There's a lot of choices around LA, but I've been so impressed by Cook's service and how they treat their customers. Everyone I've interacted with there has been so helpful and it feels like they drop whatever they are doing to help you out without skipping a beat. For every issue my car has had, they have dealt with it incredibly quickly and their communication has been top notch. I feel like they really truly care about their customers and have no ego or attitude like some other places. They always go above and beyond and I don't even have to think twice about bringing my car in. I've had them fix multiple things on my car from alignment to shocks to breaks. I would absolutely bring my car in for anything else. The prices are great and I feel good when I leave. They honestly do such a great job and I have no complaints. Keep up the good work fellas.

Went to the BMW dealership and they said I needed front brakes replaced and also had a nail in the…read moretired and the tire needed to be replaced. 1. The Good - Cook said the nail didn't fully puncture the tire and it didn't need to be replaced. So I appreciate the honesty for this part. 2. The Bad - Replacement of the front brakes. After a few months the brakes were still squeaking and I called to mention this and they said to drive the car longer and it will stop. A year later and they still squeak. I took the car to a mechanic for in inspection and was told that Cook used Oreilly brakes and did not use OEM BWM brakes. Cook did not offer it as an option. It is a 2022 BMW and the brakes the used are unsatisfactory. Had I known they would not use original parts or offer it, I would have had this service done elsewhere. I should have went to a BMW specialized mechanic.

His price for the tire sensors was the same cost as the Costco Tire Center, which unfortunately didn't carry tire sensors for a Malibu, & originally recommended 20 new lug nuts. Greg had his mechanic install the new lug nuts that I already had, at no additional cost. The facility has limited areas to wait, but there is a nearby coffee shop within a short walking distance. Greg was personable, smart, a great listener, efficient, professional, & made recommendations to save me money on future car repairs. Greg has earned my trust. West Coast Tires does all types of car work (example: oil changes, etc.), except for body work. I am grateful for Greg's honesty, & will return.

Then, while they were opening my air filter housing to replace the air filter, they busted it.( check the pictures. ). Then at the very same time they yanked on the air manifold hose that's connected to it so hard that it ripped open! At first, they lied right to my face and said that they did not do it and that they never even opened my air filter housing even though I paid them to change the air filter. So I called corporate in front of the manager at the Valvoline and told them that I had paid for an oil change and an air filter change, and this manager just told me that they never even opened up my air filter housing to change it but they took my money anyway. Once I had corporate on the phone, the manager at Valvoline admitted that they had damaged both components of the air filter-housing, and the hose. Corporate said all that they could do is refund the $50 for the air filter and then offered me two free oil changes. But I'm still left with having to repair the $800 worth of damage that they caused. I'll never go to another Valvoline again.EVER!!!! - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! LIARS/ THIEVES/ POOR MECHANICS/ TERRIBLE CORPORATE STRUCTURE. IF I COULD GIVE VALVOLINE ZERO STARS I WOULD.

I was able to make the trip but once I hit a LA every time I hit the break a scraping noise would happen. i came in about a tire and explain what was going on with the break. Andy gave me the bad news easy that the front left brake caliper had become dislodged because a bracket bolt was missing, which was causing the abnormal noise. Well i'm not very knowledgeable about cars, so it meant a lot that he showed me what was happening and walked me through the repairs. He literally made a drawing for me as I'm a visual learner. The whole experience could have been really stressful, but Andy was patient, transparent, and made me feel like my car was in good hands. I'm really thankful they caught the issue when they did. This is a father-and-son-owned shop, and you can tell they take pride in doing things the right way. The photos I've posted show the old exhaust parts that were cut and removed, the replacement components, and the finished install underneath the vehicle. Everything was fitted cleanly and solidly--no shortcuts, no sloppy work. They replaced my muffler and repaired the damaged section from the theft in just a little over an hour, which honestly exceeded my expectations. The car sounds right, drives smoothly, and feels properly repaired--not patched together. What I appreciated most was their honesty and efficiency. They explained what needed to be done, got straight to work, and delivered exactly what they promised. In a time when catalytic converter theft is unfortunately common, it's a relief to find a shop you can trust. If you're dealing with exhaust damage or catalytic theft, I highly recommend Izzy Mufflers and Brakes. Solid workmanship, fair pricing, and genuinely good people.

I took it in to a place AAA recommended in downtown LA and explain the issue. They told me I needed a new timing chain along with a whole bunch of other stuff and quotes me $4800 for it. This was preceded with a lot of scare tactics on what will happen if I don't have the work done, which came across as very used car salesman-ish. When I ran the quote through ChatGPT I was told they were charging me dealership pricing for an independent mechanic for that type of work in LA. So I brought the truck here to Speedway where I had Minor worked done before and had a good experience. They told me my bearings need to be replaced and did the work for lesson than a quarter of the price I was quoted at the other mechanic. Work was finished in a day and the truck has been running perfectly since then. Had I spent to 4800 at the place it wouldn't have even resolved the issue, which means I would've had to come out of the pocket even more after the initial work was done. Obviously a truck of this age is gonna have some problems and when they inevitably happen again I will be back here at Speedway to take care of them. Highly recommend this place for integrity, quality, efficiency and fair pricing.

Fred helped me out - he was very friendly and non-intimidating (great for a gal going to an auto shop by herself!) He explained that Tesla tires have some foam, so patching the tire for the nail he found would be $50. It was nice he took the time to explain why it was a certain cost, def appreciated. They have a really nice waiting area with seating + strong AC (it was a hot summer day in LA), I was really impressed. The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. I'll update this review once I get the car in for my first visit. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

Overall it was a bust and repairing it wasn't worth it but I appreciated the honesty and thorough evaluation. The garage itself has access through the alley, street entrance is pretty busy. We communicated via text and phone but during drop off and pick up the main guy wasn't around. He shares the garage with someone else and that person helped us when the main guy wasn't there (sorry I can't remember his name). Overall a good experience despite the fact that my car is officially dead!

I've know Johnny and his shop since it opened way back in the 80's...OMG...the cars this man has taken care of for me for so long!!!...there really has never been another thought as to where I would take my cars over the years...and NONE of my cars have been what the man specializes in!! He just takes whatever I buy and when it needs regular maintenance or anything else I've come up for him to repair...he just does it! If it means getting a manual or part list for ANY car...he just goes out and gets it!...and the results are ALWAYS done correctly the FIRST time! There have been many times I needed a car to use while it was being serviced and he provided that as well!! I dont know right now if he still provides a car for customers as things have changed in liability an all for that service, but he certainty will pick up the car and deliver it, if that's what you need or at the very least, a ride to wherever you need to go, AND pick you up when its ready! Johnny, as a man, is one of the most congenial, confident, no pressure business owners I have ever met...you always feel comfortable with him around and that belief and certainty in his shop's work starts with his no nonsense approach to almost everything he does. You need not look any further for an honest, fair, reasonably priced, "get it done" high quailty, HIGH-END auto-repair shop! (the cars he has chosen to maintain for his many customers are certainly not your "run-of-the-mill" just change the oil types for sure!!) .. Read no further...just call him and all those damn worries we all have toward where to take your car when it needs fixin' will no longer be an issue. It's so nice to not worry about that...! I had them change my Porsche Oil, and I lost the tag, I called they said they don't know. They had a computer crash and cannot help me how many miles car had when they change it. A year earlier I had them change the front break, and it affected my handbrake and start to act funny, i had to pull it much higher to be effective and if i miss one last click it didn't stop the car. I didn't work as good as before. johnny said "its okay that how it should be'. They did not took care of that neither. The only good thing about these guys is the flipper machine in waiting room. I wasn't happy with their both services on my ca, also non of them are customer friendly they have chips on their shoulders. Reason, they don't have good after service, once they get paid, you have to pretty much deal with the situation. Obviously as business they should at least backup their data or have paper invoice to track and help customer. Solved or adjust the handbrake. When i call to complain to Johnny that "you are losing a customer, i have also a roof to fix." He replied, "I'm not interested to have you as customer!" So two bad experiences for me is good enough to not return there! Worse part neither johnny nor his partner were sounded apologetic about losing data, or the handbrake side effect after they change the car break. Or all they are not professional, for three reasons, 1- not saving customer repair track record. 2- fix one part damage another part and wont repair and assume their wrong doing. 3- hostile attitude of "take your car elsewhere next time' read more

Just got an oil change on my 2011 E Class today, I have been so hesitant to get any work done on my car since I just moved to LA recently. These guys put all my worries to rest, this is now the only place I will go for work on either of my mercs. Couldn't ask for a more honest group of guys. Instead of trying to push me into getting more unneeded services they did the opposite, Not only did I need an oil change but they found a hose that was split off it's connecting port, a missing rubber seal on my engine cover and a couple other little things that needed fixing. Once again instead of telling me I need a new hose or I need to take a bunch of stuff apart to get to the blah blah and tinker with the blah blah the mechanic that was working on my car first showed me what was wrong, asked me what I wanted to do, then the mechanic showed me some really cool easy fixes for all these little issues. I won't give anything away but trust me when I tell you, THESE GUYS ARE NOT TRYING TO ROB YOU THEY ARE GREAT GUYS who are very cleaver with quick fixes. If you have a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Ferrari etc. and need a shop or feel like your current shop isn't honest with you, take your car to SUPERFORMANCE you will not regret it. read more

I could not say better things about an auto shop. I love Superformance! The crew offers great customer service and reassurance that your car and you will be taken care of in no time at all. My car always comes in and out of the shop within the same day. Johnny knows a tremendous amount of informtion about alomost any car. They specialize in forign cars such as Mercedes and BMW at superformance, but Johnny knows about all types of vehicles. I own a Honda Civic- Hybrid and Johnny always handles the issues with my vehicle. Johnny will not only fix your car, but he will make sure that you have a car to get to-and-from work the day that your car is out as well. I have taken my car to a few places in the South Bay area and nothing compares. I will continue to bring all of the cars that I own in the future to Superformce(that's a few cars, because I'm young!) It's pretty difficult to find an honest mechanic - but I believe I found one here in LA. Tom is wonderful-he saved me a load of money on my 328i coupe - he referred me to BMW dealer noting that my problem is covered under the emission warranty (BMW does not readily offer this information). He also hooked me up with one of his service associates there at BMW and assured me that I will be taken good care of. I'm estactic to have found a mechanic that I can trust since I no longer have warranty on my car and BMWs can get quite expensive to maintain. This place does not try to push unnecessary repairs on you - they will charge you for labor but ONLY for what you need and the customer service afterwards is subperb. Brought my Subaru into Superformance for a 40K inspection and was very satisfied with their work. I met Tom who took the time to explain all maintenance procedures being conducted on my car and jotted down my list of items for inspection. Once the work was completed, Tom went through each item that was performed in addition to road testing my vehicle before I paid for the services. All my concerns were checked and either repaired or didn't need servicing. My car runs great again after the service. Couldn't have asked for better service. I'm always nervous about going to a mechanic and getting pushed into fixing things that may not have needed fixing, but this shop is super trustworthy. The guys working here, especially Justin, are honest and attentive. They called me regularly to keep me updated on things and even checked in a few days after the repairs to make sure everything was ok. They even had one of their team members come pick up and drop off my car to get fixed when I didn't have time to drop by their shop. Johnny is very straight forward and honest. Shows you exactly what repairs need to be done and the cost for each. I took my 2008 BMW 328i here after taking it to BMW Santa Monica, where they tried to over charge me by almost $2k. Johnny did the job for less than half of what BMW was charging me and provided better service and definitely a better job! Thomas was great and straightforward about the repairs and the cost....and the customer service was excellent. Basically, everything the BMW dealership is not. This place was a life saver for me! My BMW car battery was slowly dying, and after taking it to the BMW dealership in Santa Monica, they wanted to charge me over $600. Johnny and his team repaired my battery instantly and didn't allow me to drive it off the lot until he approved everything. I've been going to Jonny and Tom for years now and these guys are good at what they do and don't look for ways to get you to spend more money. Only what is necessary. They're good at trouble shooting the little stuff and are kind, considerate and have always been there for me. They've worked on my many Beemers and Audi's. I can't recommend this place enough! I needed a last-minute battery replacement for my Mazda CX-5, and they were so flexible, telling me to just swing by when I had the chance. I went there for the first time as the coolant level was low in my BMW. They noticed coolant at the bottom engine area. They pressure tested the system and noticed a crack in the radiator. They replaced the radiator the same day and I was on my way. They were very easy to deal with and called me to communicate the status of my car during every step of the process. I trust him, he's honest and being a woman who knows nothing about cars he's made my BMW experience a real pleasure. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! They really know there stuff. They take their time to explain everything so you get smarter about your car! My waterpump was replaced, and despite the receipt showing it was an Audi part, it was actually a shi tty aftermarket part. Now I'm having to pay to replace it again with a genuine Audi part. Additionally, the alleged that they replaced the oil pan gasket and it either wasn't done correctly. Or they used the wrong type of sealant because that also needs to be replaced. Avoid coming here.

They were able to carefully bend them back into position and Josh told me that's what he would have done on his own vehicle. He is knowledgeable, straightforward, and isn't interested in selling repairs that aren't actually needed. You hear stories all the time about repair shops taking advantage of customers and my experience with Haus was the exact opposite. I can't tell you how relieved I was after getting that phone call. All quoted part and labor prices were very fair, and I was also impressed by the generous warranty period their offer on their work. I'm overall very pleased and am planning on coming back for jobs I don't want to do myself.

I had been a returning customer. Unfortunately, I totally lost me trust in them, and I will never…read morego back. When I picked up my car, I immediately noticed damage to the front paint. About two minutes later, my tire pressure warning light also came on. To be completely fair, I fully agreed that they should not simply rely on my word regarding the paint damage. They told me they needed to review their security footage and the photos/videos taken before they started working on my vehicle. I respected that process because businesses should verify the facts before accepting responsibility. More than 24 hours later, Fernando called and told me the damage had already been there when I arrived. I then politely asked if they could send me the footage they relied on to reach that conclusion. His answer was simply, "No." That is where they completely lost my trust. If my statement alone is not enough for them and they need video evidence before making a decision, then it is only fair that I be allowed to see the same evidence they are using to deny my claim. Instead, I was expected to simply trust their word while they refused to provide the footage they claimed supported their position. I find that lack of transparency extremely concerning. Whether the damage was there beforehand or not is almost beside the point. Refusing to share the very evidence you rely on while expecting the customer to accept your conclusion without question does not inspire confidence--it undermines it. Trust is earned through transparency, and it goes both ways. A business cannot say, "We don't trust your word, so we need evidence," while at the same time refusing to show that evidence and expecting the customer to blindly trust theirs. "That's how we work" is not an acceptable explanation. Because of this experience, I will never return. I cannot recommend a business that expects transparency from its customers while refusing to practice it themselves.
