My family and I came here for dessert after Mother's day. We all wanted some ice cream and have been wanting this place, so we we went. We ordered 4 flights of ice cream, a total of 16 flavors of ice cream. From cookies n cream, chocolate chip cookie, marshmallow, salted caramel brownie, vanilla, cookie monster, the dough flavors, you name it. We wanted to try them. The look on the cashier's face was stunned and he was shocked asking if we are really sure about this. It was hilarious. Made our night. After trying all the flavors, I don't member them all, but I ended up loving the ones I thought I wouldn't like and didn't like the ones that I thought I would. I risked my life (okay, mild inconvenience) trying to find The Yard at night since the exterior signage lights weren't on. But like all great dessert adventures, it was worth it! Isaiah and Adam greeted me immediately & turned the lights on like I had just unlocked a secret level of milkshake access. They walked me through their menu, which is SO large it should probably come with a map and emotional support. I chose the Chocolate Cookie Craving, which had just hit the menu and hadn't even been made yet. So yes, I'm basically part of The Yard history now! The shop was spotless, decor was adorable, and they had plenty of utensils and straws available.. which is critical because these milkshakes are basically an Olympic sport! They even have a jar washing station so you can rinse out your glass jar and take it home. Honestly, that level of thoughtfulness deserves a standing ovation! While I was recuperating from surgery, my friend Debbie surprised me with the Salted Caramel Brownie milkshake, and I'm convinced it helped with my recovery--lol! This masterpiece features salted caramel brownie ice cream, caramel and chocolate drizzle, all served in a chocolate-iced jar rolled in dark chocolate shavings. This visit happened months ago. Yelp flagged it but it is a true story on our visit to this location. Do not go here. We came here with high hopes. We checked back three days in a row for the waiting line to be gone. We finally got there and was sadly disappointed. We ordered off the menu. We each changed one ingredient in the what we ordered. Thirty minutes later they are giving people that ordered after us their orders. When we questioned where our order was. No one had any idea. They took our recipes to go make the order. It took another twenty minutes before we got our order. They never returned our receipts. When we got the orders. They were not made the way we ordered them. Cute little shake/ice cream bar. Seating is quite limited but luckily we were able to snag the last table by the door. I love the option to view the menu via QR code. They sell Bluebell ice cream which is pretty sweet for my tastebuds but it was still nice. Wholly overkill Batman! A picture of this place needs to put into the Dictionary next to the word Decadent, and I love it! We got "small" versions of the Rainbow Chip Brownie, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, and the Mint Green Monster. Without going into detail for each of the bowls... the ice cream and toppings were great. My favorite was the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. The "small" had an entire piece of cheesecake in it. The only complaint for me is that there were three employees working at this location preparing what appeared to be six different orders. Me and the family visited The Yard Milkshake Bar this past Sunday and let me tell you that this place is legit. We arrived about 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line forming. Once the doors opened we got in and drooled in awe at all the different selections. We ended up with a kids unicorn cup and a Brookie cup. The kid really enjoyed the unicorn; it was like jet fuel once the sugar hit. Me and the mrs split the Brookie cup complete with a whole fudge brownie and cookie atop cookie dough ice cream. They're Milkshakes are definitely bringing all the boys (and girls) to The Yard. Soft Opening is Monday (5/16) through Thursday (5/19) and Grand Opening is Friday (5/20) through Sunday (5/22). They feature 30 flavors of Hershey's ice cream. They also have edible cookie dough. What makes them special are their Specialty Shakes, which for $5 more you get a mason jar that you can keep. They even have a jar rinse bar where you can rinse and take home your jar. Walking in, we originally intended to order a Specialty Shake but none of us were prepared for a Sugar Coma, so Option B, we opted for ice cream instead. I waited almost an hour in a line outside in the heat to try this icecream and so you better believe I had high expectations. I also brought three others with me. I'll say first and foremost that there just is not enough inside seating. People were standing while eating waiting for anyone to leave their seat. I do understand that they're new and this will probably dwindle down. But for now, it's not enough. The staff is awesome. They were really working hard to make sure everyone got their icecream promptly given the high demand and everyone was super nice and keeping the place clean. The location in the town center is awesome! The town center needs a new icecream spot :) They do have a lot to choose from in regards to flavors and toppings. They offer lactose options too which was nice. My brother is lactose and said that the icecream was nothing different from anything else he'd tried before. The icecream is very desirable to look at. Without a doubt the presentation is 10/10. But as a dessert lover, this icecream didn't taste particularly better than any other icecream I've tried. There was a certain favor to it that I didn't love. I'm not sure what it was but nobody in my party even finished their icecream. It doesn't taste like what you'd get from any other popular icecream place. But that may be what sets them apart to others. I'm sad to say, but I was just unimpressed. This is a place where the long lines are understandable. I went during the week in the middle of the day so no line. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Welcome to sample any and many flavors. So far, the Deep Dish Apple Pie ice cream is my new flavor addiction. Various flavors of ice cream and a multitude of milkshakes, sundaes and cookie dough options to choose from. You can substitute ice cream for a preferred flavor if you want to but a spin on it to your taste. I had the Sunshine Shake and it definitely brightened up my day. The owner is very welcoming and told me the backstory to this creation. This is exclusive to Jacksonville only. So if you have to travel far for it, I think you'll be satisfied. It was so good, I finished it down to the glass bottom. Souvenir glass jar is optional. If you've been, try a new flavor. Yes, it sounds weird on paper but it tastes good for your taste buds soul. HOT & NEW! This place just opened last week and it is THE place to be! Line for us was down to the PGA super store. They have staff outside limiting who can go into the store and when. I got a bowl with the Brooke batter specialty, which was really good! The presentation was fantastic and I really enjoyed the cookie dough portion of this desert. I shared mine because the portions are very large. I would come again if I was in town center area. I'd like to try the popsicles and cookie doughs. The line for us was about 30-40 minutes. I actually left my friend in line and went shopping in Best Buy. The line hadn't moved when I retired. I can't imagine a world where milkshakes don't get a 5 star review, and fortunately, today is not that day. The Yard Milkshake Bar is a new addition to the St. Johns Town Center area. It's a small space, but the crowds were managed beautifully. The staff member working controlled the line by allowing a few guests in at a time, and having the rest wait outside in line. This way, the milkshake makers have time to place orders and make their creations, and everyone have a fair shot at snagging a table and eating comfortably without waiting customers in their space. It was super efficient. I wish I was able to try everything but it just wasn't possible. Our son went for a simple cappuccino crunch milkshake, and my husband and I split the green mint monster. Y'all. Ours was nothing short of epic: the glass was rimmed with neon green marshmallow and chocolate cookie crumbs, and full of minty milkshake. The whole thing was topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and a super fudgy brownie. It was way too thick for a straw. The Yard features a washing station, so you can clean your glass shake jars and take them home. It's a nice perk for the $17 price tag on those signature shakes (the regular ones and plain ice creams are much more reasonable). me and my friends went here for the glinda and elphaba ice cream, and one of my friends is blind and needs her guide dog so she had her with us. we were told 15 minutes after we had entered the establishment that my friend could not have her dog in there. when we politely said its her guide dog, they said theres nothing they could do about it, and that its the owner's rules. we are not upset with that worker at all, we understand she couldnt do anything about it. but being forced to leave because my friend is blind and has a literal service dog is unfair and non inclusive. she should be allowed to have the same experience as everyone else (sitting inside with her well behaved and registered service animal) we hope that this message reaches the owners and spurs a change of heart on this issue, as it is hurtful and definitely makes us unsure about returning in the future. keep in mind, this breaks ADA rules! also there are customer reviews of how "dog friendly and accommodating" The Yard is, but this is not what we experienced. read more

They have ice cream, milkshakes, and edible cookie! The first time I came here I got the Cookie Monster specialty bowl. I wasn't a fan of the whipped cream. It reminded me of cool whip. Which I prefer real whipped cream. The ice cream was really good! There were Oreo and cookie dough pieces in it. There were cookie cereal pieces and a edible cookie dough sandwich on top as well. WARNING: your tongue and mouth will be blue . I couldn't finish it because there was a lot of sugar going on. But I do suggest if you get a bowl have a HUGE sweet tooth or be ready to share. My teenage girls and I went to the Yard milkshake bar yesterday with my girls. Milkshakes are $17 each and include a keepsake jar-type glass. There is a deep sink available to wash them out and bags provided to wrap them up and take them home. The milkshakes are delicious and though pricey, the experience is well worth the money. The line is usually long but moves at a good pace. Service was friendly and warm. If you don't want a milkshake, you can get the same fancy order as a ice cream in a bowl for around $12.
