I have been here a number of times over the years since they opened and tried a number of different items off the menu. Overall consistently have been happy with everything I have eaten, but I will say that while still pretty good the burgers are not as good as they were early on. One of the big draws for me has always been the outdoor patio area that is shared with the other businesses that are part of the Trussville Entertainment District (TED). The covering over the area keeps you out of the direct sun but still has a very open air feel. On my most recent visit I got the Feral Smash Burger with Cheddar instead of American Cheese. I ordered the tots for my side because I swore that I had gotten them many times in the past. Looking back at all my photos, clearly I was mistaken. Since I am not a big fan of sweet potato the bartender brought me fries instead to go with my side of Beer Cheese which is well worth the added cost. Depending on when you go, you may have to go inside to order at the bar for the outdoor seating (such as I did today). Other days when the TED is busier and peak times you can order at the outdoor bar. For solo lunch dining I prefer other options in the TED but Ferus is great for groups and outdoor dining. I am sure I will be back especially when my daughter comes to town since she likes to refill her growler with the seasonal sours. read more

Always a great time when I come here. We came on valentines days for lunch and were seated right away! I tried something new and it didn't disappoint. The pimento cheese has house made chips and was excellent! I got the fish and chips and it was VERY good! Nice crunch on the fish. Fries are nice and salty with a good crunch as well! My fiance got the burger and said Thank you was pretty good! The only thing he said that would make it better is to better season the beef patty itself! There was a time when I would have bumped the stars up to four. But recently they have changed their fries. The fries they had before were AMAZING, the reason we came. I went to this restaurant on yesterday with a committee from work. I had never heard of this restaurant and I've never been in this part of Trussville before. I was pleasantly surprised by the entertainment district where this restaurant is located. It was very nice and seemed to have adequate parking. We were in a private room in the back of this restaurant, which had its own bar area. It was super nice and I think that if someone is looking for a place to have a party, you should definitely check it out. Currently visiting here for work and my friend brought me to this cute place!! There is plenty of outside seating with a huge screen (great for game days). We sat at the bar due to it being a bit chilly though. Our bartender was great (I can't remember her name) but she let us try a few beers and was very welcoming. It was also trivia night so unexpected FUN!! We didnt stay for the whole game but it was fun while we were there. To eat I had the classic Feral Burger with double smash Pattie's! All hail Ferus! This is one of my favorite places to visit in the Trussville area. They have a great seating area with an amazing tv view for games and movies. Good beer and food. My wife, three daughters and husbands and 8 grandkids there today. Got all in the various cars down the street and called to clear my tab by phone. You can order and pay by phone but to clear an open tab backed by credit card by phone, I had to either walk all the way back or they add a 30% charge. The chicken tenders were so over cooked they were almost chocolate color, not to mention the off putting taste. The $14 burger is now 1/4 pound and you have to pay $3 more to get an actual burger to eat with an extra 1/4 pound "patty". I passed. Ferus was really good! We got in after church on Sunday and our waitress was really great. We had a variety of the hangover burrito, chicken and waffles, chicken tenders and the kids grilled cheese. Our server was friendly and helpful, and we were sat quickly once we arrived. Also, they made sure we had drink refills in a timely manner. I forgot to take a picture, but we were also convinced into ordering the lemon beignets, which I loved! It made up for the fact that I wasn't too thrilled with my meal. My husband loved his meal. He ordered The Lion, which is fries layered with gravy, bacon, and a fried egg. He said he would definitely come back and have it again. I had the chicken and waffles and it was not my favorite.
