Eggshells in cake!!!!! :( My girlfriend ordered me a vanilla cake, with strawberries and whipped cream frosting. It was beautiful and tasted great, until I bit into an eggshell. You can see the pieces I spit out of my mouth. I have issues with textures and crunching on an eggshell makes the whole cake taste ick now. Such a bummer because I threw over half the cake out. I don't bake professionally but I've always been taught to crack eggs in separate bowl to ensure no shells. This is like baking 101! Super disappointed. But if you like eggshells this is your place. Went to order a chocolate First Communion cake for my daughter, and a vanilla cake for non-chocolate fans. They never disappoint. I also showed them a picture of an adorable nature/whimsical cake I found online that I wanted, with no qualms, they duplicated it beautifully. Ordered a cake for my sons first birthday. I thought the design looked pretty good and overall was happy about it, unfortunately couldn't really say the same about the taste. The frosting especially on the cupcakes tasted very artificial and the cake just basic, nothing really much exciting about it. I ordered a caramel cappuccino, a cinnamon apple pastry, and this chocolate chip and Oreo cookie. The coffee was very tasty with the perfect amount of caramel. The cookie was extremely soft and satisfying and the combo apple danish was very good with an apple pie style apple slice in the middle. This bakery definitely satisfied my pastry craving. Everything was great, service, ambiance, etc. except for the croissant or something called that name I had..omg it was stale and a little bit on the salty side. I had to throw it away. Forget about it being flakey, more of being 'bready' in my opinion. Now, I dnt like to write negative reviews about small businesses, but wow, that croissant left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. When you order a cake for 3:00 pick-up, the cake should be ready at or before 3:00. You should not have to wait 30 minutes, which throws off your entire day because you have to run several other errands before your party starts. The worst part about it is I called at 1:30 to check in on the cake. I could have been given a warning that it would be ready late. I could have planned to make other stops first. read more

We love Westchester Bakery! They are super friendly and when I called them to find out the price and design for my son's birthday cake they were very helpful. This is the second time ordering a birthday cake for my son. The first time they made him a fondant Spider-Man cake. For my son's 6th birthday, he's currently into Minecraft and they did a greet job on the cake. It was a smooth process to text them the image of the cake and also get the details. I ordered vanilla, white 1/4 sheet cake with fruits and it was delicious. Very light and fluffy and not too sweet. Just right for the kiddos and adults. The size was perfect as well! The 1/4 sheet cake is for around 20-25 kids and we eventually had some left over slices to take home after the party. Will definitely order from Westchester Bakery again! I ordered a cake from here for a farewell party. I literally had to call 44 times before they finally picked up the phone, which to me is crazy...!! I called 4 days before I had to pick up the order, I placed the order, paid for it, it was confirmed I was picking it up at 7:45am, then triple checked with the person placing my order on the order details, time of pick up and spelling and what the cake would say. Come to the day of, I came around 9:00 to pick up the cake expecting it to be ready because I said I will pick it up at 7:45.. for my party.. they said I never placed my order!! I showed them my receipt and ensured them I called and who I spoke to and who placed my order as it says on the receipt.. they looked into it further and said the cake is still being made. I am upset at this point because everything was paid for I expected to just pick up my cake and go but they not only didn't have my cake ready but said it wasn't ordered. Around 9:30 they come out with the cake.. Spelling was not even right on the cake and it was not even the the note i wanted on the cake!! The message I wanted on the cake was "thank you for all that you have taught me. I will miss my NICU family. With love, Vivian" This was not even CLOSE to what I wanted!! I am pretty upset at this point because the cake looks messy and it's not even spelled right, how can a bakery give something like this to their customer! It is my birthday today. I placed an order on January 24th, received confirmation they had the order, they charged my card, but did not bother to look at the order to even make the cake!!! Now they are telling me not only do I not have a cake for my birthday today but I cant get a refund until next weeks because it takes 4 to 5 business days!! Their excuse? They didn't see thr order.
