It must have been at least a decade+ since I made it to a Coldstone Creamery. Truth be told, I probably didn't visit this location since my high school days. As old as I am, I was craving some ice cream and didn't really want to eat anything at home or venture out to Princeton to my all-time favorite Halo Pub. Therefore, I decided to venture out to Coldstone. To give some background: outside of CVS and the one-time roller rink now turned to Indian grocery stores, this shopping plaza is really dead. Back like 15+ years ago when this was originally built, there was potential. There was a Quiznos at one point and even a gym that was somewhat popular. All those things are gone, but Coldstone is the only food place that remains. Yes, there's a UPS store, a martial arts school, benjamin moore, etc etc, but this mall could've used a restaurant. Same issue with the older shopping mall where Confectionately Yours sticks out. With that said, foot traffic wasn't too bad. I arrived shortly before 9:45, 15 minutes before closing. I wish it was open till 11, but I understand that I guess. Anyhow, it's nice and clean. I settled with the "Like It" size ice cream. I basically ended up creating a cookies n creme ice cream (oreo filling creme + oreo cookies). Not too bad. There were some larger groups ahead of me, which slowed the assembly line a bit. However, my server turned around my ice cream within a couple minutes. Not bad. At $5.19, it's PRICEY.... but isn't everything? I came home to eat the ice cream. It really wasn't that bad. The like it size is more than plenty, but do make sure to properly stir the ice cream so you even out the toppings. All in all, I'll be back at some point. read more

I've gone to Cold Stone a couple of times. I think three times. When I signed up, they gave me an offer of a buy one get one free, and when I say signed up, I mean, opened up the app and set up an account. The price of the ice cream is deafly a little bit on the expensive side, but it is absolutely delicious! I think the best around. But, it only makes sense to go there if you have some sort of deal through the app. Sometimes they'll send you buy one get one free. Recently for Halloween they actually said free one cup ice cream for children, which I thought was terrific. Took two of my boys there and got them free ice cream, I bought a small one for myself, but that was an exceptional deal. I will continue to go as long as send coupons for a deep discount or to buy one get one free, otherwise the pricing is way too high. But once again, lots of options, very, very delicious ice cream. read more

Cold Stone in Kendall Park is in a quiet mall and the portions were generous whenever I walked in. Very spacious inside and service was ok. One time I ordered for delivery for me and my mom. There was one order missing. I called the location to send my missing order. I didnt want a refund, I wanted the ice cream order. The guy on the phone told me to order a small (again) and he'd send over a large. So that meant that I'd still have to eat up the cost of the previous order that was not delivered. I was very disappointed but did order because it was my mom's (who had cancer) ice cream that was missing. I won't order for delivery from Cold Stone in the future. read more

This is my favorite place to get ice cream. Definitely expect this place to be a bit busier during the warmer months. Even still, I don't mind waiting for the ice cream. There are so many different ice cream flavors and toppings, it might be a bit hard to choose what you want. They do let you sample different flavors, which is really nice. I love how there are signature recipes that you can try. Or, if you want to be creative, you can create your own ice cream fixture with toppings of your choice. My favorite is the birthday cake remix, and depending on how I'm feeling, I'll switch from cake batter ice cream to strawberry ice cream. While the ice cream is great, a medium cup is $6-$7, which is very expensive for ice cream in my opinion. Because of this, I'm not able to visit as often as I would like. read more

It was a small event, so we needed only the 6-inch, which looked like 4. Nonetheless, I asked in writing if I might add birthday wishes along with the name and age on the cake. After paying $50 for the cake and delivery fees for such a small cake, it was terrible! The cake was stale and chewy, and nothing was written on the cake! I called the store and was told there was nothing they could do unless I could bring the cake to the store. How about: We apologize for the error. We went there on Saturday, and I ordered their Dough-lightful Peanut Butter (cookie dough ice cream with Reese's cups and peanut butter) and it was very good! Their many options gives a good variety and a possible indecisiveness to choose just one flavor:) The employees are also nice people. I see the sign as I'm driving by and I have fond memories of how great Cold Stone used to be and how my family would drive all the way to Menlo Mall because that was the only one around. So I make a little detour and go in. And then I'm disappointed. Maybe it's just this particular franchise but the service is ok, the quality is ok and the prices are astronomical. Just because they smoosh the ice cream around with the big scoop doesn't justify it costing $3 for a tiny cup with one topping.
