My grandma was recommended them by the assisted living facility she is moving into. I called and spoke to Larry the Manager on Monday at around 10am and asked about pricing and availability. Also told Larry that right after moving my grandma we would have another 2 jobs for them moving other family members. Larry asked me to send pictures and he would talk to his partner and get back to me. I sent all of the pictures immediately with the addresses of where from and to it would be moving and the date we were looking for but we are flexible on the date. Its now Friday afternoon and I've still heard absolutely nothing. No response to anything. So we've reached out to a different company and have already gotten a response from them in less that an hour, they were friendly and responsive and we have booked 3 separate jobs with them. Not only do I not recommend College Muscle but we are informing the General Manager at the assisted living facility to not recommend them as well since they can't seem to be bothered with even responding to you. Moving is stressful enough especially when in a couple of weeks it will be 3 different moves in a 3 week time frame and it's difficult to plan everything accordingly when you have a company that can't even take the time to get back to you. I was quoted $689 for 4 men 3 hours and gave them $50 deposit. only 3 men showed up and I only used the 3 hours he charged me $889. I tried calling him multiple times to ask about the up charge and he wouldn't answer my call but he did call back one of his workers and I ended up giving him $800 ( plus the $50 deposit) I even gave an itemized description of the heavy items that were going upstairs before I hired them and gave them the deposit and was quoted the $689. I never got to speak to him to ask why he charged $200 more dollars cause he would not answer my call. The 3 men that came really did do a good job so 2 stars. To reply to you $180/ hour would be $540 and that extra 30 min they took a lot of breaks you shouldn't charge me for and the travel time you said you started charging when you started the move and the charges end when you pack up your equipment and for the PayPal convenience fee you accept PayPal it even says on your profile so why charge the customer you don't even state that there's a convenience fee on your profile or when accepting the job and when we tried to call you to let you know we were unhappy with the up charge you wouldn't answer even though you just spoke to your workers a minute ago so how can I let you know I was unhappy with the up charge? read more

So today was moving day for me. My original movers planned to be at my home this morning at 8:30am SHARP!! Well, they were a NO SHOW! What happens when your moving help NO SHOWS?!? Really surprised these guys have any positive reviews on here at all, not sure if they're even from real people. These guys are total flakes and completely unprofessional. Long story short, Robert agreed to do a job for me and I made it absolutely clear that it had to be done that day, he repeatedly assured me that it wasn't an issue. A couple hours later and he never showed up and stopped responding to my calls or texts. Later in the day I got a call from his "manager" Nick who said he was gonna come do the job for me and would be out at 4:30pm the same day, he waited until 4:10 to call and tell me he too was flaking. Absolutely unreal. Bottom line is this is a total Mickey Mouse operation.. if you're counting on these guys to be there on time as agreed, call someone else or expect to be left in a bind. This is the first time that I needed to hire a moving company and was worried that my furniture would suffer scratches or damages. When Robert and his assistant arrived, they were ready with all their equipment and knew exactly how to handle the heavy furniture. Each item was individually wrapped with cardboard and plastic wrap and placed carefully in the trailer. Every item that needed to be taken apart was taken apart and placed together and the screws were placed back on to make it effortless for me to put it back together at my new home. Sorry for this late review but was caught up with decorating and hosting for Thanksgiving. My move occurred November 3, 2017 and I am beyond satisfied. I contacted College Muscle Moving Company and from the first contact felt relieved. I have a not so nice review for Moving with Caution & Care but you can read that on their website. My initial contact was with Robert (I think, the one with the long pony tail). Robert was very professional and assured me numerous times he could handle my move. We spoke a few times prior and one day prior and on the day of the move I was contacted to confirm pick-up and delivery. I met the company at my storage unit and things went as planned. The crew worked from the time they arrived until it was time to drive to my destination. I did interrupt their loading to invite them to have a bit of breakfast but that only lasted for a good 10 minutes and they were back at it. Not once did I have to correct or advise on their performance. I have 25 years plus on moving personal property and must say they well exceeded my expectations. After the last item was loaded everyone packed up their belongings and we all drove from the storage site to my destination. Not once did I have to worry about them pulling over or driving a different route. I had clear site the entire drive. Once we arrived at my newly remolded house Robert and I went inside and decided what equipment was needed to place my belongings. There was one other guy that involved in the placement but I can't remember his name but he kept ducking out of me taking pictures but I did get a few of him...lol He was like the leader of the pack when Robert was busy doing other things. There was however one minor incident that occurred. The glass in my china cabinet was broken. I can't say how or who broke it but Robert and I split the difference with no haggling over price. If I wanted to I could have had the company paid for the entire cost of replacement but everyone on the crew was beyond helpful, kind, and courteous and felt it clearly was an accident. This has been one of my best moves to date; they handled my property as if it were their very own. Very confident, professional, swift, prompt...I could go on for days with the adjectives...lol If you are in the need for movers I would highly recommend College Muscle Moving Company in Lodi, CA. Wow! The College Muscle Moving Company was amazing. The team of movers made our move from Manteca to Livermore fast and actually kinda fun! The start was a set of text communications (I used Yelp messages) with Robert, one of the owners. Through a set of detailed questions he was able to give me a ball park figure. His responses were quick and informative. Then one of his workers made a quick trip to our house to get a detailed look at our needs and Robert followed up with a quote. Not problem! Moving day arrived and the two trucks and 5 workers showed up exactly on the early start time of 8am. Everyone was polite, quick and happy. The team obviously knew what they were doing, liked working with each other and were used to working hard! Lots of coordination between team members to move items out of the house and then to fit each item into the trucks..like a puzzle. So all our furniture, washer/dryer, and refrigerator got into the trucks without a hitch. Our move had an added complication of a spa. Again..conversation to figure out how to move it into the truck. No problem. Then the drive to Livermore and the unloading into a two story townhome. The same well oiled process happened. Connecting the washer/dryer, putting the king-size bed back together, hauling all those boxes up the stairs...quick, polite and again...the atmosphere was so congenial..it made a tough day so much better! Now getting the spa into the backyard was tricky because there is no side access. The spa had to be moved through the house. So, again..lots of conversation first on how to do it then they got down to business and attached the giant moving straps and two people lifted it and carried it through the house. Not a scratch on the hardwood floor! They helped set it up and level it. Moving is hard work. This company does it right. They set the tone for our move. Not only are they great movers but they are great people. They took the time to look you in the eye and smile. They chatted between each other and played great 50s music! My spouse and I bought a sofa and love seat from a local business that was a short distance from our home. We have stairs and neither my spouse or myself wanted to make that dreadful move carrying heavy awkward furniture up those stairs to our apartment. The store didn't deliver but gave us the number for College Muscle. We called Robert at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and left him a message to see if he could possibly pick up our sofas and deliver them that same day.
