If I could give them 0 stars I would I went in and purchased an air pump and air disk and neither of them worked so I called them and they told me there was nothing they could do they couldn't replace it or give me my money back they never discussed any return policy's I would highly recommend you don't go there because God's they sell you a faulty product you're stuck with it read more

This place is great! Was helped by a really handsome young man who I later found out is the manager. He was super helpful and was super informative teaching me things and helping me get all the supplies I needed. Colliers has a great selection of chicken feed and feeders. You can buy it by the scoop or in larger bags. The last reviewer was right that the employees aren't all over you asking if you need help, but if you approach anyone at the front desk, you'll get the help you need. The man at the front desk (the owner, I think) is very fair and let me exchange an unopened bag of feed for another even though I bought it a few months ago and didn't have my receipt. You can get chicks here and bunnies too! They have a very small selection of cat food though. read more

This business should be closed or restructured immediately. The two owners are unable to keep it in good conditions and are constantly forgetting to restock the shelve, almost every time I go in for rabbit food they never seem to have any in stock. However, the employees were surprisingly nice and it made me feel bad that they had to put up with such bad bosses and management. Friday afternoon I drove into the parking lot of Collier Feed to purchase supplies for my two new kittens. I was looking for an open parking space when an older man with a name tag yelled at me that I couldn't park in the middle of the parking lot. I had not parked my vehicle, as a matter of fact I was intending to reverse and park in a space behind my vehicle. When this Older man yelled at me, he used a discriminatory attitude and unbelievable display of anger as he walked away. A young lady behind him asked me if I was looking for a place to park and I said yes. She pointed to the next parking areas available to the public. At that point the damage had already been done! I don't need to spend my money at Collier Feed, after that horrible experience in the parking lot. I drove off to Pet Smart and I will never go back to Collier Feed or recommend this business. No one should be yelled at for no reason, but the worst part of this appalling incidente is that my Daughter witnessed it! read more

My husband came in this morning to get an eye wash for our dog. He uses canes and struggles to get around. He went to the front and asked for help from who we find out is the owners wife. She told him they didn't have anything like that. He went ahead and looked anyway and found it. I tried to call and talk to Tom whom my family has done business with for 30 years or more. I tried to call as soon as my husband left to speak to Tom who my husband said was sitting beside the lady at the cash register. I called 5 times and they did not answer the phone finally they answered the phone and I was given his wife to speak to and I told her what happened and she said will she didn't think that they had any that an employee must have put it out and I told her that they treated my husband very rudely while he was there and that we would not be coming back again at which time she proceeded to tell me that that was okay because I was the only one who wouldn't come back again. I just moved down the street and was excited to support a local pet business but when I went in there it was so sad. Even if the animals are for food for some they don't need to be kept on those conditions. I can't imagine what they do behind closed doors. I know it's a feed store but they were the only ones who carried rats and I was trying to purchase 2 as pets, some young guy working overheard me and my bf talking about getting them and once he heard that they were going to be used as pets he said they couldn't sell them to me because they are food only. Why would it matter what I choose to do with them honestly? I understand the fact that they weren't held and could be very scared as pets but I've owned 4 rats a few years ago and I got 2 at a feed store. Those 2 just needed some extra time and love. But for him to be so rude and automatically shut us out like that was not a good first experience. My bf just said that he could've said they were for his "pet snake" which he doesn't have but we could've easily lied to him and then what? It was just a bummer. I wouldn't recommend coming here. The people who come here often are those with farms (hence the name). These people are able to buy in bulk and save. If you're a regular customer stop by petfun or Petsmart instead. The customer service here is horrible. The lady at the front comes off as rude. The staff (which is made up of teenage/young adults) are not friendly or helpful. The store itself is dirty and unorganized. The animals are kept in poor condition. They are overcrowded, low on food and have the dirtiest cages I've ever seen. They are kept in tight cages where they barely have the room to eat/poop. I'm surprised they still sell animals and haven't had a visit from the SPCA for animal cruelty. I'd advise to hire a cleaning staff for the store and the animals. Their own pets (cockatoos and amazon Infront of store & back) have it bad. They only have 2 small perches, no toys and no food variety. Their cages are small as well. They are going bald from feather plucking! This is the result from stress, no interaction and no enrichment. Please learn how to take care of your own animals before you consider selling some in bad conditions. read more

We have been coming to this feed store for years. We've bought animal seed, hay and animals from them. The past two years has been declining so badly! They never have the seed we are looking for in stock. If it is in stock, I could get it to my car faster then the guys in the back. Recently we took some animals to sell (which we called ahead to see if they'd take them) once we got there the woman said she wouldn't take them. Such a waste of time. The customer service is terrible. They lost loyal customers today. We will not be going back. read more

This store is great for all types of pet owners! I have 2 ferrets and a hedgehog who LOVE visiting the store with me! Its like a huge barn and my ferrets love running around on their leash! I get feeder mice for my Toad Kermit, and they always have them in stock! They also have a great deal on crickets... 12 for 1$! AND.. they have GREAT dog treats, my dogs love the small chicken jerkey strips, but the pig ears are also their favorite, so i just buy some of both! read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store. It was a horrible experience and we were disappointed. We were there this past Monday...it was quiet..maybe one other customer in the store. My husband & kids & I walked in...out of the 4 employ ees...not 1 asked if they could help us.(only one was busy w/ the other customer in the store) The two young guys in the back(by the bunnies) were busy chatting(personal chat)..what a joke these 2 employees are! They only came out to help when a young woman in a mini-mini skirt and cowboy boots walked to our location...then and only then did one of them get offered some help...and it was not to us!! He walked directly to her. My husband & I could not believe it!! After I finally found someone to help us..The lady that rang up our bale of straw was no friendlier.She promised someone would come help us in the barn area as she pointed off in a vague direction...as if we knew where to go & what to do(this is the first time we have ever purchased anything at their store)...no one ever showed up to the barn area. Finally, my husband opened the barn door and grabbed the bale of straw himself!! They are lucky we are honest people...someone with a truck could have helped themselves to all they wanted!! Terrible service!! First time in the place and it will be our last!! What a shame they are the closest game in town!! I know they have been in business a long time but I can tell you from our experience..it is not due to stellar( or any) customer service. I hope our bad experience was an isolated incident!! Perhaps the owners need to conduct a few shop & checks. Just a thought! My dad went there looking to buy some baby chickens and he was shocked at the conditions the animals where kept in. He immediately left in fear getting Ecoli or a staff infection , he said it was that bad, animal police needs to visit that place for the safety of the people and the animals since the the people at that store do not care. I support local businesses. Collier Feed has been in business long before Petsmart and Petco came to Salinas. I agree it's not the cleanest store in town - but it's a feed/supply store!! And it's not a petting zoo either!! Just go in and buy what you need. If you can't find it, ask at the counter, someone will have the answer, especially Tom C. it's a basic feed and supply store and they are good at what they do. read more

colliers have been around ever since i was little..many many years. seems ever since the old man died, so did the business. from time to time i go in there to browse. nobody comes to me to ask if i need anything. there prices are high. they are not so much a large animal feed store. when i need to buy grain for my horse, they've never have it in stock..when i go to see the baby chicks, it never fails to be one or two dead and their presentation of animals for sale is so unsanitary. the rabbit cage had like six inches of feces stacked up. aannddd the employees that are answering the phones barely speak english and cannot answer questions. i am disappointed in tom, the guy that now runs the place. sooo, instead of doing business with colliers, i go to the feed trough on hwy 68 or daves hay barn is very very good and inexpensive, but they are tucked behind sanborn rd, and then there is rogers. kind of on the high end, but the staff is very knowledgeable and help the customer, although they do not carry feed, they have alot of horse tack. sooo that is my review. read more
