If he hasn't retired yet, he should have revolving doors installed in his practices; each time I went in, he saw me for a few quick minutes...he has certainly figured out a way to make a lot of money with waiting rooms packed and patients being escorted in and out like cattle. I have had the same experience as the other Yelpers. He didn't even take his eyes off the chart he was holding to actually look at my skin! I kept saying "but what about this?" and without even looking he would say, "oh don't worry about it". The office was always so overcrowded because they schedule appointments 5 minutes apart. He just writes prescriptions and doesn't even look at your skin. The last time I was there he removed something from my arm and did such a bad job I now have a huge scar. My dad had the same experience. He was in the office for all of 30 seconds, the doctor never looked at him, and wrote a prescription for something that didn't even work. Terrible doctor! read more

I've had problems with winter eczema, something Dr. Lundquist has seen countless times. He's quick to write a script until the next inevitable winter attack. His practice is extremely busy, he works long hours to help as many people as he can with common skin ailments. Initially I was put off by this, until I visited another provider who scarred me by excising a small mole on my back, that was benign. Dr. Lundquist told me not to worry about it. I should have listened to him. His fast visual inspection, by very experienced eyes, was 100% on target. About two years ago, I developed a dark raised spot on my face. This blackish mark grew to the size of a dime before I went to see Dr. Lundquist. He took his time to examine this closely as it wasn't a "run of the mill" type of skin problem. We scheduled another appointment to have the mark excised. I was very concerned about scarring since this was on my face. Dr. Lundquist removed and cauterized the mark precisely, quickly and accurately. Very skilled surgical hands, quite impressive. He sent a sample in for a biopsy and the smooth cauterization he performed healed perfectly, no mark or scar whatsoever. After having both a "run of the mill" and more complex skin problem, I've grown to appreciate how the doctor manages his time to help as many patients as possible. read more

First time patient. He spent less than 5 minutes with me. Told me to buy face wash at their front desk. Gave me 2 prescriptions, an antifungal cream for foot ($500 not covered by insurance & efficacy testing was 26%) & face gel for Rosacea ($200 covered by insurance). I asked about side effects of the meds, he stated "they're both pretty safe". He zapped skin tags on my neck that hurt like hell & now I have black burnt skin tags. As he did not communicate what to expect, I assume (hope) they will eventually fall off. No communication, literally glances at the skin conditions you ask him to diagnose/treat, gives prescriptions for very expensive meds (with less than ideal efficacy rates) and tells you to come back in 3 weeks. I saw dr lundquist for some sun damaged areas on my face. He spent maybe 90 seconds total with me and that included freezing a few things off of my face. Surprisingly he did not wear gloves and I did not witness him wash his hands before treating me. I can't remember a dr not wearing gloves. I asked him to look at the freckles on my back and he stood at least 5 feet away from me and barely even glanced at my back. When I asked if he needed to take a closer look his response was "No. those things jump out at you". Really? Cancer " jumps out at you"? My last dermatologist looked very closely at all of my freckles using a bright light and standing about a foot away from me. I won't be going back to dr lundquist. read more

It's too bad that you have to give at least one star. I wish there were negative stars. I have had the same experiences as everyone else here. He barely looks at you, barely talks to you, prescribes something different every two weeks, and doesn't even sit with you long enough to warm his seat. And if you try to talk to him he just walks out on you. I was fortunate to find a good dermatologist in my neighborhood and I went to him on Saturday. The amount of time I have spent with this new doctor on one visit is equal to the amount of time I have spend with Dr. Lundquist on all visits combined. This new Dr. specifically told me that Dr. Lundquist gave me the wrong type of ointments (topical 'roids) for my condition and actually made my condition worse. The new Dr. actually came in with an assistant, put a big light and magnifying glass on me, and also took the time to inspect my moles just as a courtesy check up on them even though that's not what I was there for. My new Dr. is Dr. Bryan Schultz in Oak Park, near Harlem & Chicago. I've only been there once but it was a million times better. His credentials are impressive. We've seen Dr. Lundquist a few time, now. Both times, (like other yelpers) the waiting room was crowded, it took a while to get into the actual exam room. (But that happens, and I totally get that) However, I don't understand how a doctor, who know that you've been waiting, that you have legitimate concerns and questions can devote just 2-5 minutes with you. My son had a small growth on his face. Dr. Lundquist prescribed antibiotics as an initial treatment, but at the second visit determined that it wasn't helping, the cyst was the same size. He referred us to a plastic surgeon. (Geri, in lundquist's office went out of her way to help with the referral... and there were issue with the referral. But she tried so hard to help us... so I thank her!!!!) But at the plastic surgeon's office, he asked why Dr. Lunquist didn't remove the "clogged oil duct" himself? Clogged oil duct!!!! NOT cyst! In about 10 minutes we were out of the exam room, bump free. I'm pretty sure Dr. Lundquist didn't take the time to look closely enough at the bump to determine WHAT it actually was. OR he couldn't be bothered to take the time to clean out a clogged oil duct. I can't even believe the carelessness and disregard for diligence!!! Ridiculous!!! read more

I went to lindquist because i needed to see a derm immediately and he was the only one who had an opening. I waited in the waiting room well past my appointment time even though i arrived well before the 15 minutes early they recommend. I saw him for maybe about 2 minutes. My head was spinning. I couldnt get a word out edgewise, he scanned my hair for maybe a second. Luterally. Told me to take the medicine he recommended did not ask if i had any questions. I did mention i just had a baby a few months ago and he did not ask if i was nursing. So i told him i was and if this drug was safe to take while doing so. He said, "i dont know as her pediatrician and your gyno." I could have sued this guy. He told me it's all orimarily made of vitamins so it should be fine. Well it isn't. It has fish protein in it and could set off a fatal reaction if my baby is allergic to any type of shell fish. So i call back telling then it isn't recommended and the receptionist hubg up on me twice. They seemed like complete airheads. Completely empty upstairs. So overall the office staff abd doctor are completely unprofessional. This was at his lutheran general location btw. But when i called his res location thats when i was hung up on twice. Pretty sure it's same staff at both locations. read more

Try to avoid this impersonal MD at all costs. Went to him regardless of the yelper's reviews because my insurance was scarce to find any alternative doctors closer to my location, however after 3 visits the office had a problem with my insurance even though after speaking with my insurance directly, they had no idea why the doctor's office was requesting certain documentation. Also every two weeks he would briefly look at my skin and write a different prescription and lather rinse repeat... The straw that broke my back was prescribing a cream that specifically warns not to use on face (location of my psoriasis=face.) I tried once and had severe reaction to cream, decided to go elsewhere regardless of extra distance. I hope I find a better doctor soon. read more

Good: - a lot of experience - easy to get an appointment at the time of your choosing - Knows what he is doing Bad: - average time spent with me during an appointment was less then 20 seconds. I expect dermatologist to spend between 1 minute to 2 minutes per patient (dermatologists normally spent much less time with patient then your family doctor or any other medical professional). Conclusion: other then the duration of the time spent with patient I'm satisfied with Dr. Cole services. read more

I came in for an appointment and forgot my card. The receptionist gave me two options, cancel the appt I waited two months for, or pay cash. They also told me they would NOT submit anything to insurance after the fact, even if I brought my card in after the appt. So i wrote a check for $60, just to be see. I was seen within five minutes and I couldnt even tell you what color this doctors eyes were. I asked what non-surgical options I had for a keloid scar on my face and he immediately pulled out a Script pad and wrote a referral to a cosmetic surgeon he knew. I already knew Dermatologist can address a scar with laser, shots etc but NOTHING was suggested other than the referral. Our visit with each other must have lasted 90 seconds, 60 of which he filled script and glanced at my file. I would have had a better experience throwing 60 singles in the air. I tried 4 dermatologists before getting referred to Dr. Lundquist by my GP. .None made the cut. All of them wasted my time. I've been under Dr. Lundquist's care for almost 3 years. He's a consummate professional. He could not be more personable. He is always on time. And he shows the respect of not wasting my time. I have gone to Dr. Lundquist in the past and have recently seen him to have a growth removed near my eye socket. He took care of it with ease as it was in a tough spot. If you are touchy/feely type of person who needs a nice "chat" with your doctor, he's probably not for you. If you want quick visits and results, he's perfect. read more

Avoid this guy at all costs. He had treated my teenage daughter for acne for several months without any visible sign of progress. My daughter's mother and I both arranged our schedules in order to accompany her on her next visit. We came prepared with a number of questions and a desire to discuss progress and the course of treatment. Lundquist spent about two minutes with us and nearly ran out the door clearly frustrated that we were interested in discussing our daughter's welfare. I went here because I have Aetna HMO, and my PCP recommended him. I verified that the referral went through, then called and took the first available appointment. I brought my referral to the office just in case. I saw the doctor about a scary dark mole on my shoulder, and a couple of tiny bumps on my back to be removed. The tiny bumps are harmless, I have had them my whole life. I saw the doctor for almost 3 minutes, he looked at them, and told me each mole would be its own appointment, he could not do multiples in one session, and he could do nothing that day. He could not explain why, he just told me that he is the doctor. So, after being in the office for over an hour, and seeing the doctor for 3 minutes, I went to give them my copay and make the next appointment. While I was paying, they told me that my referral was probably no good, they are only good for 2 months, and I was 3 days past that. So, after thinking about this, I cancelled my next appointment. I am going back to my out-of-network derm, as she will do multiple things in one visit. It will actually cost me less in the end than multiple visits at $50.00/each. read more

Terrible experience after seeing the doctor 6 times. No change in the patient's health. Dr Cole spent about 1 minute with us each time. He did not take any tests, do biopsy or any other test to check what the disease is even though the condition did not improve after 10 months. Waste of time and money. He picks one diagnosis and sticks with it. You cannot ask questions - he keeps repeating the same thing over and over. The visit can be scripted between: "Hi, how is it today, apply this and come back in 3 weeks. Bye. All said in 1min." We went' there because of insurance but this is it. If you can, it is wise to try another doctor. read more

This doctor is the worst dermatologist on the face of the planet...He spends absolutely no time with his patients. He look at your skin from two feet away with no specialty glasses to see what's really going on with your skin. He was treating me for breakouts, well after nothing was improving, I went to see Dr. Bernstein on North Avenue and he diagnosed me with Rosaccea.....I went through a year of anxiety over my skin for nothing and some slight scarrring due to the Dr. not diagnosing and treating me right. Don't waste your time....His office is a chop shop...Go in, he spends two minutes with you, writes a prescription and be off.....No bedside manner whatsoever. Terrible doctor!!! I went to see him twice, chose him mainly because of the convenient location and availability. Every time the reception room was full of people, at least fifteen of them at a time, mostly elderly. You would expect to be sitting there for a long time, but that was not a case. Patients just came in and out in 3 minutes. Fist time he spent those three minutes with me, that how long it took him to write a prescribtion for Hydrocortizone and some rinse that he sells at the office. He never bothered either to look at my skin, or give any explanation, or to answer any question.When I returned for my second visit , it was even shorter, as he did not have to write a prescribtion. Once again he refused to answer any questions, never tried to examine my skin, and just insisted on keeping using the Hydrocortizione, despite the fact that it says in the instructions to never use it on the eyes and face. Of course, he wanted me to come again in two weeks (my guess would be, so he could keep billing me and my insurance) Rushed out of the office in two minutes and when I followed him to the hallway and tried to ask a question , he looked very irritated, and his answer was just rude. I wonder if insurance companies can take a look at his practices, he might be seeing hundreds of patients every day, doesn't it look as a concern ? In any case, my advise: stay away from this doctor and warn the others! read more

If you like being treated like a heard of cattle than Dr. Cole Lundquist would be the doc for you. I made an appointment, waited a bit in the waiting room as droves of patients were walking out as fast as they were walking in. Then, my turn. Dr Lundquist spent all of 20 seconds with me. My daughter also had an appointment to see him later. I set the appointment up for a cancer sreen, body check. She went into the exam room, they did not give her a gown, she did not even have to undress. Lundquist looked at a mole on the hip said it was fine and he walked out. Unless Lundquist has x-ray vision. THAT WAS NOT A CANCER SCREEn. YOu are to check the whole body. My daughter called me hysterical. I called the office to see what they were going to bill my insurance for. I did not see any CPT code for a new patient visit of 20 second face to face time. Well I checked with my insurance they billed my insurance for my daughter CPT code99202 which is 20 minuetes of face to face time. Nice try I am appealing to the insurance company. Then for my office visit they billed the insurance company CPT code17110, which is a surgical code for lesion removal up to 14. The only problem is that he should have billed for code11200 skin tag removel. He removed 1 and left the others there. I went back another day and he removed one lesion ion less than a minuete. Of course he billed that to. If my insurance had not been runing out I would of looked for someone else. So..please, think before making appointments here. There are a lot of good docs out there who will do the right thing, spend time with you, talk to you, bill the insurance for the proper amount of time spent with you....if you don't want to be part of the heard of cattlle that stomp through this office...keep looking. read more
