The girl working behind the counter was very rude to the child ordering in front of us. She made several sighs and we saw her throw the scooper down because he wanted a second flavor. I asked for peanut butter cookie dough and asked for a recommendation for toppings. She answered "I don't eat that flavor, it's too sweet". Not the way you're supposed to answer that question. Tell me what other guests get in theirs or ask the other employee if you're not sure. Then she added my walnuts in the cup after i asked for them but put it at the register and didn't ask me if I wanted more toppings. I informed her I wasn't done with the order. She then does her sigh to me like I'm bothering her. So we decided to not even get the ice cream and left. This Cold Stone location charges 40% more for its cakes than other Cold Stone locations. I went to the El Segundo location looking for two 8x12 rectangular ice cream cakes for my sons' birthday. They only had one (Oreo cookie). I was charged $64.99 for the cake. Then, I went to the Inglewood location (10 minutes down the road) and purchased the exact same cake - size, flavor, and birthday message - and was only charged $45.99. I returned back to the El Segundo location to inquire about the price difference. I was advised the locations have the liberty of setting their own prices and refused to refund me the difference between the two cakes. The benefit of franchises is that you can count on the same product and quality. I also expected consistency in the pricing. I think it's appalling that the El Segundo owner is so unapologetically markIng up its prices for El Segundo families. Consider the extra ten minute drive to save 40%+ on your next cake. I remember when Cold Stone Creamery first opened. My friend was raving about it: "Dude, you gotta try Cold Stone," he'd say. "You choose an ice cream, pick your favourite ingredients and they mix it all together on a marble slab." "Bullshit," I'd say. "The ice cream would melt." "Ah, it would, but the marble slab is cold. It's a cold stone, get it?" "D'oh!" I would exclaim, since I was a fan of The Simpsons at the time and had no way of stopping myself. Unfortunately, there wasn't a Cold Stone Creamery near me. But all that would soon change. Before I knew it, there were Cold Stone Creameries everywhere -- and I do mean everywhere. Well, to be honest, I wasn't that impressed with it. I mean, sure it's cool that I can create my own flavours (as long as they have the ingredients on hand), but the quality is kind of, well, bleh. I mean, did you ever really taste the chocolate ice cream? It tastes more like chocolate frosting. Speaking of which, my friend swears by the Cake Batter ice cream. I tried it. My throat rejected it. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at Rite-Aid on New Year's Day only to find them closed. How was I going to settle my craving for Ice cream? I walked inside and was immediately noticed how clean this location was. If this is the first time you are reading my reviews I expect the business I am visiting to look clean and smell clean, both are equally important. I was met by a very helpful staff that seemed stoked to be working on New Year's Day. The staff wished me a Happy New Year and even asked how my New Year's Eve was. I engaged in the small talk and then place my order. I ordered a small mint ice cream with chocolate chips in a medium sized bowl. That is the trick to getting a little more bang for your buck. I was pleased with my ice cream but truthfully it wasn't Rite-Aid. Cold Stone tends to be a little too sweet, a little too creamy and a little too pricey for my taste but on occasion it hits the spot. It is nice to know that this location is open on Holiday's and if and when the occasions arose again where on a holiday I was in need of ice cream I would definitely come back here. So I came here to try and see if they would make a customized shake and the guy behind the counter was more than happy to. We got a cookie dough shake because we needed one to try and it was so good! Good Cold Stone. I love Cold Stone and have gone to various locations for years. My favorite thing is "cheesecake fantasy" but with cake batter ice cream. It's amazing! Berries, ice cream, and graham cracker crust. This location has a lot of seating and is a nice place to chill. I think they charge you more if you say "for here" instead of "take out," so watch out for that. read more

There are Cold Stones everywhere now and this one is really no different than any of the others. I still really like CSC ice cream and it's always fun to be able to mix in whatever you want. The price is always a bit high but what I like about this location is that it's never crowded. Ever. Service is always fine and they offer a different special for every day of the week (except for weekends). Cold Stone Creamery isn't your average ice cream shop. We went in 10 min before closing and surprisingly there was about 5-8 people in front of us. There were 2 young girls at the counter taking the orders. The wait was a tad bit long probably because the ice cream goes through a long process. First, they take the scoop of ice cream, put it on a marble slab, and then mix it/smash it in with a toppping of your choice. We got the small coffee ice cream with twix. The ice cream was really really good, rich and creamy. The only down side was the price/wait .Since we had a coupon, we didn't pay, but we found out that the small was $4.49!!!!!!! This place had great tasting ice cream, but I'd probably only come back if we had a coupon. read more

It's a little frustrating when you place an order in advance only to show up and even after showing up they have yet to work on your order now that they see I have arrived for my order they decide five minutes after the fact to start to work on it I am actually here at the location writing this review it's a very frustrating experience to say the least I mean what's the point of making in advance order if it's not going to be worked on I'm pretty sure that the people they were servicing when I arrived we're not ahead of me since it's not like I was down the street I will definitely no longer place any advance orders here because it's a huge waste of time instead of saving time which is what I thought I was doing. And it's not like this place is crazy busy there are some customers I will admit but nothing that should've distracted them to take my order which was in all fairness I had of those that were getting served. read more
