This can be attributed to the buying power of Wegmans and having a good relationship with the chateaus there. Also because Century was previously owned by Sherwood Deutsch, a pharmacist turned wine merchant who also had established close relationship with Bordeaux winemakers since the mid-1960s. Sherwood eventually sold his wine business to the Wegman family in 2007. If you go all the way to the back of the store, there is "The Sherwood Room" which houses a lot of their higher end wine. It's quite impressive to see as a self-proclaimed wine nerd. Anyways the selection is great and their prices are often better than what you can find online. They also have knowledgeable staff. John McMahon in particular knows his stuff regarding wine, so ask for him if you're in the store with questions regarding wine.

It was pretty clear that the cashier did not want to be there, and he told the person in front of me he was out of certain bags already, and it was still the afternoon on what I assume is one of the busiest days of the year. CHM liquor is literally at Costco but has a separate entrance at the side of the store. I listened to staff remind customers several times that they are "not associated with Costco." They have all your average types of wine and liquor but very few brands or specialty items. The prices appear decent/average and staff was helpful and very nice. As far as local options I did see Black Button liquors and Hazlitt wines among others. What really sold me was they were doing a tasting of Root Beer Whiskey (Root Out) and were making mini Root Beer Floats - they were so good! I ended up buying the liquor and will be having floats for dessert tonight. I grab the bottle and go to put it back and see that the bottles are stacked WAY to high so I hand her the bottle. She's takes the bottle and immediately puts it back on the way too full disply and she tells me that I needed to watch where I'm going. After leaving the store I call and speak to the manager, he's like oh, I can talk to her about it. And you can tell he's just telling me whatever to get me off of the phone. All good.
