My wife and I stopped here because it was close to where we were and had solid ratings. The location has a cool vibe, it's a quaint, 200-year-old historic house tucked into the small strip mall where the Roots Market is. There are a couple of seats downstairs and a bit more seating upstairs. My wife ordered a plain bagel, toasted, with lox cream cheese. It was toasted well and the flavor of the spread was good, though we both agreed we wish it had been actual lox with regular cream cheese rather than just a flavored spread. I ordered the pancakes with a side of bacon. Let me start with the bacon: I thoroughly enjoyed it. People always ask, "How can someone mess up bacon?" Trust me, I've had messed up bacon before! But this was cooked perfectly. The pancakes, on the other hand, were a letdown. Given the homemade, historic cafe vibe, I was expecting a customized, from-scratch mix. Instead, they were incredibly generic--they actually tasted exactly like McDonald's pancakes. I was hungry, so I ate them, but they weren't what I expected. I always drove by this place on my way to work & I finally stopped by to check it out By far this was one of my favorite tuna sandwiches because although it was simple it was quite delicious. I love that they have plenty of options for toppings, my toppings I added were lettuce, onions, tomato, hot pepper relish, Russian dressing, and Gouda. My friend and I had lunch here yesterday. This was my first time. Sisters is located up the stairs from the parking lot and strip mall with Roots, Wells Fargo, and Starbucks on Georgia Avenue. They have plenty of patio seating with umbrellas and a view of Georgia Avenue in the front and the strip mall in the back. You order at the counter and get a table marker and food is delivered to you. I ordered the Mediterranean wrap with grilled chicken but the chicken wasn't very grilled or seasoned and the overall sandwich felt quite dry. I probably would order something different next time as their menu is diverse, and I hear their breakfast is delicious! The service was friendly and punctual. read more

This place is so cute and unique in Olney and DMV. I would really to recommend everyone come and visit if you have a chance. The location is very convenient. Not only it is a nice place for gourmet sandwiches and salads but the highlight is their ambient make you feel like homey where you can enjoy your meal among a backyard with outdoor tables. If you want more privacy, they also offer dinning table inside too. I was craving a Reuben sandwich & also wanted to try Sisters Sandwiches. I enjoyed the Reuben after I added more Russian dressing to it. There was minimal sauerkraut on it. The sandwich did what I needed it to do - satisfied a craving! The bread was soft, meat was just right, not salty. Coming back from a Dr's appointment the husbae and wanted breakfast since it was still early and like typical husbae he found Sisters Sandwiches and Such. He said it had good ratings, ok let's check it out! I ordered the bagel with cream cheese and lox, I didn't realize it was cream cheese lox (mixed together). I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for actual slices of lox. Nonetheless it was tasty. I asked that the bagel be extra toasty, they did a great job. Husbae ordered his favorite, pancakes and bacon. I tried the pancakes and was like ok, a little tough and just ok, definitely not IHOP pancakes. The bacon had a hint of sweetness to it, and they cooked several slices into one slice, weird . Overall this intimate spot was ok. It was clean and the staff was nice. I was here one time during Covid in June 2020 and of course ate outside on at least a nice warm day but not too hot that day. As I recall, the inside area was small and nicely decorated, and they had plenty of outside seating, maybe more outside seating than inside (even not counting that indoor dining was off the table in Montgomery County in June 2020). We tried two new sandwiches this time. What we got: The Smasher - 4* great taste but you'll want to eat this one fast! The chips, obviously, get soggy if left in too long and the crunch is a vital part of the sandwich. The Ham Slam - 3* I like trying chutney on my sandwiches and their chutney was pretty good. Drove by this place on Georgia Ave. in the Olney neighborhood all the time, never did get a chance to try it out until lately. The place is basically a tiny old house with lots of outdoor seating. It's kind of unique & has its charm, no wonder I saw lots people eating at the outdoor areas when the weather is nice. The menu has a huge selections and the sandwiches are decent. Prices are a bit high especially the various to-go salad ($7.50 for a tiny container). Nothing came with the sandwich except a pickle. Ordered from them a couple of times and each time was better than the last. I absolutely love their sandwiches especially The Terminator. I also liked The Great Albert Rueben sandwich. The Terminator sandwich consisted of meatloaf that was super moist. Loved that everything was freshly made to order. I also like that they put the pickle separately from the rest of the sandwich just to keep the pickle moist and prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy. The place is a small cozy cabin. I love that cafe feel without the loud noise. I am not surprised that one could easily miss it as it looks like a house in the middle of a shopping center. Service: Amazing! Staff is great. Reconsider if you are thinking of order catering. Difficult to reach the appropriate person, and even after confirming multiple times, I showed up to pick up food an hour before my event and they couldn't find the order. They then found it and said what are we going to do - The 'Guy" wrote the wrong day of week on the order. They did make the food, it took 50 minutes and I arrive at my event after the guests had arrived. The food was good but the tone of the event ruined with a rush to set up, Also no bag to carry it out, no urgency to help and not even a serving spoon (without asking) to serve the bowl of pasta salad. If you are going to offer catering service, then know how to do it. So dissappointed as their sandwiches are good. Not worth the stress. read more

We got there right before a crowd, so ordering ahead is probably advisable. They had two items marked vegan, so I got the half/half veggie soup and wrap. They were both totally ok. While not amazingly life changing to my taste buds, not everything has to be. It was a solid hummus and veggie wrap and tomato-based veggie soup. The food is good, not great. I had a chicken sandwich on a baguette. It was large and the prices are reasonable. Large sandwiches in the $12-15 range. I also shared a warm Brie appetizer with friends. I could see they only had a microwave oven to warm the Brie which resulted in an uneven melting. All the sandwiches were a la carte even chips were extra. The only service there is they will carry your order up steep stairs to a tiny dining room seating only about a dozen. If you are physically challenged you can not eat in here. It is set in an old house now used as a restaurant with limited if any remodeling. If you are looking for good, not great, sandwiches to go this is an option. I would recommend going to Full On Craft Eats and Drinks which is only about a mile away. All of their ingredients are house made. The sandwiches are more creative. They all come with house made chips and they have great Onion Rings. FIRST TIMER REVIEW FOOD- I got the Smasher sandwich (minus bacon for me) and Uncle Russels Egg Salad sandwich. The Smasher came out warm and after my first bite I was in love!! I would definitely get this flavorful Turkey sandwich again. They've smothered it with some BBQ mayo sauce and my taste buds were a huge fan!!! Totally recommend. Now on the other hand, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Egg Salad Sandwich. I think it was a little bland and the onions were the kind that left a not so good after taste in your mouth. Have gum handy for this one. SERVICE- very quick staff. Took orders and brought orders out. I recommend ordering ahead of time or at least knowing what you want before you come in. AMBIANCE- boutique style sandwich shop. Seating outside and inside upstairs. If you're coming in for a sit down meal, there seems to be a variety of soup to enjoy as well. When I have time, I will definitely try some out. I definitely will keep this as my go-to sandwich shop for when I'm headed to work. Had lunch at Sisters Sandwiches on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Place has indoor seating and a large outside seating area. One nice thing about the outside seating is that there is a table with a large iced water container available during your visit. The restaurant inside first floor is small, with inside dining available upstairs. Nice selection of sandwiches available, including design-your-own. We got two sandwiches, the steak special (the day's special - with Philly steak, grilled onion and peppers, lettuce tomato and mayo on toasted french bread - $13.25) and The Smasher (roast turkey, bacon, provolone, bbq chips, ranch and mayo on multigrain bread - $12.85). Both were delicious and large enough for us to each eat half and take the other half home later for dinner. I thought the chips, ranch and mayo would possibly make a mess on The Smasher, but everything held together and combined well taste-wise. We also got a container of cole slaw, which was very good - not too mayonaise-y as you find in some commercial slaws. On the way out, a container of hummus caught my eye. I asked if it was made in-house and was told that it is purchased, put in containers and dusted by them with paprika. I got it anyway and it was good later at home. I like the place. The folks were friendly, the sandwiches delicious and ample and enough variety to make it easy to come back. On a nice day, it's a pleasant outside area for seating. They also have soups available that I was tempted to try and probably will at our next visit. They also serve salads and are open with a breakfast menu. We came here because we had a coupon from the Taste of MoCo cookbook and then promptly forgot to pull it out when we ordered. So guess we'll be going back, but that's fine, because we enjoyed it. The biggest winner was the potato salad, one of the best I've had in a long time. It's mayo based, with a good amount of dill, and a touch possibly of horseradish as it had just a teeny bit of kick. Made with red potatoes which are my preference. My husband had their special, which was some kind of chicken sandwich, forgot what all was on it, but he enjoyed it. It had pesto so I didn't try it. I had the egg salad which had a cutesy name I've now forgotten, it came on marbled rye with lettuce, onion, tomato and a pickle on the side. It was quite good. I would have preferred the rye a bit more toasted, it was just slightly warm and still soft - I like my rye crunchy - and even better buttered & grilled rather than popped in the toaster. Luckily, I only ate half so I can make this happen tomorrow with the other half. They have a variety of desserts that looked delish that we didn't try this time, and a bunch of the other sandwiches also sounded good. The seating is kind of minimal and rather crowded together upstairs, I couldn't help but bump people going in and out. I think it will be better in the summer when you can eat on the patio and spread out a bit. They have a soda fountain (including coke zero!) which sadly we didn't notice til we'd grabbed a bottle and paid. Ooops. If it were closer to home I'd be here frequently for lunch and to pick up potato salad to accompany my husband's meat smoking festivities, but it's a little far from us except for weekends. read more
