These people don't know what they are talking about. I live in a 45 year old apartment and ken who came out said my 10 gallon fish tank water pump is causing all the extreme condensation and black mold that grows in every window in every room. The fish tank is in the living room and my lizard lights are turned off all night and in the morning my bedroom window aswell as my son's bedroom window with the door shut mind you... are so covered in condensation you can't even see out of the window. You wipe your hand on the frame and its like you just washed your hands there's that much. He didn't even look at the windows or the frames and immediately pointed at the fish tank and said that was the issue... even though I've had fish tanks my entire life... this is the only place this has ever happened. I am really disappointed to write this review. We got shower doors installed for nearly $4,000 in November 2023 and within a couple of weeks one of the hinges started to slip, causing the glass to overlap. At this point we called to have it adjusted. At no point were we told that this would be a consistent issue. Ivan (who is lovely) came out and adjusted the doors and told us that this was common with these kind of hinges, not something we were warned about. This adjustment lasted about two months, before the doors were once again overlapping. We called and Ivan and Fernando (not so lovely) came out to adjust the doors, this time leaving a nice tile crack where the hinge was adjusted. No accountability for the tile crack, but told us to call them again if the hinge slipped. Another couple of months pass and the hinge slips again, this time, we are accused of hanging on the door (by Fernando - again, not so lovely). Which is not possible, based on where the door is located and a cabinet that would make it impossible to hang from the door. We point out the crack, and were told that wasnt caused by them - even though I have pictures of before the hinge was adjusted and after. We were getting the kitchen remodeled and noticed that the hinge once again slipped, but figured we would wait because we werent going to be there much for the kitchen remodel and it was the end of year. So now about 14-months after the payment of these doors (about 11 months from the install) we have shower doors with a persistent issue of slipping and are told that we will be charged for each adjustment at $250 per visit. This is crazy for the amount that we paid for the doors and the fact that this has been an issue since DAY ONE! This business lacks integrity and doesnt stand by their products to say the least. I would take my money elsewhere. The install period and when the stuff is being installed was great but dont count on them for quality and long-term sustainability. read more

I had a straight-forward broken window replacement job. After the estimate I was told it would take 4-6 weeks to get the glass. I was surprised but agreed - not sure how you can tout yourself as 'emergency glass repair' when you have a lead time that long. So, after 5 weeks I called, and they had the glass but did not bother to contact me. Still, we set a 2-hour appt window for the following day and they failed to show. No call, or contact of any kind, just a blatant no-show. So, thanks to A1 I'm going into week 6 with a cardboard covered window and starting my search for glass replacement over. Two person crew popped very large mirrors of the walls of two bathrooms, filled in the holes in the drywall which were going to be behind the new (smaller, bevel-edged) mirrors, and installed them in under two hours. They arrived on time, answered all of my questions, kept to their bid, and consulted with me. I filled in the rest of the holes in the drywall, resurfaced the areas, and painted around each mirror in order to get the project done in one day. As the saying goes...."if I could give zero to negative stars I would". This review is not to spite the company but to warn other customers to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! My experience with A1 Glass Beaverton was a comedy of errors....though I am not laughing. It started with an incorrect quote, which I had to call and tell the company about (even though the quote was actually in MY favor). Then I scheduled the window replacement. The written estimate noted that work will be completed 2-4 weeks after written quote. I did not hear from them for 4 weeks and called them to inquire. They said simply the glass was "on order" and they were waiting. After another period of time, I called them and they said they were having a problem with the supplier and they would need more time (they did not bother to pick up the phone and tell me that even though now it was well over a month....going on 2 months). After finally receiving the glass, they scheduled the install on dates when I told them I would be out of town. I received a text in the morning and scrambled to try to find someone to go to the house to meet them. I texted them back questioning why they scheduled it when they knew I was away. Heather sent me a text back saying "I didn't confirm the appointment because I knew you would be overseas". Uhm...well then why did I receive a text saying they were on their way? The appt was then rescheduled to a little over a week later. When the gentlemen arrived to install the glass, they said the measurements that the estimator took were incorrect. After removing my window and trying to make it work, they could not. They simply put my old glass back in the frame and said they could not complete the job and that the office would be in touch. Well, after two weeks I called because no one had called me back. Heather said that "she didn't want to pass the buck, but the installers were supposed to call me back". I then told her that the installers told me that the worn out rubber gasket surrounding the window that was part of the job as per her written email confirmation would not be part of the job "as the gaskets are way too expensive to replace" (said by one of the installers). Really?? You said it was covered and now you are trying to put new windows in a frame with a gasket that is obviously falling apart?? How is this acceptable workmanship PLUS you confirmed in your email that it was included. When I asked Heather about this she said she was new and misunderstood my question about the gasket. I told her to take this situation to the owner as it has now been 3.5 months since I gave them my deposit and that this entire experience was unacceptable. The owner, Bryce, called me back and said that they could not replace the gasket and had no means of sourcing one. REALLY? You are a window company and can't do a gasket on a window? I let him know of my ridiculous experience with his company and he just KEPT repeating that they could not complete the work. The best he could do is give me my deposit back. He made no effort to remedy the problem. So.....now after almost 4 months, I am at ground zero. Thanks for nothing but a hassle. read more

We had high hopes about this company based on their sales and showroom. the experience started out great. They scheduled a time for measurement, and that went well. Then they told us 3-5 weeks for install. Well, after we didn't hear anything at week 4, I called and they said the glass was damaged. They had to get another shipment, due the next week. Disappointed but we didn't want damaged glass. The glass FINALLY came in undamaged, after I called again to get an appointment set up. They came and installed and noticed the glass was cut wrong, so waiting again. Then we were told we had a difficult shower. We don't think so, but we did hire a so called professional. So, we waited another 4 days. They came to install and the guy had problems and blamed it again on a difficult shower. He installed the glass off centered, grout lines looked bad, metal corners over hanging and sharp, and a leak. We called and complained, and they said they would have to reorder glass again. Then I measured and found the glass was not square, so they schedule 20 minutes to come out and measure again. The installer walked in and said he will be happy to be done with this job. My wife told him she had an appointment and he cut her off, and tried to stop her from speaking. So, they didn't up ordering new glass, and they finally installed it correctly. A-1 came out to replace a fogged double-paned window, it had a broken seal. The installer was on time, put in the new window, but there was a flaw in between the panes. Okay, stuff happens, so he will tell them back at the office and they will order a new window. It took about a week and when they call to confirm the date I tell the woman that the first appt. of the day is best. I live in Tualatin but work near Lloyd center so it is difficult to run back and forth. The same installer comes out the second time, on time, installs the window, but there is a flaw in between the panes - again! He said there was a sticker over it and he didn't see the flaw. He tells me he will inform the office, they will order a new window and he will personally inspect it. Now I'm wondering about their quality control - or lack of it. They don't manufacture the window, but I would think it would be inspected before they waste my time and theirs coming to the house. It took about a week and Alvina calls to confirm installation the next day. Wait, what - tomorrow doesn't work for me. She acts as if it's a given it will happen tomorrow. This is the first call about install #3. I tell Alvina I'm a little surprised I have not heard from anyone in management at this point. How are they going to make sure this window is not also flawed? She gives me a lame answer about not being able to see all flaws until it gets to your house in your light conditions. I tell her this is really inconvenient as I've had to take off work three times. In a bit of a snarky manner she says they are trying to accommodate me. Accommodate me? How so, because I need the first appt. of the day she says. They wouldn't have had to "accommodate me" if they had gotten it right the first time. Install #3 is finally correct. They get one star because they got it right the second time. One of the 4 small pieces of glass on our front yard lamp post fixture broke so I needed a replacement. Took in and left with them one of the three remaining glass pieces for them to use as a pattern. Weeks later they said it was done. My wife picked it up and luckily she opened the packaging there and found that the piece they cut was much thicker than the pattern piece they were given...wouldn't fit in the lamp post frame. A week later and another trip to A-1 we picked up the correctly cut piece. Bad Company that doesn't stand behind the work! I replaced my outdoor terrace skylights with this company, because they were referred to me. They leaked from the very beginning. After over 7+ visits to try and fix the leak, they now claim my leak has nothing to do with the skylights, but rather are a problem with the roof flashing. Too bad 1 star is the lowest you can get, cause this company is bad news! We just bought our house, and A1 Glass was the company the previous owner used. So, when there was a discrepancy between what work should have been done and what was actually done, I had to follow up. It started when I spoke with Emily in the office. She didn't sound very confident with the information she was giving me over the phone, and changed her story as we continued. At one point she said, "whatever work needs to be done, we decide by listening to the inspectors report." I thought, "great, because the work that was done didn't match the report, so you guys missed some windows." She quickly changed her story to, "well we don't actually read the reports. We just go off of what the client tells us to do. It's his job to interpret the report." OK, I got it, they didn't want to admit they messed up. Bad sign already, but I pressed forward with them anyway. So, I made an appointment for them to come out and price the windows that they missed (which, by the way, were panes within windows that they originally replaced, so it's beyond me how they could have possibly overlooked them!). Fast forward to Joe, who was the original employee who took the order, and did the work. I asked that he be the one to return so that I could confirm what initially happened with the job request. Well, he was very cold, abrupt, and stated, "[The original owner] showed us all the windows marked with blue tape. So we replaced the ones with blue tape." WAIT A MINUTE!! If that was true, then why didn't they replace the others that they missed?! THEY STILL HAD THE BLUE TAPE ON THEM. And, I had picture proof that they were marked before the job was even started as our fabulous inspector printed them out in the report! Well, they didn't like that they were being put on the spot. They didn't want to admit they had CLEARLY screwed up. Correcting the mistake free of charge would have demonstrated great customer service on their part, and I would happily have continued to use their services. Instead, Joe coldly closed our conversation with, "we replaced the windows [the previous owner] showed us. I can provide you with an estimate for these three." When I then requested, in writing, what Joe said, he refused. I just needed him to write down that he was only doing what the owner had requested, because then I could go back to the owner and say, "sorry, you missed a few, and I just need you to pay for them like you promised." Joe's argument was, he didn't want to ruin the good standing of a client. Well good job Joe! And Emily! And A1 Glass! You decided to side with a person who moved to Florida and will no longer be using your services, rather than siding with a new potential client and providing great customer service, one who lives here, and has 32 big windows in her house! Let me start by saying that I've dealt with A LOT of contractors in the past year - some of them good, some of them bad, a very few of them great. A-1 glass falls into the "great" category! From the first contact, A-1 was professional and timely, sometimes a rarity among contractors. Charles came out and gave me an estimate on installing a large piece of mirror in our master bath and a glass shower door, which came in at about half the price of what our former GC had quoted. I had a custom coffee table top cut from a template I provided, and am happy with the end result. The overall experience was marred, ironically, by the fact that they crated the glass as though they were expecting me to be in a car crash on the way home! It took me 15 mins just to prise apart the metal bands around it (!), and without a crowbar I couldn't get any farther - even once I borrowed one it was very challenging to get enough of the long staples out to extract the glass (they were spaced every 4"). Finally I had to break down the crate and dispose of it - a massive PITA and wasteful of resources. read more

We almost didn't go to A1 because we read a couple of negative reviews, then due to convenience we decided to try them. Our experience was great. The people were helpful and friendly and we got exactly what we needed (glass inserts for some new cabinet doors). When I came to pick them up I noticed a "seed" in one of the pieces of glass (which apparently is pretty common in certain types of art glass). Before I could even decide how much it bothered me or if I was going to ask for a replacement, the person helping me offered to call the supplier and request a new one. Great service. read more

More like A+ Glass, this place is great!! This was my second time using A-1 Glass, the first item was a sliding shower door. It would have cost me 3x as much to purchase a new set from Homedepot, but I only needed one side of the sliding door. I took the good side to A-1 and they were able to use that as a reference. The new glass was perfect in size, fit the old hardware, and was done in a very reasonable amount of time. I easily saved a couple hundred, plus the time and effort it would have taken me to install a new shower door set. The second item was from a truck canopy, the front sliding glass door. These things are impossible to replace because the dimensions are specific to the cab, this one in-particular was pretty old too. Replacing the entire unit was very expensive so I took it to A-1, and of course they fixed it!! They put in a new slide piece that fits perfectly. This fix literally saved me hundreds, a lot of time, effort, and headache. I am 100% satisfied w/ A-1 Glass and the service they've provided. They are friendly, easy to work with, very reasonable pricing, fast turn-around, and I can't say enough good things about these guys. Highly recommend! Thank you so much for saving me time and money. However i am very disappointed after i return to this company as a loyal customer for installation one single glass this year . i got 30% price increase for this single piece which i am ok as it is not group buy . There is no update on when it will be installed after i called the customer service and said to proceed 3 weeks ago . I have two sliding patio doors that have distorted glass. Well, I called A-1 and talked with Sky to set up an appt. for someone to come take a look and give an estimate. Bill arrived the next morning and gave me a great price and was very knowledgeable and informative about what should be done. Replacing the entire door frame unit would have been messy and very costly. So -- installing new glass made sense honestly....... since it was a custom glass size order, a week later --- Bill arrived here with a helper named Cory. Wow - these guys sure work great together. In less than two hours they had replaced the huge glass panels in my sliders and were packed up and out of here. If you're in need to glass......call and ask for Bill. He is fantastic.
