One of the first locations I have been to. Simply decides to leave the store and put a note on the door stating that they will be back in 10 minutes. 45 minutes to an hour later after four people are at the door, knocking trying to figure out what's going on employee decides to come back. Not a care in the world and has an attitude like the customers are a burden. Most of the customers who went and came right back out to satisfied myself included. I don't know why a stuck around, but I went to get a shake and of course they are out of milk. Good luck on the heavyset ladies's face with reddish hair was like too bad so sad. Oh well, move on. Went to cold stone earlier in the day with my little brother and found a bug inside our ice cream. Didn't want to make a scene as it's not serious, so we waited until people were not in the building to let the workers know we found a bug in the ice cream and that we no longer wanted it. I asked the "manager" with pink in her hair her kindly for a refund saying we found that bug and were no longer interested in having said ice cream and she refused saying it's against company policy and that they were a franchise. She then tells me she can get me another scoop of ice cream but finding that bug in our ice cream turned us off for ice cream. I told her I am not interested in another scoop of ice cream and she tells us that's all she can do. I get upset at this point restating to her that there's a bug inside our ice cream and we don't know if there's more and don't want to find out. Very annoyed with how this interaction played out knowing that the "manager" is able to give a refund, especially if they were the ones who are at fault, and she lied to me saying she couldn't. My boyfriend found this plastic bit in his ice cream when he bit down and hurt his tooth. And if that wasn't bad enough my friend found this huge chunk of cookie dough that not only tasted odd but was so hard she began to knock on the table with it. The interaction with the guy who checked us out also came off very passive aggressive. Once we confronted them about the plastic and expressed our concern about broken equipment the guy replied "well that's definitely plastic" VERBATIM, and proceeded to take the plastic to the back and not return or tell us anything. I'm only giving this a two star because of the manager I saw yesterday. It was December 1st around 1:15 pm when I came in to get ice cream. There was only one employee working with his manager, the employee was very kind, absolutely adored him, but the manager had no sense of urgency. This employee was the only one working and the line started getting huge. That's a lot of work for one person who has to chop up the ice cream and get the orders right. Recently I noticed a "Now Hiring" sign in their window, so I submitted my application. I waited about a week or so before I did my normal follow-up call to show my interest in the role. Well when I did so, the manager (or whoever made it very clear they were the one going through applications) was quite rude. She said to me: "Im the one who goes through applications and if i feel like i want to go through with you I will." With an obvious attitude. Now ive been told this plenty of times before. Came in with my daughter and I could tell that there were way more employees but they were all staying in the back. They saw me and other people walk in and began to glare and immediately left rather than helping us. Seemed very lazy and just didn't want to help us whatsoever. Kept poking their heads out as more customers came in but then would return to the back and left only one employee on his own. We were helped by this one employee Daniel who was an extremely helpful young man and waited for us the entire time rather than leaving like everybody else. Went in today on July 29th at 6 pm and the 2 girls and guy working in there seemed absolutely miserable. I mean there was NO AC in there so maybe that was a contributing factor in the absolute despair in their faces when we walked in. We weren't even sure if they were open when we walked in, they were all 3 huddled in the corner. And when they spoke to us it was hard to even hear or understand them.
