Tiger graduated Summa Cum Laud from the College of Experience In Oceanside, CA

Good feedback was given when questioned . Tiger is treated with gentleness and respect. The price is fair. The location is good. Dr. Kang and his wife are very accommodating and kind.

Oliver after the entropion surgery.

I started bringing my Shar Pei Oliver here since he was 9 weeks old, Dr. Kang is really knowledgeable with this specific breed. After seeing a few specialist Oliver needed entropion surgery and we decided to let Dr. Kang perform the procedure. He saved Oliver's eye sight! Oliver's also gotten neutered here and had his ears deep cleaned. Overall this is my trusted vet, and the staff are really friendly. Shar peis are known to be an aggressive breed and they're really good and patient with what they do. I live in San Diego so coming to see Dr. Kang is worth the 45 min drive! I won't take Oliver anywhere else. Thank you!

Sweet Yuki patient of Dr Kang!!!!!

I called, they picked up immediately, and let me know to come in asap. My fiance and I came in and they helped Luna right away. Although I was terrified for my dog, all the staff worked together to help her and help ease the nerves my fiance and I had. After a day full of anxiety and crying, everyone said Luna behaved super well, and were so compassionate towards the situation. I seriously can't thank you guys enough for everything. Im so grateful for how it turned out, especially cause with pinesol it could've gone much worse. THANK YOU

Absolutely unacceptable experience at Surfside Animal Hospital…read more I brought my dog in with a BROKEN LEG and paid good money for what I thought was professional care. After taking X-rays, I was told she would be fine with just a splint and that surgery was NOT needed. I trusted that advice, because that's what you're supposed to be able to do when you go to a vet. Days later, I get a voicemail from Dr. Goren admitting that after "really reviewing" the X-rays -- including images they already had but somehow didn't properly review -- they now believe my dog actually DOES need surgery and that it may not heal correctly without it. So my dog was sent home in pain with the WRONG treatment plan because they didn't even fully review her imaging the first time? That is not a small mistake. That is negligence. This delay could have serious consequences for my dog's recovery, all because of a lack of attention to detail. What makes this even worse is the emotional stress and complete betrayal of trust this has caused. As a pet owner, you rely on professionals to guide you during scary situations like this, and instead I was given false reassurance that directly impacted my dog's care. I paid for professional care and instead got careless decision-making and a complete lack of thoroughness. Now my dog may have to go through more pain, more stress, and more expense because of their mistake. If your pet has anything serious going on, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else or get a second opinion immediately. I would not trust this place with my pet's health again.

We started going to them over 10 years ago when we first got our beloved pup and when he passed away last September, the love and compassion they extended to our family makes me tear up today just thinking about it. They treat you like family, every time you go in, and you come away knowing they love your pet almost as much as you do. They are indeed the best!

Then at home we noticed at no point Dr. Dodd examined my cat . She listened to my concerns about a fat bump my cat had under his skin and recommended cytology . We left to think about this costly procedure. She also told me I should buy the intelident chews for $16 from her office because the brand she sold was pharmaceutical grade and only could be obtained in her office . I did purchase it. Then at home watching the video clip we saw the entire time she spent with my cat was 6 minutes which mostly I talked . At no point she examined my cat . She didn't touch the body, skeletal, neurological response, she didn't listen to lungs and heart . Didn't use her stereoscope at all. Then I called the office and asked Liz at the front desk to forward me the medical notes . She did . In this record Dr. Dodd noted there was no heart murmur and lungs were clear. Lymph nodes within normal limits and etc. she noted things that she had not examined . I called the office back and told Liz that I was calling to give Dr. Dodd an opportunity to set things right ( didn't ask for a refund ). Hoping for a 2nd visit . Dr. Dodd called me back and said this office wasn't for us and she reimbursed the $80 visit . By the way the inteldent product she sold me for $16 is available on Amazon for $8. In good conscience I felt important to leave this review that maybe this office, not only is not for me but also is not a fit for other cat owners who are looking for a quality care.

I was concerned about leaving him like usually is in any vet, he's an old boy, but they give him a little shoot to sedate him with me there so he never realized I left and they call me when he was starting to wake up, so I was there for him. Surgery went very well and today he's back playing ball. Dr. Perez is our vet now for my 2 Dogs, I am glad I found this place. Thank you guys !!!

The entire staff is attentive, compassionate, and clearly dedicated to making both pets and their owners feel comfortable every step of the way. What really sets this place apart is the vet. He consistently takes the time to explain everything in a way that actually makes sense--sometimes even using diagrams to break down medical concepts. It makes such a difference to fully understand what's going on, rather than feeling overwhelmed by complicated medical jargon. I always leave feeling informed and confident about Newton's care. On top of that, their pricing is very fair, which makes quality care accessible without added stress. Because of the amazing experiences I've had, I've referred several family members and friends--and they've all had equally positive visits. We truly love Dorado Animal and are so grateful to have found such a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and kind veterinary team.

When I noticed my dog Ruby acting strangely while eating and spitting out her food, I checked her…read moremouth and was surprised to find what appeared to be a fracture on one of her large back teeth. I immediately emailed the clinic with a few photos, and within 20 minutes I had both an email response and a phone call (just in case I missed the email), along with an appointment confirmed for 8am the very next morning with enough time reserved to perform an extraction if needed. The responsiveness alone was impressive. At drop-off, the surgery technician, Jorge, was incredible. He was knowledgeable, personable, and immediately put us at ease, especially since this was Ruby's first surgery requiring anesthesia. During our conversation and bringing up a certain topic, he mentioned he recently attended a dental conference which reassured us that the team is committed to continuing education and staying current with best practices. Dr. Gertz, whom Ruby has seen previously for routine care, was wonderful as always. She performed the initial exam, confirmed that the tooth appeared fractured, and explained that the team would call with a definitive diagnosis once dental X-rays had been completed. The treatment plan was straightforward - anesthesia, dental X-rays, bloodwork to ensure levels were appropriate before surgery, and a cleaning with extraction if necessary. A few hours after drop-off, we received a call confirming that the tooth was indeed fractured, although surprisingly still alive. Dr. Luna took the time to thoroughly explain the findings and our options. At no point did we feel pressured. She clearly outlined the pros and cons of proceeding versus monitoring the tooth and explained that leaving it untreated would likely lead to problems in the future. After discussing everything, we decided to move forward with the extraction since she was already under anesthesia. No more than a few minutes later, the team called again because they realized the cost of the updated treatment plan had not been reviewed. I actually hadn't noticed because I already trusted that the recommendation was medically appropriate and that the pricing would be fair (which it was). Still, I appreciated their transparency and professionalism in making sure every detail was discussed before proceeding. When we picked Ruby up around 2:00pm, Jorge spent considerable time reviewing her full-mouth dental X-rays with us and explaining exactly why the extraction was recommended. It was fascinating to learn more about canine dentistry, and we left feeling far more informed than when we arrived. He answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly (even the ones that were already covered in the aftercare packet we had just been handed!). We also were given a full sized sample of a recommended oral rinse for regular maintenance. Ruby recovered exceptionally well from the surgery, which was a huge relief. She had previously undergone sedation prior to X-rays at another clinic years ago and did not have a great experience, so we were naturally nervous. This time, her recovery was smooth, the extraction site is healing beautifully, and she came home comfortable with appropriate pain medication. She has shown no signs of discomfort throughout the recovery process. I also want to recognize Lauren at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the process. She worked with us to ensure detailed notes were included in Ruby's chart to help prevent potential insurance issues and even went a step further by following up with the doctor after we left to request additional documentation that could support a smoother claims process. That level of attention and advocacy is rare and deeply appreciated. Overall, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We even received a call a few days after her surgery to simply check in on her recovery. From the front office staff to the technicians and veterinarians, every person we interacted with was compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in Ruby's well-being. The communication was outstanding, the care was exceptional, and we never once felt rushed or pressured. Ruby is family to us, and the trust we place in those caring for her is not something we take lightly. We are incredibly grateful for the entire team and feel completely confident entrusting them with the health and care of both of our dogs. Bonus: they were giving out adorable supergirl bandanas they received as promo material!

SoCal Vet is the place to go for your pet's dental cleanings. SoCal Vet quoted me 1/3 of the price of other Vets in my area- about $700 for a 20lb doggy with poor dental. The price included blood work, x-rays, anesthesia, meds, AND extractions. My pug needed quite a few teefs removed. They clipped her nails free of charge. The Gentlemen (forgive me, I forgot his name) who went over x-rays and cleaned her teeth is great at what he does! I have since taken her back for a dental check, and brought my other pug. Both were sedated and received the full dental treatment. The price has remained the same for each! Dr and Staff are sweet; they are busy, but very kind. Def recommend them.
