Cold Stone works by letting you choose a base ice cream flavor, then mixing in your choice of toppings on a frozen granite plate. They chop and fold everything together before serving it in a cup or cone. It's a fun gimmick, but in practice, it has some downsides--especially for people with allergies. Since they don't clean the mixing plate between customers, you'll end up with traces of whatever toppings the last person had, which is a big concern for anyone with peanut or other food allergies. The location itself wasn't very clean, and it's attached to a Planet Smoothie, which makes the space feel a little cramped. We came on a Saturday night at 8 PM, and it was severely understaffed. The employees were doing their best, but they were rushed and overwhelmed, which made the service slow. The ice cream itself is fine, but nothing special--it's exactly what you'd expect from a chain. If you're looking for better flavors and value, you're better off going to Bruster's. Overall, it's an okay spot if you just want the Cold Stone experience, but between the cleanliness issues, slow service, and allergy concerns, it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. read more

John's birthday is today and dad and his wife wanted to meet up to give him presents and ice cream is John's favorite treat! This location is ice cream and Planet Smoothie! It's huge inside too- I was very surprised! There are so many options that it makes me dizzy! Pumpkin, banana caramel crunch, Reeses Peanut Butter Cup- and so many more (those are the ones that stuck out to me. John went with birthday cake flavor in a waffle bowl, chocolate dipped with sprinkles! Dad got an oreo mix ice cream, Caron went with mint chocolate chip and I picked the Reeses with chocolate ice cream and added banana to it! The service wss atrocious and the team was oblivious. We placed an online order, showed up were completely ignored. After 10 minutes, not an exaggeration of my wife waiting at the counter not being acknowledged I turned the car off and came in. My wife explained that she and another lady were standing there being ignored. I raised my hand and was ignored so I walked up to the other end of the counter and asked for help explaining my wife had been waiting to which the associate responded " well, did you tell anyone you needed help" clearly the associate was under the impression that my wife and the other person chose coldstone to go and hangout at with no purpose. We got to sample all the flavors we wanted and both settled on cotton candy and sea salt sweet cream side-by-side in their small "like it" cup. This Cold Stone earns an A OK rating overall. Unique to this location - Rocky Mountain Chocolate and a lot of table space. I've been to a number of Cold Stone Creamery shops and your takeaway to either "like it, love it" or "leave it" (the store that is) is simply driven by customers' perceptions and experiences with: service by the staff, food quality to include portion size and store atmosphere / cleanliness. I waited to review until now based upon several visits to this store since it's grand opening. Having worked a couple of summers at Baskin Robbins during HS, I have been on the other side of the counter and realize first hand that good customer service goes a long way, inconsistent (especially skimpy) ice cream scoop portions and "Sticky" tables and trash cans bursting full are no-nos. To borrow from Cold Stone itself, this is a "like it" Store - good customer service is there at times but not always consistent; the size of the ice scream scoop portions are always dependent upon who scoops for you (inconsistent); and the store is well-kept and clean. I love this place- I mean, what isn't to love about ice cream? I know for a fact my kid loves it and even my brother in law who is a notorious snob is all about that sweet cream yo. (Yeah - definitely some obvious jokes there - that's for giving me a hard time Joe!) I have been in a few of these cold stones and typically they are staffed by barely post pubescent teens who are tired of making their 30th banana split of the night. The atmosphere in this store was great - warm - and welcoming, even though we came in right before closing. The product is top notch to boot. The ice cream and ingredients you can fold in are all of great quality and these guys will make anything you want in any way you want it. I can't say enough about this location, it is by far the best cold stone in town. Even the seating area is larger. In addition to the cool preparation and mixing technique that you get to observe, the whole customization experience is fun. We went with a group of 8 mid afternoon, mid week to celebrate a birthday and we all loved our ice cream selections. I shared the small size peanut butter perfection with my toddler and it was scrumptious. Plenty to share as the ice cream was so sweet! My other child had a kid size strawberry cone with sprinkles and gummy bears. She did not want the candy mixed in the ice cream so the very sweet employee offered to roll the ice cream in the sprinkles and put the gummy bears in a little cup. All employees were very friendly, the restaurant was very clean and had plenty of tables. Everytime I come to this location they mess up my order. I always get the Chocolate Almond Milk Icecream Milkshake and everytime I specify no dairy and the person working always puts cow's milk in it. I am very lactose intolerant so this is very aggravating. Even after I have them remake my ALMOND MILK ice cream milk shake with ALMOND MILK (like why would I get non-dairy icecream with dairy?) then they end up putting whip cream on it. Visited this Cold Stone Creamery opening week and it was terrific! The service was friendly, attentive and provided great quality ice cream for my little girls and I. There is also a Rocky Mountain candy store in-house and they had the best apple pie caramel apple. Definitely will be back to purchase gifts. Next to the movie theatre so makes for a great addition to a night out with the family. The owner, Carla, is so very nice and love that she has employed local teens and is training them up. Manager was rude to me. I worked as a bitesquad marketing Coordinator and I was trying to do my job and take a look at the tablet. Workers there handed me a phone and the manager told me who do I think I was. She told me I couldn't go behind the counter which was no problem I just needed to see the tablet. She continued to tell me how she doesn't know who I am and she would never let anyone behind the counter. I tried to say one more time that I just needed to see the tablet it could be brought to me.
