Came here after exploring downtown Duluth and they require masks and social distancing. They also have outdoor seating. The portions are also huge. The love it seemed bigger than back home. I ordered a blueberry and banana smoothie, and they put like a tiny tablespoon of blueberries and then one enormous scoop of ice cubes! I did not pay for only ice! The workers also weren't very polite. My daughter ordered a milkshake made with peppermint ice cream, and it was so runny, it just tasted like sweetened peppermint milk. So disappointing because we paid a premium price for our orders. Will not be going back. read more

Stopped in late at night (10 pm) for ice cream. It wasn't terribly busy, however the staff seemed to be a little chaotic, like no one knew where they were supposed to be or who is helping who. Other than the unproffesional staff, the ice cream itself was very good and we enjoyed having ice cream while walking the boardwalk. read more

Never Again! Stood in line forever to order, upon ordering and paying I came to notice I payed a $5 tip that they never asked if I wanted to pay or anything, it isn't right that they can just add gratuity to my bill and not tell me. Won't be going back for that overpriced icecream again! read more

My visit today was complete B.S. Stood in line for 15 minutes while I watched one employee work (at a snal's pace), and only made it through one customer before I finally left. Another employee came out from the back about halfway through, saw the 12 people in line, and neglected to help their co-worker. We stopped by for a quick dessert before dinner and got served right away. However, a few bites in we found a hair in our Chocolate Devotion. :( Not being the type to complain over such a small thing, we shrugged it off and figured it was a fluke. That was until a couple bites later when we found another long hair. We went back to ask for a refund, having lost our appetites at this point. The guy behind the counter said sure thing and grabbed his manager who came across as defensive right off the bat. She didn't apologize once and avoided eye contact. We asked if they were required to wear hair nets or hats; she claimed that since their hair was pinned back, it was fine. The guy who made our food had long, unrestrained hair. In my experience in the food industry, hair should be kept either in a hat or hair-net. This was my second time going to a Coldstone and finding hair in my food. We stopped in on 7/3/2016. I couldn't find a spot to park and didn't have much time to spare so I dropped off the family then drove around waiting for them to be done. It took forever. They were out of cake for our four cake'n shakes. We were in a rush to get home, so my wife accepted that. Our 4 shakes were made and everyone got back in the car. As soon as my wife handed me my shake, I knew it was not made correctly. This missing cake wasn't the issue. What was the issue is that there wasn't anything in my cup that was the slightest bit frozen. What I, my wife, and both kids had was nothing more than a slightly cake flavored glass of sweetened milk. Now what? I know I should take it back, but the long wait had already consumed too much time, and there were still no parking spots nearby. I'd been ripped off, but had no choice but to leave. Dear Duluth Cold Stone Creamery, You can find our shakes a block or so down the road in garbage can of the Dairy Queen's drive through, which was all I had time for to get the sweet treat I'd promised the kids. Well, my last honest review of this place was deleted it looks like so I will post another one and see if it gets deleted as well. If I could give negative stars to this place I would. That's how upset I was at my experience at this place this summer. The place has great ice cream but really BAD customer service. I walked up to the counter and asked if I can get a child size ice cream cone and was informed that I cannot purchase that size because I need to have a kid under 12 with me in order to purchase that size. What? Are you serious? I thought we were in the US not China. I could not believe my ears! Anyway, my wife went to talk to the girl behind the counter (most likely the manager) to politely complain about the rule and after she walked away it just seemed that they kept talking about her which was very rude. I would think twice about giving my business to a place with such an inflexible business model. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? read more
