Yum. This is Cold Stone Creamery's newest location. It's store #23519 and it opened February 2019. You can find it in the new North Decatur Square shopping plaza at the corner of North Decatur Road and Church Street. The plaza is anchored by a Whole Foods 365. Everything in this plaza is relatively new. There are over 1,100 Cold Stone locations worldwide, but only 7 in metro Atlanta (at the time of writing this review). I used to go to the one in Atlantic Station, where I live, but it closed years ago. I'm not sure I've been to a Cold Stone since. Visiting this location in Decatur brought back some memories. I had to get what I ordered most often at the Atlantic Station location: the Birthday Cake Remix. It consists of cake batter ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, brownie, and fudge. I got it in Cold Stone's smallest size ("Like It") for $4.99 plus tax. Only 670 calories. It was just as delicious as I remembered it. The cake batter ice cream was smooth and creamy and I really enjoyed the chewy chunks of rich, chocolaty brownie and the texture of the colorful rainbow sprinkles. I recommend it. What makes Cold Stone, which was founded in 1988, different from other ice cream shops is they have a cold stone slab (frozen granite) which the servers use to mix the ice cream with various toppings and mix-ins. Marble Slab Creamery was the first to popularize this concept (1986), but Cold Stone has since surpassed them (by far) in terms of locations. Birthday Cake Remix is one of several Cold Stone Signature Creations ($4.99 small, $5.49 regular, $5.99 large). You can also customize your own ice cream and mix-ins ($3.99 small, $4.59 regular, $4.99 large + 1 free mix-in and $0.89 each for additional mix-ins) with optional waffle cones and bowls ($0.99-1.49 each). When we visited, there were about 20 ice cream flavors to choose from. Some of the flavors are made fresh in-store. There were a bevy of point-and-choose mix-ins and toppings such as candy bars, nuts, cookies, and candy. In addition to ice cream, Cold Stone offers frappes, shakes, smoothies, cakes (including custom cakes), and "Hot Stone" desserts (hot and cold desserts) like Brownie a la Cold Stone, made with a warm chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, caramel, fudge, and pecans ($6.99). Service was good. We visited on a Saturday night after dinner and the place was busy, but not slammed. The crowd was a mix of both adults and kids. Seating (inside only) is limited. There are only about 10 seats total. This is a good after-dinner date spot.

The young ladies at this location are trash. A bunch of young people who hate what they do. My boyfriend wanted to put a spin on the founders favorite and they gave him a hard time. I have been eating cold stone for over two decades and cannot remember a time service for such a quick and easy item was this bad. I love cold stone and haven't had it since pre-pandemic and the ice cream was delicious of course smooth and creamy per usual, which is what the stars are for, the service is a zero. Mind you, I'm not expecting Capital Grille service or any service really, just be nice.

As I walked into the ice cream shop, I smelled the sweet aroma of ice cream. Their ice cream is amazing. There are a variety of flavors. There is ice cream, waffle cones, sundaes, cakes, shakes, and drinks. There are many toppings. The customer service is amazing, friendly, helpful and fast. A very cool ambiance and clean place. They have a great attitude and they always greet you. I love this ice cream shop. Cold stone is where dreams of ice cream being perfect come true. With there amazing signature items you really can't go wrong. I recommend the mix of Butter Pecan and Blueberry with Graham Crackers as the topping perfection. I didn't know the first topping was free so that's a plus. Reasonable and affordable prices. Cold Stone Creamery is an Ice cream chain offering design-your-own creations hand-mixed on a granite slab, plus shakes and more. If this location had some benches and tables located just outside, that would have made this place the perfect ice cream date/desert spot for anyone to hang out with friends/family. I guess they might do it once it gets more hotter later the time. As this place is in a shopping plaza, there is ample free parking in front of the shop. I recommend this place for great tasting, original ice cream anytime and also I recommend for everyone to come here.

I love Cold Stone. I love the fact that one is so close to my house now. They recently opened and are nice for a quick fix of ice cream. My mom and I came here for some girls time. The icecream was creamy, fresh, and had the right amount of mixers. I had the founders favorite, which is MY favorite!! I can't wait to come back. The service was also very good!!

I came to Cold Stone on a Sunday at 12 which is when they first open. It had been awhile since I'd last gone to a Cold Stone and the store smelled amazing - like ice cream and freshly made waffle cones. The store is modest in size but its neat, clean, and well lit. Service was polite and prompt. I had a "Love it" (medium) size of the Circus Animal Cookie Creation ($6) and it was really good. I also tried their Golden Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Creation and it was delicious. It's in a plaza with Whole Foods 365, Big Peach Running Co, and some other fast casual restaurants like Gusto and Curry Up Now. Parking is in a shared moderate sized lot so you'll be able to find something. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

All of this franchise's locations are nice in that their quality is superb. And they're usually pretty generous with the portions!

    Not good at ALL

I gave a one star because my birthday cake from here wasn't good at ALL. It was so tiny and tasted old. It was $30 and I would have been okay with that high price IF the cake was good BUT it was horrible. I LOvE their ice cream that's why I thought I couldn't go wrong with the cake but never again will I get a cake from here.

Finally it's open!!! Make your way over to the newly open Cold Stone Creamery located on Church St adjacent from Emory Healthcare formerly known as Dekalb Medical. Cold stone supplies hardy portions in sizes that range from: like it (small), love it (medium), and gotta have it (large). Visitors have the option of choosing a specialty ice cream combination or create your own with the numerous flavors and toppings they have available! I elected to order the "Birthday Cake Remix" which came with cake batter ice cream, fresh crushed brownie, hot fudge, and rainbow sprinkles! Your order is made right in front of you on cold marble slab so that every order can be customized! As this business just opened, there's always going to be hiccups. The customer service was slightly lacking this evening... but I'll definitely be back for more!

Hair was in the ice cream.

Gotta love Kupcakerie!…read more I've been planning on visiting the new Kupcakerie location for months and I was so happy when I finally got the chance a few weeks ago. I'm so used to the East Point location, I was excited to visit the new Grant Park location, especially when I saw all of the new parking spaces. So much room! First impressions were great as when you first drive up you see the super cute, pink Kupcakerie cupcake and name on the exterior. There was some seating outside on one visit (when it wasn't so rainy in ATL) and the string lights were an added bonus for the vibes. This space is also offered for events and I could definitely imagine a super cute soiree happening in this cute area. Upon entry, I loved seeing the super cute pink couch in the corner, perfect seating for those who decide to check out one of the books from the bakery bookshelf. (Buy a book!) There's also a nice little office space that would be great for meetings or study groups while you enjoy the Kupcakerie treats. It's super quiet and the cashiers have all been friendly, fast and willing to share their personal recommendations. Kupcakerie offers about a dozen different cupcake flavors daily and I feel like every flavor is worth a try, lol. I don't truly love sweets, but I have cravings for a little sugar like anyone else, and their cupcakes are always worth it. (And pair well with wine!) If you're not on the hunt for cupcakes, you should check out the breakfast sandwiches, coffees, sandwiches/salads, etc. that they also offer. The strawberry Scarlet Letter and Yes, Pecan! are my faves. Yum!
