The owner FARNEY does excellent work at very reasonable prices. He comes to my home, goes over my entire car and tell me what he thinks I should have he picks up the car and brings it back the next day doing great work, he has excellent prices, I've been using him for many years as well as many of my friends and family. I never hear of anything but great things to say about collision specialist and its owner Farney Brown. I could not be happier or more satisfied. I cannot say enough good things about James, the way he operates his business, his crew, his prices and the quality of the work done at his shop. My beloved 1982 Mercedes Benz 240d had a bad case of the ol' tin worm (rust) in spots that I could not see... basically all of the spots that were not exactly typical on these cars and were hidden from view unless you took the car apart in a lot of spots... Yes, I bought the car when I lived in the Northeast of the US. Anyway, James was great with communication the entire time as he and his crew replaced all of the seals on the Benz, replaced my windshield and patched up all of the rust on the car. In the end he really took care of me on the price of the work. I intend to have this car outlive me (I just turned 31) and I truly believe that now its a lock. I also would like to say that I know a lil bit about cars and bodywork at this point and James and the crew can really really make things look perfect. I have become friends with James after having worked with him on a couple cars and I have gotten to know him.. he is a real class act and just is someone I enjoy talking to. It almost makes me wish I had more work for him so I could hang out and chat with him. During the repairs he would send me many pictures of the before and after with notes on where it was on the car along with phone calls to explain everything. You usually do not get that from someone who owns and manages a busy body shop! It was great to print them and add them to my service records binder that dates back to when the car was imported from Germany! I should also mention that he was on vacation for a week in Mexico during the process and he still managed to speak to me every single day during that (the Benz had some important work done during this week by one of his main guys) and even though I apologized profusely for bothering him during his vacation he was incredibly understanding and kind to me. If your car needs bodywork or paint or whatever, give the guy a call.. you will not be disappointed! read more

Collision Specialists is the best! James and his guys have worked on 2 of my cars in the past couple of years and I am always pleased. Mr. Brown takes pride in his business, pays close attention to details, always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. He is honest, forthright, affordable and fair. My 2nd car, which is a CLASSIC VW Westy was rusted out. I only trusted Collision Specialist and James Brown to do the job with my favourite car. It was not an easy job and they found a way to find the right parts for it. Now my VW looks brand new! I love it - I am grateful and I thank James B. and his boys at Collision Specialists! I'm back for another review of Collision Specialists. This time my Lexus was vandalized. Front passenger side window was shattered. I thought I had to only replace the glass. Nope, there was more to it than that. Brought it to Farney and he showed me that not only the glass, but other parts were broken because vandals used a crowbar on the door. I left the car in good hands. Farney gave me updates on progress. He discovered even more damage and contacted my insurance company for a Supplemental Estimate of the new damage. This is long overdue but I wanted to express my appreciation to James and the guys at the shop for their outstanding service. I brought my car to Collision Specialists after being involved in a car accident. I wasn't sure how to handle the situation but luckily James took care of everything from beginning to end. He explained the process, sent me regular updates and made sure I had a ride to the car rental location and back. When I got my car back it looked amazing, like a brand new car, and they even washed and clean it and took care of the scratches. This place is the best and I can't recommend it enough read more

Farney, the owner, was referred to me by a neighbor; she called him "the Marlboro Man" because of his appearance. I don't know about that, but I have used his shop for repairs twice, and received excellent care both times. In the last incident, I got into a bumper to bumper parking lot accident, and I didn't want to report it to insurance. I got a few estimates, but collision had the BEST DEAL - saving up to $500. I got a ride both to and from the shop and Farney kept me informed of everything. It took longer than expected but it was worth it. His son was cleaning the interior when I came to get it. . . I like a local family business in this day and age!!!! read more

My car was a mass when I picked it up dirty a flat tire the next morning the work was OK just satisfactory but then I was charged twice as much and I feel I was overcharge I will never recommend collision specialist on 4606 West Adam's boulevard downtown LA or bring another card to to that shop read more

I was a bit hesitant when driving down the industrial complex where this shop is located. It looked dirty and ghetto lol! But I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very 'homey' feeling there. Farney is great guy, and he knows all about the History of Santa Monica because he's been there his whole life. Not only was he sooooo honest, but he wa very affordable too. I went to 5 body shops before him, and the lowest quote I recived was $1900. When I went to him, he quoted me for $450! And the work was amazing. You seriously could never tell I had any of that front end damage after they were done. One of the gus who works there, Clemente, is also great. He's only about 4'10", but he is STRONG! And fast! I saw him in action. The three things I liked the most about this place were: 1. Everyone could speak clear English 2. Price was VERY affordable (would have been better if I had full insurance coverage because then it would have been free :/) 3. Farney made me feel very welcome to come back if I had any questions or concerns about the work they did without charge HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

best auto body repair shop ever! james farney, owner, runs a fantastic, experienced business here and i cannot say enough good things about my experience there. he knows what he is doing and is a total articulate professional. when some moron hit me in an intersection, i had a referral for collision specialists and knew immediately that i would chose this place. they worked professionally, seamlessly and competently with the insurance companies. they made sure everything was perfectly accurate and quoted us a good price for the repairs. things were simple and clear. no b.s. collision specialists made an unfortunate and inconvenient situation work out for the best and advised me on matters that i was and would have been unaware of otherwise. additionally, when i got my car back from them, it looked almost new! i was so happy with the job they did on every level. excellent, meticulous repair work, and solid, great workmanship. timely, efficient turn around time. personal calls with updates about how my car was doing. she came back clean and shiny, inside and out! even nicer than when i got her! frankly, i wouldnt trust anyone else with this type of work and have recommended this place to several friends. overall, james farney is a great guy and your vehicle is in good hands. read more
