Meat lover pizza (ham, bacon, sausage, meatballs, and pepperoni)
    Matt P.

I finally got a chance to try Stella's, a local market and restaurant in the quaint town of Lyme, NH. Though their menu is eclectic (braised short rib tacos, reuben eggrolls), at its heart is traditional Italian food. So many tasty-sounding things on the menu I would like to eventually try but I ultimately settled on two specialty pizzas: the pesto primavera and the meat lover. The pest primavera had kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, feta, spinach, and pesto. Bursting with flavor! The meat lovers came chocked full of ham, bacon, sausage, meatballs, and pepperoni. These pizzas were large (consistent with their price) and definitely supplied leftovers for a few days. Stella's is on the more expensive side so it might not be for everyone but if you're looking for quality ingredients, bold flavors, and a menu that reflects the creativity of their staff, check out Stella's.

I'm not normally a bread and butter before dinner gal but it hit the spot. I split two pastas, and one of them was okay, while the other was AMAZING. The chicken carbonara was a 7/10. Not a bad pasta, but nothing crazy. It really tasted like Alfredo pasta with a bit more savoryness. On the other hand, the short rib Bolognese was way better than expected. 10/10, honestly. The short rib was tender and melted in your mouth and the sauce wasn't just a standard marinara. It was richer, with a sort of creaminess and perhaps even a good amount of cheese. It was AMAZING. Definitely the spot to go in Hanover.

The positive is that we were able to put our name on the waiting list so we were seated right away once we arrived, having walked over from the Hanover Inn. Our table of six were mostly just okay with their food (burger, fish and chips, pasta). The standout item was the clam chowder which had plentiful clam pieces and a really good flavor. 5/5 The chicken nachos were pretty good 4/5 I suspect we will still go back to Molly's in the future because it is a Hanover institution and convenient, but I need to find what item to order that I will really enjoy eating.

I believe there are 4 Nepalese restaurants in the region and other than this, I've not yet been to one before. There are 2 in Burlington, this one is at Dartmouth College in Hanover and the fourth is in Quebec. What a special experience to visit this Kathmandu-style, Nepalese restaurant. The Base Camp Cafe is in the basement of a Dartmouth campus building. Getting to it is tricky if you need the elevator but go through the Mexican restaurant and down their back hallway to get to it. Everyone reviews the Base Camp Cafe's most famous app: the Mo mo's and with good reason. Our mo mo chicken dumplings were not like the Asian steamed dumplings we are used to. They are so much better! The outside of the dumpling is more like a thick wonton soup noodle with multiple layers. Sooo good! The heart chicken flavor is clean and satisfying. There are notes of cilantro apparent in the center. The golden lentil dal soup, on the other hand, was deflating. It was mainly a broth with tiny bits of lentils and not much else. It was more like eating a curried chicken broth with a lentil paste vs. a hearty soup full of lentils. The red chili curry at spice level 5 is delicious. I chose the veggie curry and it has good heat, not too intense. The tomato flavor in this curry is strong like a sun ripened tomato paste. The veggies in it are delightfully firm and crunchy. The gigantic bowl of stir fry noodles are similar to al dente fettuccine vs. a rice pasta. They have an easy smokey flavor. I requested a side of hot sauce. What an impressive first tasting experience! I can only compare it to if you could taste a crystal lake, it is like this. There is a pure, clear flavor that hits your taste buds first. Like water but condensed. Then the heat builds and builds. And continues to build minutes after. The dark green sauce gracing the top of our rice is also an experience. It's more rich and - again - condensed than any hot Asian green chili sauce I've had. It is at least made of cilantro and avocado, but also a tiny amount of jalapeño with olive oil. Absolutely loved it! I do not know exactly how to write this but there was a bit of a spiritual cleansing here and I'm not talking about digestive. Later in the evening we just felt more relaxed and positive from the high mountain peak dining recipes and exotic wall art. It's as though any lingering negative vibes fled and headed back to the hills. The service at the Base Camp Cafe is earnest, efficient and kind. Requests are met with sincerity and smiles come easily here.

The lattes were pretty standard and the pastries were a bit disappointing. The flavor profile of the focaccia was odd - corn, tomato, and spicy mayo. Which the person taking the calls confirmed thanks David!! And then found it once I started pressing the issue. So I waited until about 3 am for the redo to meet Chris I believe outside to grab my food and as I double checked the order I opened the box in front of him and the first pizza was fine but the 2 nd pizza was missing 2 slices from it!! WHAAAAAT!!!!??? I called back and spoke with David and told him what happened and because I literally had to wait 4 hours I was like no I don't want it redone again because god knows what else would be messed up when or if it arrived. we both had a laugh about the situation however it really was NOT funny i was furious. But laughing was better than yelling at EVERYONE. luckily I have a sense of humor. Now i assume and strongly believe that the staff that night were high and incompetent just in the tone and the demeanor but maybe I'm wrong. That's when David told me that Pedro had went home with a cheese pizza. I believe that is who actually came to drop oof my food because the two slices were gone. So important feedback and thought of the day is DONT VOTE FOR PEDRO!!! Seriously guys check the food look at the receipt and confirm the order!
