My favorite place to go to in Old Town!!! I usually go during the evenings and weekends mainly but I brought my family during the day and was amazed at how family friendly it was. The kids were entertained with the games and the staff were so quick to offer us chairs, sauces, etc. I'm used to cramped bars and mean bartenders but the staff and service here are always top tier. Janel is my go to bartender and I never get disappointed with anything she recommends! Also a big fan of the deep fried pickles with spicy ranch and getting the slice of the week! read more

I was fooled by what I thought was a cool and bustling bar, but the substance did not match the surface. My biggest complaint is that the arcade games, which are supposed to be the central feature of the bar, are virtually all broken: The basketball game doesn't keep score, the skee ball machine eats quarters, the Mortal Kombat game's buttons don't work, and the racing car game screens lag like a 90s computer trying to download an image over a dial-up modem. I might have been willing to stomach the over-priced costs of the arcade games if the machines at least worked, but dumping in a dollar for something that's broken is just an extra slap on the face. Also, the bathrooms are disgusting! I know an evening of fun-seeking drunks doesn't lend itself towards cleanliness, but that's tall the more reason for the staff to keep an eye on things. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

In case you guys didn't know, I'm a long time gamer... (since the NES). I found a classic arcade bar (Coin-Op), located in Old Town Temecula. It's a 21+ arcade and bar. I walk inside to play some classic game while those kiddos at home (in general) are too busy playing some lame M Rated games. That means no kids allowed in this joint. They have some of the classic games like skee ball, mortal kombat, street fighter, pac-man, and more. I've played plenty of skee ball... it takes me back over 25 years ago. Those were a good times. Played some other games too. I can't remember how much money I've spent playing these games. Before I left for a almost hour and a half drive back home, I decided I need a nice cool cocktail. I got me a Space Jam. Bartender who made the drink did a amazing job and made it so delicious. I wish I got his name though. That's alright. He made my night worth a while. Drink is so darn good btw. Overall, if you're a gamer need some game time, or if you're a gamer with kids need some game time without bringing your kids along, this is your best bet. 5 stars. read more

One of mine & my boyfriend's favorite date spot. It can get over crowded on the weekends. But, Ty one of the bartenders makes custom drinks depending on what you are feeling like. The appetizers & food is not great, but if you are wanting a quick snack its not too bad. They have nostalgic arcades games, and pin balls games also. I've been to this place a couple times and it's always been good except for yesterday and all thanks to that big bearded bartender that I've heard complaints from in the past already. He was trying to, in his words, educate us in how to properly order a beer. I said I didn't come to a bar to get educated and just wanted a beer and plus my partner and I are not beer drinkers so I wasn't interested. He proceeds to make a smart ahh remark and says, "why did you order a beer then?". After that I told my partner alright we need to leave and he then tells my partner he's gonna "bless him" with a free beer. I couldn't believe it. We were feeling so good with positive vibes and he completely killed it for us. And for that reason I will NEVER go that place again sadly. read more

My friend and I stopped into Coin-Op after getting sangria nearby because we were ridiculously thirsty and just needed water. We probably looked like the weirdest customers ever walking up to the bar asking for... water The bartender (Shout out to Dash!!!) was unbelievably kind about it. He kept refilling our glasses (I think I went through four back-to-back), didn't make us feel awkward at all for not ordering drinks, and even surprised us with some fries and a dollar in change to play a game. We hadn't paid for anything -- he was just genuinely being generous and welcoming. It was such a small interaction but it honestly made our night. That kind of hospitality says a lot about the people working there and the atmosphere of the place. Coin-Op is lucky to have bartenders like him. read more

I've been coming here for years and this place never lets me down! I usually visit this bar 2-3 times a month, but during my visit last night on Halloween, one of the bartenders was extremely rude and aggressive. The tall male bartender-- you'll know who I'm referring to -- was yelling at guests and creating an uncomfortable environment. He was acting like someone who works at Karen's Diner or Dick's Last Resort--places where being rude is part of the experience--but Coin-Op is not that kind of establishment. That kind of behavior from a bartender is only going to lead to guests becoming upset or even violent. There is absolutely no reason for a bartender to be yelling at patrons who are consuming alcohol. This individual is a liability to the establishment. Hopefully on my next visit, this bartender is either no longer there or no longer behaving this way. read more

Coming to Coin-op Temecula after being to all the others is such a big environment change, and for good reason! The service here is phenomenal, and I have always left with a sense of "I can't wait to bring everyone here!" The laughter shared at this establishment is unreal and that is fully thanks to the staff... meaning yall have the coolest Bartenders in the area! Hands down! Came here for my cousin's 21st birthday party alongside my 23 year old brother. I've been to the one down in San Diego so I'm fairly familiar with the place. Everyone had their IDs checked and got in without issue until they got to my brother. The bouncer had to call over a man, who I believe was the manager of the place, and he decided that my brother's ID was fake. He held it hostage despite our insistence that it was a real California drivers license. He wouldn't even explain why he thought it was fake which made us extremely frustrated. He was just holding it without giving us an actual reason other than his personal opinion that it was fake. We even said that we would leave so long as they gave the ID back because we knew it was real and didn't want to cause further issue but they refused to give it back to us. In the commotion this, the manager started to go on a power trip, kicking out and trespassing members of our party as they were trying to question them about the reason his ID was being held. He just got to a point that he was yelling at everyone, even people who weren't saying anything. Unfortunately we had to call the cops and get them involved in order to get his ID back. They proved his ID was real (obviously) and the police had to be the ones to explain why they thought the ID was fake rather than the manager who was standing around like a dog with its tail between its legs at this point. I want to clarify that it was not the initial bouncer's fault, as he was just doing his job and was very kind to us about the whole thing. It was the "manager" (shorter white guy with short brown hair) that was going on a power trip and completely escalating the situation far more than it should've been. They did give my brother a free drink after they eventually let us into the bar, which was nice, but it was very obvious it was a move to save face with us so that we would go in and spend money. While we still did go in (angry as we were, we aren't crazy enough to turn down a free drink), the damage had already been done at that point and completely shifted the mood for the night. Reading some of the other reviews for this place, it seems like aggressive security and employees are an issue for this location... would recommend going to another bar in the area or making the trip to San Diego if you really want to go to coin-op. read more

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this bar! The bartender was incredibly friendly and made me feel so welcome. As a local resident of old town, I've been here numerous times, and this visit was by far the best. I was served promptly and efficiently. The bartender didn't waste any time and made sure everyone was taken care of. Even when he was engaged in conversations with other patrons, he always managed to multitask and attend to everyone's needs. It was refreshing to see such excellent service. What impressed me the most was the bartender's sense of humor and his ability to create a lively atmosphere. He engaged with the customers in a playful manner, making jokes and putting smiles on everyone's faces. His energy was contagious, and it made my evening so much more enjoyable. I'd like to share my unfortunate experience here at this establishment. My wife and I were having a wonderful date day in Old Town Temecula until it was spoiled by a questionable encounter. I purposely walked all the way from one end of Old Town Temecula to the other just to check this place out. We literally got there at the same time as I'm assuming the owners were arriving as they unlocked the doors to walk in. They turned and looked at me but didn't say a word. I looked up and saw the hours of operations and realized they weren't open. We then walked to the end of the business when my wife suggested we just sit at there outdoor seating. I initially second guessed but figured we weren't doing anything wrong. We were at the far end right at the gate. As we sat there a large group came and sat right in front of this business. We were just about to leave when one of the guys (owners?) walks up and says " you guys can't be here, we're closed. How did you get in here anyway? (It's open seating mind you) He tried to fix how rude he was by saying they needed to wipe down the tables. It was around 1:20pm and they opened at 2pm. The really sad thing is I didn't say a word, I'm unfortunately used to this. My wife who is Mexican and Puerto Rican has drawn a blind eye but due to recent events is starting to see this ugliness. As we walked away she said " that felt a little racist." I just smirked. In closing the group who was sitting in front was all white. I didn't see them being asked to leave. I'm African American. Make what you want of this. I myself won't ever step foot in nor spend a dime in thestablishment. Just sharing my unfortunate truth. read more

My wife and I always have a great experience at Coin-Op in Old Town Temecula, and this visit was no exception! The food and drinks were amazing as always, and the atmosphere is such a fun place to hang out. What really made our visit stand out was the exceptional customer service from our bartenders, Janelle and Maddy. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we always had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. They had a great attitude, made awesome drink recommendations, and genuinely made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down. I spent an evening at a bar and had a great time. This was my first time here. The bartender was incredibly helpful when we were deciding what to order, making recommendations with a friendly smile. I started with the Princess Peach cocktail and later tried the Sour Watermelon shooter--both were delightful and well-crafted. The bar also featured a variety of fun games, which added to the lively atmosphere. Some of my favorites included Pac-Man, basketball, and Mario Kart. We came in to celebrate my brother in laws birthday after his release from the ICU after an accident. My daughter was with us playing games since children are allowed until 8pm. A man started hitting on her at the Zoltar machine so she told me that she felt uncomfortable. I went to the man to tell him that she was 12 and he rolled his eyes at me. I tried to tell security, but he is friends with them, so they played ukelele and ignored me. This establishment is ok with sexual abuse towards minors. That is not ok.
