My friend ordered the deepdish and loved it.

Great food and our server was excellent. I plan on going every other weekend because the food is delicious and the atmosphere is fairly good.

Barre was well known for excellent Italian cuisine for decades. AR Trattoria and Pearl St Pizza have done an amazing job rekindling the love for authentic, traditional Italian food, sometimes with a modern twist. I ended up at the pizzeria two nights in a row, which i wouldn't normally do, but it was a: that good and b: I was attending two events. The first night was a VICA (Vermont Italian Cultural Association) Italian conversation event for beginners to native speakers. It was pretty awesome to hear so much Italian spoken and two of the guests were playing Italian folk music live the next evening, so I had to come back. That's probably TMI and not about the food. So here's what you really came to read: The first night, I split a slice of the grandma pepper and onion pizza (thick, Sicilian square style like my family makes) with a friend. The slice was that big that two people could eat it. It was perfectly crisped on the bottom, with thick soft dough covered in a beautiful homemade tomato sauce, cheese, charred onions and peppers. It was fantastic. The next night, I wanted the grilled shrimp speidini, but they'd were out of it, so I ordered a traditional 14 inch Margherita pizza, with a Neapolitan thin crust. I felt like I was back in Italy: everything about it was perfect: the crust was crispy and thin, not too chewy (which I've found to be an issue with some other brick/stone oven local pizzas. The sauce was heavenly: light and fresh. Topped with fresh mozzarella, basil and good olive oil. I had to restrain myself from eating the whole pie in one sitting. The outdoor seating is great. The menu as a whole looks fantastic: limited and seasonal, which is what I prefer. It's well worth the drive. I can see this becoming a regular visit.

Looking for food to satisfy that rumble in my belly, this place hit the spot. I placed my order to go when I arrived and had a drink at the bar while I waited. Once I saw the wood fired oven, I knew my food was going to be amazing. I placed an order for a simple pepperoni pizza with hot honey sauce. For a starter I ordered the wings. My food was ready in less than 20min. I stole a quick glance and let's just say There was instant mouth water! Staff here were all very friendly and helpful. The bartender was great! Overall, great experience! I look forward to a return visit in the future.

    Their amazing oven!!!

One of the best pizza places in the country! Everyone there is simply awesome. Humble and down to earth, this place is a must try. Try the white pizza special! Or the grandma style pepperoni hot honey, UNBELIEVABLE!!! Will be recommending this place for years to come!

This is the best pizza we've had in Vermont, and that's saying a lot. We also tried their "pasta of the week" which changes weekly, tonight it was Arriabata Chorizao - phenomenal! We sat at the bar and got a "grandma's style" 1/4 pizza "slice" as well too share, it's a deep dish style. We opted for Prosciutto as a topping, highly recommend adding this to the cheese pizza! The drinks were also incredible. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu. The atmosphere was lovely, very romantic lighting. I would highly recommend this spot for a date night. The staff was very knowledgeable, and the owners checked in with us to see how everything was. We will definitely be back and recommending this spot to everyone we know.

Amazing food and amazing service. Such a gem for the community. Come for trivia on the first and third Thursday of each month!

Look at the crust. Under side was also black.

We really wanted to like this place after all of the stellar reviews. Finally ordered takeout... A wood fired pizza and garlic bread. Maybe it was a fluke because the place was packed, but this was a letdown.

BLM artwork litters the walls, there's a sign that says "trans people eat free" under the register and Hailey greets you with the warmest smile from behind the counter! Then...we tried the food. Nothing could have prepared us for how absolutely delicious everything was! And its not just their pizza thats mind-blowing, so are their vegetarian and chicken dishes. Hailey's service was wonderful, she (and her sweet daugther!) even did a site visit before the wedding to give us advice on where her team should set up, and what makes the most sense for rental planning. She was extremely accommodating to our vegan diet, as well and provided gluten-free alternatives for our guests. My parents mentioned "faine" aka "farinata," because we eat that with our pizza in our home-country of Argentina, and Hailey offered to learn the recipe and make it for us at the wedding. Thats how thoughtful she is! We ordered: - grazing table full of local cheese and meats - maple seared scallops - fish cakes -farinata -green salad with seasonal veg -maple braised chicken thighs and drumsticks -quinoa & bean stuffed squash -pizza buffet with vegan cheese and GF crust options -peach & blueberry cobbler At the wedding, no one could stop talking about how incredible the food was, and how absolutely lovely Hailey and her staff are. We could not have had a better experience. Thank you and your team for making this happen! Don't have photos to share yet (photos are yet to arrive from the photographer) but will leave you with this one of the bride getting her hands messy in some pizza :)

The issues included: - It's 20 degrees out and the door takes forever to close, so every time someone comes in, you get an endless blast of cold air. They should put a sign on it saying "CLOSE DOOR BEHIND YOU." Or maybe just get a decent door. We were freezing. My son kept his winter coat on. - It took forever to get seated, forever to put in our order and forever to get our food - even PIZZA SLICES. I had to ask three times for a club soda. -They were out of a ton of things including 8 out of 11 beers on tap, lemonade, and bone-in wings. - So we ordered boneless wings which came AFTER the rest of our meal and were basically disgusting chicken nuggets. The Caesar salad also arrived after everything else. - The salmon was adequate but worse than Applebees and basically every other restaurant salmon I've ever ordered. The carrots on the side were undercooked. - They had no way of playing music outside of the TV so we had to turn off the music to put on the Celtics. None of these are unsolvable problems. Someone just has to care enough to solve them.

So 10 of us went over there for lunch today and we ended up meeting the owner of the restaurant, David and they had some really exceptional Service. It was like right on top of everything. They took their time they took our order separately had no problem right and separate check since it was like a 10 of us was five couples. we also tried a Caesar salads as well as the pizzas. We had the sausage pizza because we had the homemade meatball appetizer and then everything was just really delicious. We ended up meeting some folks in the next room. Because they had a beautiful buffet set up and it was just amazing how excellent it was looking. I mean the food all smell fantastic come to find out the young man explained to me that they were actually there for their aunt service that she had actually passed away in January 2024, but she had been a professor and her husband has been a judge and so he already passed away so what they did was they took her ashes all over the world they came from England and Ireland. They took her ashes like five different places of the six different places over the past year so they could take and have a party with each one of the family members a friend who couldn't make it to one place or the other All at the same time so then they just brought her back here and they buried her this morning with her husband in Mawn Phelia in the cemetery and they were having the app party for here afterwards I just thought that was like the neatest thing to do for anyone. And they seem like very very nice people so it was kind of cool. I would definitely go here again. I would definitely recommend it as a place to go. We were able to eat on the patio on the front porch of the restaurant of the Montpelier Inn and really it was very interesting watching all the people in the cars and stuff go by and it was just you know it was fun so yeah so definitely make this a destination stop if you're in the town.
