While Outpost Armory Franklin isn't as new or shiny as some other gun stores, they have plenty of brands and inventory (including firearms on consignment). Personally, we liked the clean, somewhat rustic, humble, down-to-earth feel of the place. (If you want super fancy tactical vibes, that's cool too, but probably not the ideal place for you.) Most importantly, we received kind, approachable, and prompt assistance from the staff who exemplified customer service by listening attentively and offering helpful feedback/suggestions. We also saw how they all worked well together as a team. At the end, we decided to make our purchase with them and will continue to rely first on Outpost Armory for future purchases/assistance.

Foggy Bottoms is a super cute spot with tons of charm and very friendly staff. We arrived to check in (no reservation) at 10:30am and the staff gave us a very honest warning that water levels were SUPER low. They explained the pain points of canoeing in such low water levels very thoroughly, but despite the warnings, we decided to give a go and I'm so glad we did! Because of the staffs transparency, we knew what to expect and we were prepared to encounter a few spots along the way that gave us a little trouble. All in all, it wasn't bad at all! We spent 6 hours on this 3 hour ride making tons of stops along the way to float in the inter tubes we brought along with us. Had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

I've camped with them and kayaked and it's a great experience all around! Plenty of parking, then they shuttle you to the starting point of the river. Once they get your boat into the water you make your way back and it's just such a gorgeous way to spend a summer or fall day! Pack a lunch and paddle away! Staff is kind. Fellow canoe-ers and kayak-ers are fun to talk to along the way. I think my only complaint would be that many large groups go and sometimes just sit in the middle of the river in a clump and it can be difficult to get around them. That however, is not Foggy Bottoms fault. If you are looking to get outside and do something active I highly recommend you use FB. They are convenient and a great way to spend your day. I've never had staff help here that seemed anything other than them trying to make a sale. I went there today with a pair of Vasque boots whose sole cushioning had dry rotted after 3 years. The manager said there was nothing that Vasque would do, and recommended a cobbler on the West Coast who would repair them for $60. Instead I took the boots to Cumberland Transit, and 15 minutes after I had walked out of BRMS, Cumberland said no problem. All I had to do was pay $10 shipping to have them sent back to Vasque to get new soles. It also ticked me off that the lady at BRMS repeatedly said the soles had delaminated, when in fact they had dry-rotted, something I had to point out to her multiple times. In short, this is the worst BRMS store I have ever been in, and one of the worst outdoor stores in the Nashville area, which is consistent with the reviews I have heard from other outdoor buffs. I guess they stay in business catering to the Belle Meade label conscious crowd.

I was standing at the counter when someone came in wanting to sell a gun, the owner picked up the gun and neglected to point in in a safe area to check/clear it. It was pointed sideways right at my midsection while he looked at it. I backed away from the counter and left. My biggest issues is that this is not a gun that he had inspected previously, he was literally just introduced to it and handled it like it was not a firearm. I will never go back there.

The store was late opening -- I had an appointment at opening time, as did another couple -- and once inside, we were treated to an employee feud over who had to take the first appointments. Lots of drama and side eye. So glad I got out of bed on Saturday morning for this. Said me never. Many years ago, I worked retail in a mall. Two retail jobs in two malls, to be precise. In dinosaur days, we kept the employee feuds in the back, away from the customers. "Don't bring it to the floor," as one of my managers used to say. Good times! On the upside, the person who drew the short straw and had to help me gave me some good tips on bike settings, and she fixed my rattling cleats so they don't rattle anymore.
