I usually love Cold Stone, but my visit to the Babylon location today was incredibly disappointing. First of all, the prices here have gotten completely out of hand. I ended up paying $20 for literally just a kiddie-sized Birthday Cake Remix cup and one of their new ice cream tacos. $20!! I know inflation is a thing, but charging that much for a tiny kid's cup and a taco is just straight-up highway robbery. But honestly, the price wasn't even the worst part. What really grossed me out was watching the employee scoop and mix the ice cream without wearing any gloves. Especially at a place where they are constantly handling food, mixing things on the stone, and touching different utensils, not wearing gloves is absolutely disgusting and a massive hygiene issue. Between getting ripped off and watching basic food safety get ignored, I won't be coming back to this location. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about cleanliness. read more

I love cold stone. When my husband and I first moved here in 2016, back when we were dating, I was wondering if there was a location in Suffolk. My husband's friend said that there was one in Babylon. I was so excited! The service is always great. They always ask if I need any help. There used to be seats back when I first started going. They had a few interesting new flavors so tasted chips ahoy and it was pretty good. I decided to go with my normal like it size sweet cream ice cream because it never disappoints. I mixed in yellow cake and rainbow sprinkles. The girl who helped us was pleasant and mixed our ice cream well so there was a piece of our mix ins in each bite. Coldstone is pricey but it always has been even back when I worked there in 2003. The ice cream is worth it though. I have been coming here for years. It'l has always been a great experience. The place is usually packed in the summer, especial in the evenings. They have young folks that working there, but they are well trained on customer service and the products. They will make you the wide list of choices the have or any mixture you want. The cake turned out really great and even better than I expected with kitkat bars actually embedded in the ice cream :D Inside is pretty tiny though its more of a grab and go kind of place. The only place to get ice cream after 10 pm on a Friday night! My daughter took chocolate decadence in a waffle cone to go for me. She had them put in a cup for the car ride. I haven't been to a Cold Stone Creamery is probably 7/8 years, but I had such a craving for ice cream and I thought it might hit the spot so I came here. The place is actually a lot smaller than it seems from the street and there was really no where to sit and eat forcing you to take it to go. (I'm not sure if this is the norm now so people don't hang out here, but the location I used to go to had a huge area with tables for you to sit and relax with your ice cream) The staff seemed very young and inexperienced working and it took a while to be helped even though there wasn't many other customers inside. I ordered exactly what I wanted (blueberry muffin batter... so good!) and then the girl went to hand me something totally different. I asked her if that was the blueberry one and she replied "no I thought you said cookie dough" and then it was an awkward pause and I told her again what I had ordered and she just quietly walked away and remade my order. I understand mistakes happen, but it was just such a cold, unfriendly way to handle the situation especially because it's entirely a customer service position. They have a bunch of favors to choose from but some reason I was really craving Reese's so I asked for Reese's ice cream with Reese's as the mixed-in topping just so the ice cream could have small chunks of the candy inside of it. I think the woman just put one Reese's on top of the scoop of ice cream instead of inside which was okay because I guess I didn't quite specify. I also got it in a cone dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. Love this place! My little brother had his birthday party here a few years back. The owner showed us how they make ice cream on site in the back kitchen. We also got to prepare our ice cream with toppings ourselves in the front of the store on the stones. We were able to make our own cones too! Such a cool experience for kids of all ages. They used to do parties for adults as well, not sure if they still do either one. Service is friendly, shop is always clean. There is not much seating inside, but there are benches out front and nearby Argyle Park to walk to and sit when its nice out. read more
