I don't know if it was just me or if she had a lot of orders but my cake's taste (Very standard vanilla cake with vanilla frosting) was pretty bad. No one in our group of 10 ate much of the cake after the 1st bite, and because it was a family affair, people felt pretty comfortable in saying it tasted really bad. We had a whole conversation about it during dessert. I know I personally cannot order from her again. I only post this because it would've helped me had I have known. 17 5-stars is very misleading here. Again it could've been just my cake. Which is still unfortunate for me.

Wow, I have nothing but great things to say about Paola's cakes! My family and I hosted a…read moregraduation party for my sister completing her Ph.D. and we wanted to get a custom cake. After some research, I found Paola and her cakes looked BEAUTIFUL! I contacted Paola about two weeks before my event and was excited to hear that she was available. I wasn't sure of the exact design I wanted, but I wanted a cross between a science themed and graduation themed cake and Paola was confident she could make that happen. Paola is really quick to respond to emails, calls and texts and was really patient and informative in answering any question I had. Payment was quick and easy, I was able to Venmo her directly (50% before to book the cake, and the other 50% when I received the cake). She was flexible and offered to deliver the cake to my event for a per mile fee which made my life a LOT easier. When the cake arrived it was AMAZING! It incorporated science and graduation while still being an elegant design. 5 STARS! I definitely recommend Paola! I hope to get more custom cakes from her in the future!

First, the fresh fruit section was small and the fruit was very expensive. So, I deducted a star. But, the store itself was pretty large. I did buy some strawberries and bananas. The surprises came in the ready to eat section. There was a ton of homemade soups, which looked delicious. I thought the prepared salads also looked really tasty. I ended up leaving with a Greek salad, which was fresh and delicious. Lots of feta cheese, lettuce, red peppers, olives and Greek dressing. Another, pleasant surprise was the bread section. There were a lot of freshly made breads. I bought a sourdough bread that was really good. It was hard to choose from the many different selections. So each to recycle, why not add some? I will suggest it to the organizers. There weren't many shaded places to sit and eat, so it would have been nice to have some popup tents and benches, but I know, I know: who's gonna pay for that? I tried a cupcake from a local baker and a smoothie from a food truck, tasted some rum from a spot out in Frederick, had a $4 chai from an Indian food booth, and ordered some empanadas to go.
