In the shopping bag were these things I wanted to sell: 1) Ten loose packs of hockey cards - Ken's wasn't interested. 2) A sealed box of hockey card packs - Ken's wasn't interested. 3) A ziplock bag of 1988 Topps baseball coins -Ken's wasn't interested But in the binder were over 200 Wrestling cards from the 1990's, and to my surprise, Ken's was VERY interested in buying them. Now I know that shouldn't have been a surprise because I learned Ken's has devoted a whole room exclusively to wrestling memorabilia, and they were super interested in my Hulk Hogans, Andre the Giants, and Macho Man Savages. They bought every single card and I walked out with a price I could live with. If you have any wrestling fans in the family, they will do a pile-driver off the top rope and have a blast looking around Ken's Rasslin' Room. .

Inside the bag were some Simpson's memorabilia I was looking to sell, namely (don't laugh) 50 Simpsons pogs and two empty boxes of Simpsons cereal. For the curious, they would be Bart Simpson Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch and Homer's Cinnamon Donut. I met with Carl (one of the two Two Guys), and found him to be a very nice down to earth young man. He looked at what I brought in, and did some pricing research while I looked around. Two Guys is quite the destination for pop culture nerds who can't get enough of comics, DVDs for a buck, collectible figurines (Star Wars and Marvel are popular), graphic novels, games and a treasure chest of cool stuff. One cool thing I learned was that the Two Guys are hosting a Community Day tomorrow to come in and schmooze, with free comics to kids under ten. I had done some research on what my stuff had recently sold for on-line, and then cut that number in half to approximate what I was looking for.  I was thrilled when Carl came back with the exact same number! So my first visit and transaction with Two Guys was 100% pleasurable and satisfactory. As we continue to thin out our 35+ years of accumulated stuff, I suspect I'll be returning to see those Two Guys again.

Long story short, customer service is excellent. Eric really knows his stuff and as a new collector, he made me feel right at home and answered my questions above and beyond. Zero judgement. Prices are really great as well. Been to a lot of shops on the West Coast and don't see the quality of customer service or prices that I do here. More specifically, it's about how did I start to liquidate my baseball card collection with a professionally run business and get treated with courtesy and fairness. I collected cards as a kid, and a few pretty good cards from the '60's are still in my possession today. 1967 was a particularly good year as I saved a Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and a Hank Aaron, But like most hobbyists, I jumped hard into the baseball card market in the late 1980's, and as the 80's moved into the '90's, the card companies flooded the market with a ton of product. This glut of cards is known today as the "Junk Card Era", as Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Score, and Upper Deck among others ran the presses. 90% of these cards are worth zilch, and I remember a card guy I talked to at the Elephant's Trunk Flea Market recommended burning all of my cards produced after 1990. But there are a handful of exceptions, mostly rookie cards of elite Hall of Fame level players. The 1989 Upper Deck Complete set is a prime example, as the market value for the full 800 cards is just about equal to the market value of the set's first card - #1 which is the rookie card of Ken Griffey Jr. As a test, I approached Fearless to see about selling my 1989 Upper Deck sets. I had one factory sealed set, and a hand collated set culled from individual packs I had bought back in 1989. I learned that the value of the hand collated set is more or less identical to the value of the Griffey card. So I sold the Factory set, and the #1 Griffey card, and was treated fairly. Hats off to Brandon and Matt who are super friendly and knowledgeable. I know this will be my first of many future transactions with them.

Good selection, good prices, great owner and staff…read more As an old hat card collector, I had a number of older trading cards lying about. I decided to go and find a good home for my childhood games, and many of the local card shops I would go to were either not interested, outright rude, or would "ease my burden" by offering pennies on the dollar for my collection. Rob was the only owner that was not only in constant contact through the process of appraisal, but he offered a good explanation of his evaluation along with a fair value. No hidden tricks, just honesty. Which is weirdly rare, at least based on my recent experiences. Unfortunately I no longer play the card games they sell. But I will return and I hope others seek them out as well. They have a lot of hobbies represented, their prices are good, and the staff is great.

So close to the holiday... let's just say that's not going to work! (It's the 23rd of December!) I called this store and they confirmed they had Catan and various expansion packs in stock. The price is exactly what I was expecting to pay and then they had a 10% holiday discount. It's a Saturday and most stores are NOT answering their phones but this store answered on the 1st or 2nd ring!! They set aside two different games for me and confirmed they were open until 10pm! I swung by and the nicest person helped me to check out, signed me up for the rewards program, and explained their business model. You can rent and play games, purchase them, or bring your own!
