    Deep fried taco
    Jaimie P.

Went for taco Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised. The deep fried taco was 9.95 ( compared to 18 at the local county fair) and it was delicous! The waitress was friendly and on top of drinks. The only weird thing I'll mention was the smell of sulfur as you walk in the door. I'm assuming it's because of the water wells but once I got past the door the smell went away.

First time, won't be the last. I really liked this place. Parking lot next to the building is snug, but there is a municipal lot across the street. Front bar area has a few tables, and a packed bar at 5:30pm on a Wednesday, but there was a nearly empty dining room in the back, so we sat there. This is a very casual atmosphere, there were even a couple of families with little kids. The host and server were both prompt and friendly. There were some really interesting historical photos of the building on different walls. The food was very good, and enough for leftovers for lunch tomorrow. This was a win.

It was very enjoyable! I love old restaurants that make you take a step back in time! Fun seeing photos they have displayed from long ago. We went for Taco Tuesday and tried the deep fried tacos. They happily customized the contents to our preference and the tacos were so good! Crunchy outside coating and not greasy (which I was assuming they would be)! Prices were really reasonable , too! It was a nice drive to Colden and a perfect little "date night"! The staff were super friendly and helpful, too! It was our first time there, and will not be our last!

The deep fried taco was huge and delicious! It was full of flavor and came out piping hot. The homemade creme brule was creamy and delicious. The entire staff, to include the owners, were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant maintains most of the original decor and structure which lended itself a very relaxed atmosphere. The craft beer menu is excellent with a lot of thought that went into the selection.

The onion soup had some burnt chunks which is not the norm (and is why this isn't a 5 star review) but everything else was as delicious as always. We both went with the blank angus strip and pepper. It's almost always my go-to. The chorizo stuffed poblano is to die for.

Somehow they were down to one chef and the host made sure he could adequately accommodate us before even agreeing to seat us. WHO DOES THAT? Everyone else practically would just park you and cross their fingers -if they cared at all. Onion soup was very (sherry? Champagne?) vinegar forward. Uncommon flavor but good. They actually whipped up a Beef Stroganoff for me without alcohol which was also really tender but a tad disappointingly served on bow ties which I love -but I specifically asked and was told it was served over noodles. (Especially when another menu item came with pappardelle which I adore). One tablemate had bacon wrapped meatloaf he really enjoyed - and had to be 2/3 lb of meat. The fish was a head-scratcher...Billed as a curried and beer (IPA?) battered haddock what arrived was curry free and had no discernable trace of batter. The poor thing was encased in a thick wall of panko and absolutely incinerated in the deep fryer. The fish itself however, was done to a turn. The fries may as well have been mashed potatoes. WHY DOES EVERYONE MAKE SCRATCH FRIES THESE DAYS? No one knows how! I will, however, definitely give them another chance for sure. Partially because they were shorthanded but mostly because of our wonderful dining room staff. They were (understandably) unable to accommodate my request for coarse salt despite reporting having searched all over. I believed them too because the level of service was just that good. And..would't you know it?... a few minutes later after i gave up on it - didn't they find some for me? WHO DOES THAT? Oh! And get this! At the very last minute after the bill was almost certainly tallied, as we were about to settle they arranged for us to have 3 separate checks! WHO DOES THAT??? The Colden Mill does that!

I was surprised to see I haven't written a review but I always have a good experience here! For my mom's birthday, she wanted to grab a beer flight and dinner at Live Edge Brewing. We arrived on a Saturday around 4:45pm and took a parking spot close to the entrance. They have a good-size parking lot so no concerns about finding a space. We walked in and saw the "wait to be seated" sign and soon afterward, a young woman came over and asked how many in our party and where we'd like to sit. The three of us decided to sit on their back patio. We picked a table and our waitress soon followed with drink/food menus. All of the tables outside had umbrellas to help shield from the sun, which on this Saturday was out but the temperature was perfect and there was a slight breeze to cool it down a little. The one oddity we had was that our drink menus didn't match as my menu had more taps listed compared to the others I was sitting with, so I ended up getting a drink in my flight they never saw. I slight hiccup but honestly, you can't be too upset with a drink in your hand! Our waitress was young and incredibly personable, friendly, accommodating, answering all our questions about the food and customizing our orders how we wanted them. We might have let it slip that it was my mom's birthday - Our waitress brought her a birthday cake shot to celebrate, which she loved! Our waitress let us take our time sampling our beer flights before placing our food orders. The wait time for our food was very reasonable, maybe 10-15 minutes, I can't remember as we were having too good a time chatting and sipping. For dinner, I ordered their Nashville Hot Chicken Sammy, which is a hand-breaded toaster-oven-baked chicken breast topped with provolone cheese, pickles, and their Nashville hot sauce between a brioche bun and served with a side of tater tots (a small upcharge from their default chips). The sandwich was delicious! Now, for you spice lovers, I didn't find this sandwich very spicy, it was more about the flavor, the tang of the sauce. I didn't mind it not being that spicy, the flavor was excellent! The pickles were thick and had a nice crisp to them and the provolone cheese paired so well with it all. The tater tots were fried perfectly with a crispier exterior but hot, pillowy-soft interior - For the small upcharge, ~$3.00, they were worth it. The portion sizes were perfect as I was perfectly full, I wasn't uncomfortable. The price of my meal was reasonable as well, especially seeing how everything's costing more in 2026. Live Edge Brewing is not only a family favorite but for me, it's a hidden gem. The friendly, laid back, yet still attentive service and country atmosphere have us continuing to come back each New Year's Eve, and now, this could become a new birthday tradition!

The service was really good, and staff was solicitous and friendly, despite it being quite busy. The food was delicious. The memu was typical fare, but with added flair. Side sauces for apps and sandwiches. I got a huge chicken sandwich with bacon and provolone cheese, and a beer and the price was very reasonable. To top it off, they had live music, a singer, guitarist, Kevin White, who was really enjoyable, and took requests! I would recommend this place highly.
