl who saw me said if you want trials you need to pay for another exam and get seen by the doctor and pay $180 for the exam to get more trials. Which was BS. They just didn't want to give me trials because they had given me already but not my fault they never placed the order. Due to my line of work I needed them asap. I went on 1800 contacts online and order 2 boxes with overnight shipping for way less then what they charged at cohens. 2 days later Cohen's calls me saying my order was ready for pick up. When I picked up my contacts this week i looked at my file where I'm supposed to sign for the pick up. They never ordered the contacts from 2 weeks prior which is why they never received them. They only ordered them after I went in to complain that it had been 2 weeks and I had ran out of trials. From June 15th to July 26th Over a month going back and forth for contacts and no help from the team in the front. It was very frustrating not to mention how expensive they are. I only went there because my teachers benefit was supposed to cover part of the cost. read more

So I patiently waited and was sold these very nice name brand frames from the display that was slightly bent but was told that it would get fixed by the time they get picked up. Well I couldn't go personally to pick up my glasses so my boyfriend did. Sure enough, it was still bent. I'm so upset it's obvious how uneven it is, you'd think they'd notice. Day, Date & Time of the call: Thursday March 30, 2017 10:15am. I called to see if my trial-contact lens are in. I got my eyes checked with them last month and the prescriptions I got was not really working for me. Last Sunday, I went in to see the doctor again and he asked me to try new prescriptions but they were out of the prescriptions I needed so they asked me to call back on Wednesday -which is today- to see if the trial-lens would be ready for pick-up after they put the order in. I called and got yelled at -whoever picked up the phone said I couldn't keep asking for more trial pairs. Hello .. I didn't keep asking for free pairs. I already spent $800 on the whole year supplies for contact lens in which I got a wrong prescriptions for. And another $800 for extra pair of glasses which is also with the wrong prescriptions. I don't think I deserved to hear the phone slammed down and being yelled at. If you don't have a service mind to take care of your customers, please find another job that might suit you better. I did not have the best experience for two main reasons. First, some salesmen do not know what they are selling. I wear progressive lenses so they are always super expensive. There is a about a dozen options for lens upgrades, and the lady who was processing my order did not know what those options were. She offered me anti-reflective coating and and option for thinner lens, which I appreciate, however, there's a number of other options that she could not describe. She said "i don't know what those are for". Mind you, if I'm going to pay $600+ for my glasses, I have to be darn sure I'm choosing the best combination for my eyes. If there were something that could benefit my eyes, I would've liked to know what those options are... Second, the frame that was given to me came from the display, where everyone comes to try them on. Of course they are not perfectly straight, after dozens of people trying them on, they're going to have a little warp in them. And if you a glasses-wearer, you know how difficult it is to straighten the glasses after it has been bent or warped, and you know that it makes night-and-day difference if you glasses are straight or not. I will not be coming back to Cohen Optical. Going back to LensCrafters. read more

The people here are so cold. From the doctor to the people working behind the counter. They had absolutely no bedside manner (assuming you get some bedside manner at an optometrist). I went to get an eye exam with the $20 coupon. I was a walk-in and they took me right away. When I walked into the exam room, I kindly asked the woman if I can take my contacts out..she barked "I thought you did that already!" No, I was sitting in a mall with 50 other people around me, I'd rather not dig my dirty fingers into my eye at that moment. After she did the preliminary check, the doctor called me into his office and he was ice cold. He would cut me off when I would describe certain eye conditions, he had no outside conversation. It seemed as if he hated his job as much as I hated sitting in his chair. The icing on the cake for me is when I finally finished dealing with the nastiness in this establishment and I was told my lenses would cost $475!!! WHAT? After almost falling out my chair, they then offered me another option for $250. WHY wasn't offered that option in the first place? Ugh. I didn't even bother filling my prescription with them. My husband and I made an appointment for 730p on 2.10.12. He was planning on getting contacts and I was going with glasses. The Optometrist was excellent. The exams were quick but thorough and the doc had great bedside manner. Glasses and Contacts are basically separate entities at this Cohen's (located on the second floor of the Queens Center Mall). My husband was escorted to a different part of the store and after he return he was quite happy with how things went with the exam, fitting of contacts and price. I on the other hand was not so pleased with the sales staff at the glasses counter. I'm assuming that the sales staff is commissioned but don't hold me to that because I don't know for a fact that they are but the saleswoman who was designated to "assist" me was seriously a fan of the "hard sell". Any time I feel like someone is pushing a sale on me I immediately red flag the idea of buying whatever they are selling. I wear glasses everyday. I cannot function without them. Since this is the case I have no issue spending more money on them because they are on my face all the time (with the exception of sleeping. Although I have been known to fall asleep with them on). Despite the fact that this place has a pretty large selection, I was not given the opportunity to go through and really find what I wanted. The saleswoman would pull out 4-5 frames; I would try them on; tell her that I was looking for something with a bit of a rectangle shape to them; she would sigh and then pull out 2 or 3 more from another case. After doing this 2 times I just started pointing out frames that I wanted to try. She obliged but then would walk away and start doing some sort of paperwork after giving me the frames. Then I would try to get her attention so that I could try on another pair and she would nod say that she would be over in a sec and then I'd wait about 5m until she returned. The only reason I stayed and continued this charade was because my husband was still working on finding the right contacts so I had some time to kill. But after another 20(ish) minutes of this annoying back and forth I decided to call it quits. I told her that I'm not finding anything and that I don't want to rush into getting a pair of specs just because they are in front of me. She was visibly annoyed. She tried again at selling me on a pair of Micheal Kors frames that I told her during our first go around wasn't my style. I told her that I didn't want them and that I would like to pay for my eye exam and get a copy of my prescription. I had to ask for the prescription 4 times before she would finally give it to me. That's totally ridiculous and unprofessional. I'm glad my husband had a good experience. So I guess the folks that work over in the contacts division are good at their jobs but I would pass on getting glasses at this place. It's a pity, because the doc was excellent. read more

I was feeling pretty confident and had avoided night time driving due to my poor vision lol - so I went for an evening drive.
