My grandson and I love going here for a tasty treat after I pick him up from school. The same young woman is there every time and she makes our orders to perfection! My grandson, being more adventurous than I, always tries something new, but I want to know that I'm going to enjoy what I purchase, so I ALWAYS get the cake batter ice cream with yellow cake pieces and raspberries-SO GOOD!! Although I must admit that I found the new seasonal flavor, the honey cornbread with blackberry jam, surprisingly delicious! I come here often and spend a lot of money. Today 2/6/26 I went in around 1:30 and there was one Hispanic girl with glasses working. She was so rude and not friendly at all. She didn't say hello and just had a look in her face like she was annoyed that I went inside. Anyway I had a big order and I tried to tell her and before I could finish she rudely cut me off and asked with an attitude "what's next" I was trying to tell her to put my ice cream in the freezer as she prepared the next ones so they wouldn't melt. She didn't even let me tell her that and just continued asking "what's else" so I just went on with my order. She didn't talk to me at all when I tried to make conversation so it was super awkward. My ice cream was all melted by the time I got to my car..the cups were covered in melted ice cream and she didn't even clean them so I was so sticky covered in melted ice cream. I order a big pint and she didn't even add the small cups for serving. I spent almost $60 for melted ice cream. This could have been avoided if she would have let me finish my sentence. I order 2 "gotta have it" 2 "love it" and the $19.99 pint. All melted so that was super annoying. I wanted to walk out because she was so rude and her customer service was at a zero. I wish I got her name but once I paid I just wanted to leave to get my kids ice cream in the freezer. If I go back to this location and she's there I'll just drive to Modesto. This wasn't a good experience for as much money as I spent. I also wish I took a picture of everything to post it, but when I got to my car, I cleaned everything up myself. read more

First time ever going to this cold stone and last time as well. Went and ordered four ice creams one child size the rest "I Like It" size which is a size bigger than child. Asked for them to be covered got into my car and went to give it to my family. Imagine my surprise when I start handing them out that two of them are child size and yet again my surprise that nope all of them are child size but were put into the bigger cup to make it seem as if it was the bigger size I asked for. Now if I had paid for the child size then fine. But no I paid full price for the big size and yet got a child one. Completely unacceptable. This Cold Stone is located in such a nice shopping center in Riverbank. We're in this area often and we can find a variety of all of the things we need and one of them is this ice cream stop! It was busy but not too busy when we walked in and we only stood in line for 5 minutes. Alejandra helped us and she was so kind and helpful! We changed our order half way through making it and she adapted so quickly and even asked if we were satisfied with how it tasted. When we told her it was delicious she responded, "Okay, good." And that little response made such a statement to me. How many times do people really stop and ask if you're satisfied? Lol, it's the kind of things I appreciate in customer service! I have a severe peanut and tree nut allergy and asked if my order can be made in a bowl or container. This has never been an issue at any of the dozens of Cold Stone I have been to over the years. At this particular store, on this particular day I asked for the same thing I always get made in the same way (due to my allergy). The girl proceeds to confirm what I want and gets my ice cream ball then slaps in on the table. When I explained I didn't want it on the table because the allergy is severe so even dust will trigger a reaction she proceeded to say "I haven't used this side you'll be fine". I walked out, this is everything wrong with customer service that she would rather put my life at risk than to accommodate a simple request by just mixing my order in a bowl. I'm never coming back to this location ever again, I wish I could give it 0 stars. read more

My review is for the service. Came in tonight -15 minutes before they closed. I walked in to a girl mopping and I apologized for having to walk on the floor, to which she rudely said "YAH, we're closing!". I then proceeded to order two ice creams, for which I was told that they wouldn't be able to mix the toppings into the ice cream, they could only put them on top because they were closing.... Umm what??? You're not closed until your closed! Do your job! In addition, they had the music up so loud, I could barely hear them. First time at this location. Starting with the worst the facility is SO dirty. The floor looks as though it has never been cleaned, ever. There is scuffs, dirt, grime all over nearly everything. Went to this location on Friday 11/12 afternoon. Looked at the sign on the door that said all customers must wear masks. Went into the store without a mask on. The lone employee had his mask pulled down under his chin when I walked in and pulled it up with his ungloved hand. I said to the employee 'do I have to wear a mask' he said 'yes' I said 'I don't have one does that mean I have to leave?' He looks around and says 'if it's just you I'll serve you' so he makes my ice cream and I give him a $3 tip for being a cool dude. Then he goes 'remember next time wear a mask.' If these places require you to wear a mask the employees should have N95's strapped to their faces for their whole shifts. This dude doesn't care about masks, he was wearing his incorrectly and touching it w his hands. Worst service ever! Thought being in the area it was in would be a good experience, but it was not at all. Employee was not friendly, engaging, or fun at all! Coldstone was my first job and I've always associated it with a fun friendly environment that the kids ABSOLUTELY love. Today, we thought we'd get that experience with our kids (since its something we don't go out and do often) and we left very unhappy with the experience. She threw almost half the ice cream she made us onto the floor because it didn't fit in the size we ordered (I get, profit and all) but did it as I was asking to put it in a bigger cup because I know the fruits make it bigger. This was THE FIRST time we didn't tip because the lack of care this employee had for making it a good experience for my 4 and 10 year old. I don't want to go in on the workers because I understand that there's a level of kindness when you work with the service industry. There were two gentlemen tending to the counter. There was a man infront of us with 5 young kids. Here are some things that immediately made me and my partner walk out of the store last week: -The young kid scooping the icecream had long black wet hair. He kept running his hands through his hair and then used the same hand (without a glove) to scoop the icecream. -He waited until the next child ordered and while listening to her give her order, he took his hand and wiped his runny nose with it and then wiped it on his shirt. He continued to scoop icecream with the same hand covered in his saliva and snot. -As he mixed in the toppings he used his bare hands to pick up pieces that had fallen out of the icecream and onto the mixing surface and put them back into the icecream. This is honestly quite a health code violation with the lack of hairnets and gloves, and honestly just the lack of courtesy towards customers especially in this climate where we have to all be a little extra cautious. I will never come back to your location, and I encourage others to make sure that the health standards are being held up when you make your visit. Don't let them get you sick with food poisoning or worse. read more

The new owners have really turned around this place. It's now clean, has fresh ingredients and always always so friendly and eager to help us. This isn't a scoop and dump type of ice cream they are creating a little bowl of heaven as requested so at times it takes a few minutes but always worth the wait. This place is terrible. They are supposed to close at 9 and we get here at 8:50 and the doors are locked the girl inside looks at us and turns away. This has happened more than once. The workers here are not very friendly. They are always out of things and their ATM has not worked for a while you can only pay with cash. This Cold Stone reopened July 1 with a new owner. Total transformation! The store was clean and stocked, the staff was friendly and helpful. We were greeted when we walked in and thanked for coming in. The case actually had cakes and goodies in it. The debit/credit/gift card machine works. When we paid we left a tip - the staff sang to us thanking us for tip. I would highly recommend this Cold Stone now. Thank you to the new owners for saving this place! read more

So frustrated after leaving this location tonight. My husband and I came here with our $15 gift card to use on our ice cream to then be told that their ATM machine was not accepting debit credit or gift cards! We obviously had to pay with cash and the young boy and woman with glasses were terrible! They have no customer service skills, did not apologize for the inconvenience ,had no enthusiasm for scooping effort. All the flavors my Husband tried were melted and gross. They were out of half the flavors most other places have. I want a full refund for my order! I could have saved $10 by using my gift card! When I asked why it was off the employee seemed nervous and rambled an excuse, but there is no excuse to have a sign that attracts customers and show that you're open off!
