My wife and I, living in Seminole county, went to a dealership nearer to our house and leased a 2017 RAV4 XLE. Our experience at that time was great and we received a great vehicle as a result. I haven't had a driver's license in nearly 8 years, and last week, I rectified that issue. It wasn't due to a criminal charge or anything like that; merely the inability to share a vehicle led to my blase outlook on possessing the card. Then, with the card in my possession and only one car at home, it only took 24 hours to realize that we could not survive, logistically, with one set of wheels at home. We went to the same dealership that we got the RAV4 from, which I won't name out of respect for Parks, and the experience I had was subpar. Don't worry, I'll write that one next. To shorten the bad aspect, they showed little to no customer service or loyalty to my return business, making me think I had chosen the wrong dealership in the first place. So I reached out to Parks and spoke with Tom Scheffer and explained the whole ordeal with the first dealership. He explained and he and his colleague, Candice, would be happy to work with us and rectify the issues I had at the other location. We arrived at 3PM on Sunday, spoke on the vehicle that I wanted, in the right color and trim level and it appeared on the side of the building, detailed with a full tank, ready to go. We went over our deal with Candice, and then moved over to Scott Levitt's office to finalize our paperwork. After another 30 minutes with Scott, and his two-color highlighter finesse, we had signed on every dotted line, set up insurance, and we were ready to caravan back to Seminole county. I went out of my element on Sunday. I was an hour North of home, at a dealership I had never been to before and I was completely, totally, impressed. The showroom was clean and uncluttered. It made me feel at home. I was not pressured. I was waited on. And felt appreciated by my being there. Parks Toyota of DeLand really pulled out all of the stops. When my wife's lease is up in 2020, I know exactly where I am going, whether it is further away or not. It is 100% worth the drive. At the same time, they send me offers trying to sell me another car, using my current vehicle as if it still has a balance--which is inaccurate and misleading. I even went in to have my car's value assessed after receiving one of these offers and was told I would receive a gift card for coming in. I never received the gift card, which only adds to the pattern of unfulfilled promises. Customer service has been extremely poor. It's nearly impossible to get a call back or speak with an advisor when I need help. I've made multiple attempts to get clarification and support, but communication has been inconsistent and unreliable. I was also told at the time of purchase that I would receive complimentary car washes. Shortly after, I was told that was no longer offered and had to start paying. Now, I'm being told I can't get car washes at all because the wash bay has been sold. This is a clear example of promises not being honored. On top of that, I'm now being told I need to complete work to maintain my warranty--even though I've already had that work done. This adds unnecessary stress and raises concerns about how records and customer accounts are being handled. Another issue is the way service appointments are handled. Advisors are switched during the visit--one person checks you in and a completely different person checks you out. There is little to no communication about what services were performed or any concerns found. When explanations are given, the advisor often doesn't seem to fully understand the report, which makes it hard to trust the information being provided. Overall, this has been a disappointing and stressful experience. I expected better transparency, communication, and follow-through after purchasing a vehicle. However, those vehicles have such low prices for a very good reason. We had picked out a 2004 Mercury Sable sedan, with 150,00 miles, for $1400. Pretty little car, but we couldn't even test drive it--when Mike got in to take us for a spin, it was discovered that the car had no brakes. Not to worry, said Mike. He'd have his mechanic get it in tip-top shape in no time. When the brakes were "fixed," we purchased the car. No warranty of any sort, of course, but we were aware of that. As I drove it home, the brakes worked, but felt funny. I convinced myself that I just wasn't used to them. So my son and I kept telling ourselves for a week that we just needed to adjust to the car. Well, rapidly the brakes became of no concern at all--because the radiator and its connections, it seems, had rusted out. $400 later, we were back on the road again, squishy brakes and all. So we took the car to Tire Choice in DeLand to get the brakes looked at. Almost $700 later, the cylinders on the rear wheels had been replaced (they had totally worn out). The car finally had real brakes! By the time we'd replaced the crumbling windshield wipers, had several systems flushed, and got a complete oil change--and added in the cost of two tow charges--I was out of pocket slightly over $1400 total. My car runs beautifully now, and I feel safe in it. Only problem is,I've had the car less than three weeks, and I've been forced to put more than $1400 into it. So, final price on my $1400 bargain? $2800+, more than double the original price. Plus tax. Again, Buyer Beware.

When we arrived we were greeted by Sam Ahasan who provided outstanding customer service during both of our same day visits. Sam gave us a through view of the 2025 CRV after we decided this was more in line with what we were looking for. He is a very knowledgeable salesperson and we could not have been more pleased. After taking a test drive Sam again went over all the upgrades and safety features and invited us inside to discuss pricing. I can highly recommend Sam if your looking for a new Honda, he is very professional and "listens" and doesn't try to guide you to something other than what you are looking for. I felt this dealership was very upfront with their pricing, I told Sam were were still looking at a few other comparable vehicles but we would be looking to making a purchase immediately if we landed on the right vehicle and the pricing and our trade met our expectations - Although the Honda CRV was very nice it was Sam that got us back for the second visit as we continued to make our final decision. BUYERS BEWARE! We purchased a new 2026 Passport in December from Coggin Honda of Deland. Five…read moredays later the car overheated and was towed to Southeastern Honda in Palm Bay. Southeastern Honda discovered that Coggin Honda of Deland sold us a vehicle that was missing the fuse for the cooling fan. Southeastern Honda installed the missing fuse and the car is now running. However, an overheated engine significantly reduces an engine's longevity and can cause slew of long term issues. We now own a new Passport with a compromised engine. Outside of a vehicle replacement, I expect Honda to at least provide a much longer warranty on the engine than the basic 60,000 mile warranty that came with purchase. Coggin Honda gave me the number to Honda America. Honda America said that their responsibility is only to replace the missing fuse and nothing more. Honda America suggested I go back to Coggin Honda about this issue. The General Manager at Coggin Honda of Deland, Andre Willis, is of the opinion that he only sells cars and is not responsible for any long term damage to my engine from the overheating caused by Coggin Honda of Deland selling us a vehicle that was missing the fuse to the cooling fan. His only solution to the problem was for me to buy an extended warranty from Coggin Honda. I refuse to pay for Honda's quality control issue. At this point, it appears we will need to sell our Passport before the odometer reaches 60,000 miles. I sincerely regret the purchase of this Passport.
