So we ordered a cake for my brother in law birthday few weeks ago and the strawberry velvet cake was gross. The cake part tasted dry/stale I didn't wanted to say anything because it was his birthday. So no one said anything about the the cake was not good!!! But we did kind of agree that maybe we had to wait until til it's not that cold so the velvet dough part will become un hard. Today 3/30/2024 I stopped by and wanted to get a soft serve and they had none so I got the cheese cake fantasy and found hair!!!! I knew something was sketchy about this place!!!! Greeted me right when I walked through the door and answered all of my questions like she knew the place like the back of her hand. Cold Stone is lucky to have a worker like her manning the ship. Ice cream was great thankfully. Last time I went it seemed like teenagers raided behind the counter and had no idea how to deal with customers. Despite it being Father's Day the waits were not long and the food was good. Unfortunately they didn't have all the selections on their website such as the mojito sherbet. There was however frozen almond milk as an option as well as some unusual flavors like Peeps. Calorie counts are shown and helpful information. Outdoor seating options would be nice. I just went in here a couple days ago and waited around and the place felt abandoned. I was about to leave when finally someone came to help. The ice cream was not good. The store ran out of cups with their logo on them. I was unable to purchase anything that comes in a cup. No spoons either (because cooperate won't allow the long handle spoons that were in stock) . I suggested they buy plain cups ( so people can at least buy something) No , they were not allowed to go out and buy plain cups. So people were being turned away. Supervisor, or at least he thought he was, spent all his time reprimanding the other worker, micro the cookies 5 seconds not 10 or they'll melt! Never answer the phone if there are people in the store, i dont care if its the president of the united states, then, NO put those cookies back in for another TEN SECONDS! Begrudgingly helping customers who ordered apologetically and declined add-ins because he seemed too busy. This evening I had a bad experience at this Cold Stone here in Leominster MA. Tonight working was a teenage male and an older woman with dark hair and dark eye make up. I was behind a customer who was trying to make friendly conversation with her while she was making an ice-cream and she completely ignored the customer, leaving that customer to awkwardly laugh it off. A few minutes later my partner was politely trying to ask the woman working for napkins. She was looking down and straight up ignoring that he was talking to her. My partner said "excuse me" 5 times (he has a loud and clear voice) and she ignored every single one. My partner honestly thought she had a hearing disability but I knew she was just being extremely rude and letting her emotions control her. Her coworker even mentioned her name and she finally responded to my partner and said "one second". You could visible tell she was in a bad mood, which I understand we can have our bad days, but it is a problem when you bring it to work and treat your customers poorly. You could feel her negative energy and you can tell her coworker walks on eggshells. Very poor and rushed service also (the kid was trying to rush his orders because she was doing online orders). Hopefully she sleeps on her left side because she clearly woke up on the floor. I also really encourage the manager to talk to this specific team member. I know there are virtual counseling sessions she can call up or do some deep belly breathing because with that attitude and rude customer service, she's going to come across the wrong customer..lol. read more

We've been going for almost 10 years and their ice cream is consistently good. We order their cakes at least 3-4 times a year and they're always sooo good. However this week, thanks to Alex we were able to order a last minute special cake while store was closed due to Covid hours. Alex made it work for us to make our daughters special day perfect! Awful customer service and prices. Ordered a Father's Day cake. Ordered a small, said oh sorry we had too many orders, couldn't make any small cakes. Ordered it online, no phone call, paid for it. Said I would have to wait 7-10 business days for a refund. Then stated, "Your welcome to pick something from the freezer." Not only were they rude, they were callous and overworked by the nasty owner. I will never go there again. DQ, Meolas, Kimball Farms, Sterling, even a Carvel from Hanniford would be better. We moved out to the Leominster area from Boston and decided to try this place last summer. Wow, we were floored at how awful this ice cream was. My daughter and I both threw away our cones after a few licks. Now we were spoiled in Boston, and only patronized the really top ice cream places (we are snobs), but this place compares unfavorably with Brighams and Friendly's, which are not exactly gourmet ice cream joints. Ordered my sons TNMT cake three weeks in advance in January for February b'day party. Email was sent to me after the very detailed conversation in regards to cake. We were supposed to pick up the cake Sunday but it was closed due to the snow. I called Monday and told them I we would be in the following Tuesday, they said that was fine and that the cake was done. So, sometime after noon we showed up and the cake was not done. I nearly lost my sh#t. The manager was nice enough to deliver but was an hour late. Ok, so the cake was NOTHING like I had ordered. Remind you, this was a $52.00 cake. Nothing was as it was ordered, noting. I asked for a discount and he generously gave me a whooping $3.00 off cake.The following morning I check my banking account and he not only charged my FULL price but a mysterious charge of $2.85, like a tip maybe?? So, I called him and he accused me of stealing a $3.00 candle and was a prick on the phone. Customer service was shameful. The cake was gross, nothing like I had ordered.
