My daughter gives credit to this restaurant as being the first place she liked a Caesar salad. She loved it again this time. We all enjoy the pastas and the pizza here. We've been here 3 times, always in winter, and each time the place felt warm and cozy and comfortable, like a neighborhood restaurant should feel. The menu has items that aren't traditionally Italian, such as several burgers, and grilled salmon. They offer a variety of homemade desserts. There are several items that seem non-traditional Americanized Italian, like the prosciutto and chicken Marsala pasta, which I got, and I loved! The quality of the food is very high. Locally sourced, fresh, made with love. We tried the fettuccine Alfredo which was excellent, and a pepperoni pizza. The small size is perfect for one person. The pepperoni was perfectly spiced, cooked crispy, the crust was thin and crispy. Really nicely done! We tried the chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert and it was fantastic...a large piece, almost a cheesecake consistency, with a crispy chocolate crumb crust which we took to go, and they gave us 3 forks for sharing since we were staying at a hotel. On our road trip from the Finger Lakes to the White Mountains, we pulled off for dinner at Colatina Exit--because road trip rule #27: never hike hungry, never drive hangry. The pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, but my body politely reminded me that vegetables exist, so we went with the Burrata Caprese salad instead. It was fresh, creamy, and delicious--basically summer on a plate. The building itself is charmingly old-school, all warm wood and cozy corners that make you want to stay awhile. The only thing missing? A smile or two from the staff. Let's just say the service could use a refresher course in "hospitality, but make it friendly." If you're local, this might be a great spot for takeout. If you're just passing through like us, the food's good--but the vibe might depend on who's working that day. read more

I'm a big fan of Colatina Exit. I've been here on two separate visits to Bradford and the food is consistently good. This visit I had a toddler in tow, and I can confidently say that Colatina Exit is one of the more kid friendly places I've been to in the area. We ordered several items from the menu including the fettuccine Alfredo ($18), the customizable pizzas and the chicken Milanese with arugula salad ($23). I didn't realize that the chicken was topped with a cream sauce and while I didn't think this was necessary, it was fine! I appreciate that they use high quality products from local farms- like Hatchland's cream and Robie Farm beef. I was in a salad mood so I also added a Caesar salad to my entree for $2.99. Not many lunch options in the town of Bradford, but we were definitely not disappointed with this restaurant. A little hesitation when we approached the exterior, as there was a shady character hanging outside the entrance...but we soon learned he had nothing to do with the place. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly and seated us quickly. The darkness and the decor inside the restaurant gave me a feeling of old timey vibes. Clean and cozy, fine by me. We were looking for something light, so decided to split a wrap. We ordered the chicken ranchero wrap and the lovely waitress had the chef half everything so we had 2 plates. I love it when an establishment volunteers that option. It was a good thing we split that wrap, because it was packed full of crispy chicken. Fresh veggies in a soft wrap- hit the spot. The fries were the kind I love- battered then fried. They were a tiny bit stale, or may have been refried too many times, but I'm not complaining- I ate them all. Good Morning Vincent, I apologize for reaching out to you on your personal account, but I wanted to share the experience we had at the Colatina Exit this past Friday night. I've been going to the Colatina Exit since I was a teenager--almost 50 years now, just a few years shy of its opening. In other words, I'm very familiar with the changes over the years, and I've always enjoyed dining there. This past Friday, my husband and I met our uncle, who visits from Florida once a year and always takes us out to dinner. He usually chooses Jessie's for the prime rib, but this time he wanted Italian cuisine and decided on the Colatina because it was closer for us. We met at 5:30, and I had made a reservation. Our waitress was extremely friendly, and we took some time to place our orders. The issues began when my husband and uncle received the wrong salads--certainly an understandable mistake, and our uncle actually enjoyed the one he got. The bigger disappointment came when our uncle asked for a spoon to twirl his pasta. The waitress told him there were no clean spoons available--around 6:00 in the evening--which surprised us. She did try to help and returned with a slotted salad serving spoon, explaining that she had just washed it herself. Unfortunately, the spoon was sticky, and our uncle chose not to use it. He finished what he could of his meal, though not with the experience I had hoped he would have on his first visit. I felt a bit embarrassed, as I have always spoken highly of the Colatina and have had many wonderful experiences there over the past five decades. I'm not sure what led to there being no clean spoons during dinner service, but it stuck with me over the weekend, and I felt it was important to mention. I've been going to Colatina since I was a child. It has gone through many evolutions of food, service, building construction, musical entertainment.. you name it. I am happy to say that the current incarnation is both recognizable as the restaurant of old and reflective of all as of new dishes. There is admittedly little competition so they could fall off but they don't. The mushroom soup and the greens with garlic dill dressing are oddly two of our favorites! I'd give 10 stars if I could. I came here with my kids and parents while vacationing in Fairlee and was very impressed with everything. When we called we were told reservations were recommended but they could seat a party of 5 right away. Upon entering, our server, Kasey, greeted us right away. She was very considerate in seating us, as the front booths would be in direct sunlight, and asked if my mother (who was using a walker) would be able to take a step down to another section where there were additional large booths. Kasey was great! Very attentive and funny, and even brought out bowls showing the "pub size" vs regular size pasta for their "Way out Wednesday". When I asked for a larger glass of water for my son who was apparently very thirsty, she brought him a carafe to refill his glass. We were served bread with dipping oil which was a nice touch. Our food came out quickly, with one hiccup- my son's chicken marsala order didn't make it from the order slip to the kitchen. The manager (I didn't catch his name) was very apologetic and put a rush on his meal. Kasey also came out right away to apologize and ask if she could get him anything else while he waited. Mistakes happen and we appreciated the concern they showed. His meal did arrive fairly quickly and everything tasted delicious. My penne a la vodka was spicy, which I wasn't expecting, but I liked it. We ordered tarimisu and cannoli for dessert and left very satisfied. I have been to Colatina many times for various reasons. The food is usually passable, but the service is terrible. You can get what you order as long as you don't make any changes to the norm. My drink came wrong but standard. I asked for a change on my entree and was ignored. When I complained I was treated as if I had made a mistake. They are not customer oriented. No one tried to make it better in any way. The waitresses feelings were the main concern. I will not be going back. read more

In Topsham Vermont on a summer vacation when I stumbled across this gem of a restaurant! Italian food, rooted 50 years in history? In a small town? With sustainable practices rooted in their community? Doesn't get much better than that! Good wine, good food, and great service! Ambiance was romantic, charming, and rustic. Lovely place! The Lasagna was filled with flavor and so good. I never order Lasagna at Italian restaurants. Not sure why really but something told me to order it here and I am so thankful I did! You can't go wrong here. The bread and butter is delicious! What on earth do they put in their butter? Maple? Is that the secret? My husband ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine. He reports that the sauce was very flavorful and the warmth of the grape seed tomatoes was a pleasant surprise to the dish. The mozzarella was so good! I stumbled upon this place by chance on my way home from climbing Mount Washington. I often travel between CT and northern NH which means driving on 91 through 120 miles of Vermont. North of White River Junction, there isn't much available in terms of food, but I was thrilled to have recently discovered Colatina Exit. We only had their pasta dishes which I loved. Their meatballs - and other menu items - have bacon as an ingredient as an added twist which I really enjoyed. Also an honorable mention to their garlic bread. They also appeared to have entertainment in the form of a guy who was going table to table making kids laugh. Service was great, food tasted great. I cannot give this place more stars than this, and here is why: The food is delicious! People working in Colatina are wonderful, kind and courteous. First, make sure you make that reservation ahead of time, so you can be seated when promised. Second, the food takes over an hour to get to your table. Guys, please, I am not sure what the problem is, but get a bigger kitchen, or hire more cooks on a busy weekend or something. You might be losing some customers here. This is one of the best Italian restaurants we've found north of Boston. It serves pizza in lots of varieties but we went with main dishes. Diane had seafood on pasta and I had one of the best lasagnas ever. You know you are going first class when hot bread and a dish of oil with pesto are immediately on your table. What a pleasant surprise, waitstaff and manager were very attentive. Had a Ceasar salad that was most enjoyable and better than 99% of what you are served out there in restaurant world. They have butter blended with Maple syrup for the bread. Wonderful Calzone...big enough for two meals most definitely. Biodegradable to go containers, didn't realize that had become such an essential thing in dining...but apparently, according to all the questions asked on yelp....it's a huge concern. Guess people can rest at ease. Perhaps they won't come because there isn't anything to complain about and everyone wants to be upset about something these days. I reviewed this establishment 10 months ago and have returned multiple times since. Now serving indoors and takeout. Must call ahead first. They always have specials. Pizza is wood fired and done very well. This time we had the calamari, which was one of the specials. Although the batter was flavorful and portion size was adequate, I felt the pieces of calamari were awkward and small. There was no defined rings of squid making this dish feel odd to me (see pic). I decided to go w the campfire steak which is accompanied by a smooth gorgonzola sauce and fried onions. Steak was cooked perfectly to order and tender.. The sauce was excellent. You hear gorgonzola and think pungent but it is better described as smooth and creamy. Entrees come w a bean salad which is a small portion or you can upgrade to a salad for 3.50. Upgraded salad price to me is a little high compared to other establishments but the salad is delicious. My daughter had the chicken marsala which she enjoyed. We love when we have Tyson as a server. He is always amazing and remembers who we are when we come in. He pays attention to detail and to me seems like a very valuable employee. He always gives 110% which is just as important as the quality of food. This establishment is worth the drive or just stop in if your local. You won't regret it! read more

Small town Bradford with some decent food options. Only 4 stars because I have only been here once. But I really enjoyed my time. I'm hoping next time will be just as good. Atmosphere upstairs is perfect. I loved the view of the golf course and cozy feel of the room with the candles at each table and wooden features; it felt very homey. My food was awesome. As you can see from the picture, it was a good sized portion and had plenty of lobster which I was very happy to see them not skimp on. At the time of my visit it was the dead of winter. It's nice to know you don't have to find a coast to get good seafood dishes. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his pizza as well. He can be picky and he devoured it. I had never been to this restaurant before, but I was very happy with the experience! The restaurant did a very good job of keeping the place clean and social-distancing customers so that we all felt safe; it was actually my first time eating inside a restaurant since March 2020 (COVID).
