My family loves ice cream cake and we have a ton of nostalgia for carvel cakes from Giant. But sometimes you want to switch it up and Coldstone has great ice cream cakes. In terms of ice cream, their coffee chip/cookies n cream combo is the move.

Cold stone is my favorite ice cream spot! It's always reliable with it's flavor and consistency. The chocolate devotion is my go-to. It's chocolate ice cream with brownie, chocolate chips, and fudge. For an extra crunch you can add in a waffle cone and extra chocolate chips. The Like It (small) size is always a massive portion that I can't finish myself. I'm so glad that Northern Virginia has so many locations, and especially glad that there's a location so close to my house.

The Cold stone here is on the dirtier side. There were bugs flying in the brownie container. The workers here also seemed new and forgot our waffle bowl (we almost walked out paying for it with a regular cup). When we asked about it, they just handed a waffle cup to us.

"Everybody" container of ice cream, as it came from Cold Stone.

Very disappointed in the service at this Cold Stone. We're having a big Father's Day family dinner this weekend, and wanted ice cream for everyone. Ordered the "everybody" size to share, but when we got it home we found that it was only about 2/3 full. Very frustrating to spend over $15 for a container of ice cream and then find out (after tipping generously) that they shorted it. And yes, the attached photo is how it came, before anyone touched it.

Disgusting. Very dirty location. Food left all over the counters and the floor is so dirty black has settled into the grout.

Fyi order a Love It size and you'll get a Like It size in a Love it cup. Still pay for a Love It. And it's halfmelted when you get it.

Favorite ice cream place but disappointed to see the workers not using gloves when serving ice cream and mixing ice cream.

Baristas acknowledged our presence and continued making coffees for others, even though there were multiple baristas. I've been to several cafes that were much more overcrowded and have never waited so long just to be acknowledged, so this could've possibly been an understaffing problem or a task delegation problem, but regardless, it felt very uncomfortable to be waiting in line with several others just watching the baristas take care of other customers. Might have better luck ordering online for pickup even when sitting inside. Coffee was good, and their selection of drinks (alcoholic drinks , coffees, teas) is broad. Cheese danish was crispy, although cold despite my request for it to be heated up, and something about the cheese filling felt off. Likely wouldn't order again, but I'd definitely like to try some of their other pastries.

Coffee…read moreitself was rather acidic but espresso drinks with all the extras added were more appealing. Cute shop but service negatively affected the overall experience. Walking in, we liked the vibe. The place is tight on space and it gets very busy and crowded on weekends. This coffeehouse has potential, but they're not showing their best right now. Bait and switch: Based on their menu, we did not at all receive what we were anticipating. It sounded so delicious on the menu. However, what we got was not what was posted and not one of the staff told us that they were out of what we ordered. Not at the time of ordering, not while we waited forever to get our food, not when the food finally came out. Some food was brought to us, some sat out on the counter forever (because the buzzers don't work) where other customers picked up their orders. Who knows how much spit ended up on the food! We kept munching and kept thinking something is missing. We looked under the bread and didn't see what was stated on the menu so we finally asked and were told they were out of what we ordered. Absolutely unacceptable but useless at this point after waiting 20+ minutes for sandwiches and beverages and being faced by someone extremely unapologetic and unmotivated to correct the situation. So, prices definitely not worth what you get here. Hit or miss in terms of food and beverages for both quality and taste. Disappointing that the coffee was so sour and bitter tasting. Hoping for a nice smooth cup. Everything we ordered and customer service received here...unreliable at best. Worth the drive? Nope. If in the immediate area and needing caffeine, maybe, but definitely not worth going out of your way. Parking tight on the weekends. Was so hoping to love this place because we need more independent warm, cozy, welcoming coffeehouses. But service, food, coffee at this point were all very disappointing. Big improvements in all areas? Well, maybe we'll return and try again, but the poor first impression received on this visit will be hard to motivate a return in order to improve this rating and review.

You're looking at around $4.80-$10ish depending on what you get, whether that's a scoop, milkshake, or waffle bowl. * Dessert: We got an Oreo milkshake and a chocolate milkshake. The Oreo milkshake was great! My friend got the chocolate one and said it was a little too thick, so they had to let it sit for a bit to melt before they could really drink it. * Cleanliness/Setting: You order at a window and there's outdoor seating available. I like that you can see everything being made inside, and the outdoor seating was clean and well-kept. * Service: I ordered two milkshakes online around 7:30 PM to skip the line, but didn't get them until around 8:00 PM after reminding them. They hadn't even started the order, while people who arrived 20 minutes after us and ordered in line were already getting theirs. I think there needs to be a better system for handling online vs. in-person orders. I would've given them more grace if it had been as busy as the summer lines, but it really wasn't that busy when we went :(
