I really wanted to have some ice cream from nearby and because of how late it was and not wanting to venture out myself I ordered some through a delivery app. I got the Medium Waffle Bowl with Blueberry Cobbler, Cake Batter, Banana and Sprinkles. I see that I wrote about having Cake batter before and it was good, but that Blueberry Cobbler is where it's at. Call me old-fashioned, but I like a good dessert turned ice cream. We love Bruster's and we were happy to discover it when we moved to Jacksonville three years ago. My hubby loves an ice cream cake for his birthday. This year it turned out that it was just going to be the two of us after we spent a long weekend at a resort near by and I realized I had failed to order his cake. Most years we are away and I had not ordered one locally since we moved to Jacksonville. I called Bruster's on Monday afternoon requesting a cake for Tuesday and the owner, Tom, was so accommodating and though they could not make one on that short notice, he had one that worked perfectly. My husband was so happy with this cake and said it was the best ice cream cake he had ever had! They can make lots of combinations accordingly to their menu but need a 48 hour notice. But they do have a nice selection that is ready to go for short notice needs. Tom was so nice and I have shared with lots of friends that they do cakes and they say they didn't know that. Despite it being a chain, we did enjoy trying out Bruster's in JAX recently! What was cool was that we ordered ahead of time and dropped by when our ice cream was ready. There's certainly a ton of flavors, cups, cones, milkshakes, and other options to choose from which was a bonus. I haven't had Bruster's in almost a decade! There used to be one around the corner from where I used to live and I would take the kids for ice cream after scouts- yes, I did say almost a decade. This visit was with my adult son, who treated me! He wanted ice cream and I thought of a few different places when I remembered that Bruster's was the closest! We parked and approached the front to take a look at all the options and I saw a banana split that looked doable! I haven't had a banana split in years! Eddie opted for a mango freeze and we happily sat and enjoyed our treats. I was told I had to eat 2/3's of mine- because I pre-emptively asked for help. I almost never finish my ice cream- I know, I know- there's something wrong with me. John was so jealous when I told him we went out for ice cream without him! Eddie finished mine and his large freeze with no problem. The girl who helped us was friendly and fast and struggled with the glass sliding door before taking our order- my son was laughing. Later when we were finished eating I failed to mention to Eddie that he had ice cream on his beard as he waved by to the young lady he had earlier laughed about.... That warranted a "MOM!" when he saw his reflection at the car. I figured she didn't need to be the only one embarrassed. Pro-tip: always wipe your mouth after eating ice cream! read more

First I have never had any issues with this establishment until my last two visits. The last one was last Saturday. I called in advance to inquire about the walnuts that would go over the soft serve ice cream to see if it was a new batch. The lady told me the containers were changed often. When my husband and I arrived, I ordered a soft serve vanilla ice cream with wet nuts. We ate when we arrived home. I open the lid and a big glob of walnuts was on the top that actually looked like a puck. I actually picked the whole thing up! The syrup was hard, hence the walnuts being the same. I was disappointed to say the least. I couldn't eat it. That was my final trip. If someone asks about an issue, it should be checked into and handled immediately for better customer service. read more

It's not bad, but I will definitely customize the order to my liking. While the pineapple was an okay addition, it's just not my cup of tea. The menu is varied enough that I'll be back here. This place is a cute little store on the corner of Kernan and Atlantic Blvd. Not only does it have a walk-up window to order at but it also has a drive thru, super convenient. There was a plethora of flavors to pick from, even my most recent favorite Ube. I ended up ordering two scoops, one sea salt caramel and one of the peanut butter with candies inside of it. Both ice-creams were very creamy and had excellent texture! The peanut butter was definitely my favorite. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sea salt caramel, it was a bit too salty and tasted like it was made with straight table salt. But everyone else's flavors that I tried were good!
