I was hit in the rear while waiting in a fast food drive through. After reporting the claim to my insurance company, I took my car to Eckles. The insurance co wanted me to rent a Hertz car but Eckles has an Enterprise office on-site. Eckles arranged renting the Enterprise car with my insurance company. I drive a BMW and keep it looking good. The rear bumper needed replacing but the insurance co wanted to use a 'remanufactured' bumper, not a new one. Eckles said that was not acceptable and was able to get a new one approved. The paint work looks perfect and the car is as good as new. FIVE STARS! read more

Horrible quality paint/clear coat. Had them fix scratches 4 months ago and now it's rough and dull. They said it was due to heavy water deposit from sprinkler. I've owned my car for over 3 years and park same spot. It wasn't like this when I took it in. Their 5 yr warranty is BS and when I took it back they only had excuses My car looks worse than when I took it in. read more

The service reps and mechanics here are first class. They have an infinity insurance office and enterprise rental car office at the location, I just had to go to one place to make my claim, access my vehicle, drop off my vehicle, and pick up my rental car. Last time I was in an accident years ago it was such a headache to go to different places for all of this but they made it easy. I was the victim of a hit and run for my 2008 Honda Fit, an older car with 130k on it, and it came out of the shop looking like new. The mechanics are very considerate and they went the extra mile to make sure my vehicle was it its top condition before it left the shop. read more

Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They were courteous, friendly and honest from start to finish! My car was ready on the day they said and went above and beyond to make my car look good again. Im almost glad I had the accident cause my car hasnt looked this good in years! I appreciated not only their timeliness but also their honesty. There was a tiny lil set back in the process, but they corrected it and then some! went in to get a quote. everyone in this crappy place had an attitude. poorest customer service given. the guy was a jerk and could car less if he got my business or not. the quote given to me was $5000 when other 3 other local shops quoted me $3000. this place is a joke. take you business out of whittier if you want to be jerks and rip people off. read more

Bad Business Ethics, Recently went in for an estimate (Minor damage). They 1st gave me a verbal estimate of $2000.00, went on explaining what needed to be done, ok got it. Then I surprised then with i actually have an appointment setup by Farmers Insurance for the next day, ok. They passed me over to another Eckles estimator who knew this would be a cash payout by Farmers, This clown gave me a completely different estimate of $300.00. Eckles was trying to charge me $2000.00 for a $300.00 job, this according to Eckles themselves. DO NOT due business here, just saying. read more

The actual work done to my vehicle was great which is why I gave them two stars rather than one. The customer service however isn't the greatest. On three different occasions, they told me they were going to call me but they didn't, I ended up having to call them the next day on each of the three above mentioned instances. They also took over a month repairing my vehicle when the original estimate said five days. They did find additional damage which extended the repair time, they however only charged for fifty hours of labor so how fifty hours of labor equals a month is beyond me. When they did call me to tell me that it was ready, they called me back a little while later and told me they had ordered a wrong part and had to re-order it which would take five days to ship. Considering how long they had already taken and considering it was their fault, I would have thought they would have tried to overnight the part which they didn't. They also told me that they did realize it was the wrong part and when I expressed my dissatisfaction, they changed their tune and said they had misspoken and actually hadn't realized it was the wrong part until they went to put it on. Once it was all said and done and I went to pick my car up, I expected them to offer me a discount for the delay but they didn't. They didn't even offer me an apology but the guy did take the time out to tell my neighbor who gave me a ride to pick my car up, how pretty her eyes were. I am the customer, I am the one writing the check so why are you complimenting my friend rather than apologizing to me? Although the work was done well, based on the length of time they took and the lack of compensation and lack of an apology, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

POOR POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I Wish Yelp had negative stars I could them. My experience from the moment I walked into the office was dreadful I was trying to get estimates because my vehicle was rear ended the other driver had Farmers Insurance so that being said The "Manager" Jose was an absolute jerk talked down to me probably because I was a woman. First off he wouldn't give me an estimate without an approval through Farmers Insurance. So what if I was paying out of pocket guess u can't get a estimate??? Then he goes outside literally by force so with attitude and I show him what the damage. Which was the bumper, my carpet because my high heel tore the carpet, and the sensor in my car was acting up, and the car needed to be cleaned because i was holding a cup of coffee when i was hit. I left cause he said hed call me once he got my claims ok to do an estimate and The next day I get a call from Farmers Insurance telling me that I had green light to go to Eckos but that the shop said my damages were questionable. So not only did they not even call me but the called farmers who covering my damages to tell them that the damage in my car may just be wear . I was super pissed cause first off I was the client they could have called me to tell me they were contacting the insurance company and he was so rude to assume my damage wasn't from the accident when it was. I definitely did not take my vehicle to Eckos and management needs customer service training and a better attitude. read more

If you're like me, you're checking Yelp to see who does a great job on auto body work near you or within your insurance plan & came upon Eckles Auto Body . WELL THIS IS NOT IT GUYS! Nothing was fixed properly,had to take it back twice and it's still not right. The worst part is the Customer Service and how they took my car out for a joyride and left me on E. I mean, it was so unfathomably AWFUL, that I'm writing my 1st review ever on here to help YOU. So READ this short novel (HA) or be sorry like me....and "LA" who's review is spot on. No really though...... Here's what happened this August 2013: I brought my Nissan Sentra to Eckles for some damage on the PASSENGERS side bare in mind. Jose told my father all this stuff they'd take care of as a courtesy, because of the hassle we were getting from infinity insurance (I also don't recommend them! ) regardless of what insurance said, and that they would even fix the missing mud flap from the driver side "since they came in pairs" he said. We were completely thrilled, until they said to pick up the car......... Jose totally lied to us & never notified me the few times we spoke over the phone that he couldn't do any of it the things promised nor did they fix the all the parts they should have because of my accident. The radiator was leaking everywhere! How does a mechanic miss this!? Also the tint was all bubbled on pass side, & the door lock and window were BROKEN on pass side. (These were not prior to my visit I assure you.) Carlos (the 'owner') tried to accuse me of basically lying about my tail lights being out prior and that he fixed them, which peeved me immensely because it was on the assessment they weren't working! Of course he should fix it. All I wanted was my car fixed where need be and left the way I left it. Gas and all! No one asked for "EXTRA" help or to touch my lights! Now the few decent things his mechanics did do are completely out shadowed by all the negative aspects of this service and the poor attitude. I simply wanted respect as a client & my car done right in a timely manner, the FIRST time. Now I have to go pay for re-tint at my custom shop for Eckles mistake because they wont take responsibility and actually called my tint job cheap and that's why it bubbled. They are for lack of better language FULL OF SH*T . Both times I've had to come in I had a quarter tank of gas remaining. They sent me off both times on E with my gas light ON. First time I let it go, but when it happened AGAIN after all there mistakes I was livid and I asked why the heck is my gas light on?! They replied they had to "run it to make sure it worked for 15-20 min." So... in a small 4 cyl car 15-20 min ate up a a little over quarter tank of gas just sitting there??? That makes no sense. AT LEAST tell folks so they can make it home. He blurted out "We didn't drive it OK!" (Funny since, I hadn't asked yet if anyone had driven it)! Pretty much a DEAD give away they DID after that random outburst, especially because they left the AC blasting on full power when I started up my car!!! ( I ALWAYS shut it off before shutting off my car and why would they run the Ac at all?) CAUGHT YOU JOY DRIVING ON MY GAS ECKLES. Pathetic!!! SHAME ON YOU! Use your own cars to go pick up your lunch or run a an errand, not the customers. They actually broke a piece of plastic casing around the door handle off my DRIVER door. It fell off in my hand same day (super glued on.wow.) and the handle sticks(still). Carlos assured us it would be done right with a NEW plastic piece since they had bubbled my tint during painting.THAT SIDE WAS NOT HIT so why did they touch it & then claim they "made it better' for me?! I had to take my car back a 2nd time.Carlos was SO rude & kept reiterating how his guys spent two hours doing "extra" stuff. Well Carlos, that's what my insurance and fat deductible is for. I would never except sub par work naturally. They turned out to be your cliche, sleazy, mechanics with NO sense of professionalism and consistency past the first few days, what so ever. The kind you hope to AVOID in this field! Where's the business ethics and why wasn't Jose reprimanded for false promises from YOUR shop and the situation made right? I guess they don't care about their return rate. Choose another option unless you don't care about your car. This is by far the worst place I have ever been thesis place is a joke. I took my car here at first they where really nice but then I saw my car and the bumper was misaligned the paint started streaking on the first car wash the AC stopped working in the first week also up to this day it's not working right. I tried taking the car back but they gave me the run around. If you do take the car here be-careful and properly inspect it before you drive off with it because you will get a hard time taking it back. Your better of taking your car to a more professional place because these people charge expensive and it's a cheap as job. read more

My insurance recommended this body shop for damage to my prius door after an accident. They looked at the car and took a picture of the damage and estimated $700 to repair. They did not touch the car or open the door. Very poor inspection. I then brought in my Cadillac CTS for an estimate to repair a small damage at the front bumper corner. This time I came in as a CASH customer. The guy helping me took one look and said, I needed a new bumper. It would cost $1000.00 not including labor. What?!!! Not satisfied I took my Prius to another body shop for a second opinion. This inspector did a thorough check and concluded the damage would cost $1700.00 to repair. How did Eckles miss $1,000 of damage to my Prius. I took my cadillac to a different body shop also for a second opinion. They were honest and able to fix my vehicle in 3 days for $300, while Eckles was charging me $1,000 in just parts. The damage was the size of a credit card. Are they working with the insurance companies to swindle the clients??Do not take your vehicle to Eckles. Worst experience ever! read more

This most recent visit was the fourth time in four years. Of those only one was our fault! Our Honda Odyssey was clipped by another car, and I brought it in. They not only repaired the car (it looked better than when I brought it in!)......they also washed the exterior AND cleaned the interior! OK, so it was not like they did a full interior detail......but I think it is beyond the call of duty to have the auto body shop hit up the dash and console with armor all, clean the floor mats, etc.......all this would not have been worth it if the quality of their repair work was subpar, but it was not. They did a great job. Good service, friendly staff......if I ever have the misfortune of another accident, at least I know who is working on our car! read more

I read the last review and found it a bit comical & written by an irritated customer that probably wanted more for less? or cash in his pocket? I rarely write comments but feel that yelp can sometimes work for someone who just wants to get even with a business out of spite? I really feel bad that he (LA) had to take his car back to this shop 3 times but sometimes its not the body shop? it could have been the product? Why even deal with the shop if you felt you werent getting the service or problem taken care of the first time? Why not contact your insurance company and let them handle it? Thats who you pay to deal with these issues anyhow? The collision industry is no longer the lets make a deal industry it once was, they all have to deal with insurance companies to keep there doors open and the California B.A.R.? California has the most stringent Auto Body laws in the country. I took my car here and had excellent service! from the moment I walked in to the minute I left. I have nothing bad to say about Eckles Auto Body. I asked about the product they used after I read the last review from (LA) and found that this shop had recenlty switched from PPG water based paint to a more Euopean solvent/water based brand from BASF Chemical, because of the issue with this irrate customer. I took the time to educate myself about products used on my car rather than just drop it off and take a wait and see attitude? Funny how people just ASSUME but we all know what that stands for? In fact the front office person took a more proactive approach and educated me on the system they use and even discussed the product failure that (LA) takled about? They could of not talked about this customer, but they embrassed it and made a switch! This shop is probably one of the better shops in the area as far as cleaness, state of the art equipment and quality of work. There's always two sides to a story so dont let one person ruin the reputation of a hard working business that really goes out of there way to make a person feel good when your going through the stressful time of a car accident! I wish I was as tech savy as LA to put in real pictures in my review but I am totaly happy with the work on my car. I gave these guys 4 stars just because theres always room for improvement going off the last review to mine this shop shows they made the switch to BASF chemical to keep there customers happy! read more

This auto body shop goes above and beyond in customer service. This is the second place that we had been to in the last 6 months for auto repairs and at Eckles we received the best care and consideration. They are a very honest and trusting company to work with. They are very loyal to their customers and tailor everything to the customers needs. I had the pleasure of working with Jose to get my car back in tip top shape. He even went out of his way to deal with my insurance company to get my stickers put back on my car properly (which had been removed and not replaced by a previous shop in El Monte). At Eckles they say "Customer satisfaction is our goal" and I can't express how pleased I am to have them take care of my car. Thank you Eckles and Jose for your superb customer service! If I could, I would give Carlos and his staff at Eckles Auto Body a 10+ rating!! I brought my 2011 Buick in for repair as the rear tail light and bumper had been hit by another car backing out of a parking place in the parking lot. My car has always been garage kept and I keep it well maintained. Needless to say, I was very nervous about bringing it in to someone I knew nothing about. Eckles Auto Repair was referred to me by the other insurance company. Carlos assured me again and again that my car was in good hands and he told me he would not release the car to me until it met his satisfaction. The car has an expensive pearl three step paint job which I feared would be hard to match up. I have to say, when I picked up the car, I was pleasantly surprised. My car looked brand new. The service, the attention to detail and the quality of craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. I was treated like royalty from the moment I walked in. I would highly recommend Eckles to anyone needing repair work done on their vehicle. I will definitely be referring them in the future! read more

I had gotten side swiped by a truck on the highway, as it was changing lane, needless to say I was depressed as the damage was extensive, especially knowing it was my day off work. I really should've been resting that day. But the angels smiled as a representative at AAA sent me to "Eckles" auto body repairs. They took the time to get me set up in a rental, and assured me my car would be "good to go" in a few days. Like their "word was said", within a few days my car's body work never looked so good, compared to the 1st time I saw the car. They were attentive, patient and most of all considerate. read more
