The atmosphere in this bar is always great. The staff is really nice. The food is actually fantastic. The only critique I have is the cheese curds are named nuggets and the beer selection could be a bit better. But none of these things will deter me from going.

Ok it's been a while since my last review and confession. I like this place. They have check in specials from Foursquare and Belly. and Yelp. It's small, local, with great happy hour and people here are friendly. They have a Jukebox. a great selection of beers and Bartenders are quick on the spot. Two dart boards near the back door. And Pizza is made to order and some of the best I've had in Milwaukee. F 5 A 4 S 4 L 3 V 4 43/ 2014

We absolutely love Colonel Hart's. The service is great, the space is always clean and they have super bar food. They have off-street parking which is a hot commodity in the village, and a nice fenced outdoor patio. They love pups so I always feel comfortable bringing Porkchop to hang out with us outside. Their burgers are awesome - and they have a ton of options for toppings. They have several side choices, and specials every day. Seriously, every weekend all weekend you can get half-priced pizzas! If you're looking for great food and a quieter vibe, slide on down the street and sidle up at this bar - you won't regret it!

Decided to check this place out based on a few reviews stating it's 'some of the best pizza in Milwaukee.' Based on the street-front, it actually looks like a pretty nice place. On the inside, however, you get a pretty standard dive bar appeal. Nothing against it, if that's your cup of tea. We came on a Friday and decided to split a pizza and fish fry. The pizza is basically the same as a Tombstone pizza that you could get in the frozen aisle at your local grocer. Pretty darn average. Beer selection was average as well. Average prices. Pretty much everything about the place is average with one key exception, the fish fry. We got the perch and it was pretty darn good. The fries were over salted and thus fall under the aforementioned umbrella of 'average.' But the perch, the perch saved this place from a two star. All in all, I won't return but if you live near the place and like dive bars with average bar food this may be your spot. Also pretty heavy on 80s soft rock, if you're into that. Pizzas are half price on weekends which should put them at about the same price as they are frozen at Pick N Save.

    Cheers!

Cold beers. Good music. The dive bar of Wauwatosa. Enjoy folks - this place is a gem.

I haven't been in for a while, but our most recent visit just hit the mark. My husband and I stopped in on Thanksgiving night for a quick bite and the Packer game. Being a holiday, the crowd was small, but they were serving food, so we were very happy. We ordered the 1/2 nachos for $5.00. The half order is huge and the only size you should order unless you are feeding the entire softball team, I mean it, no joke. For bar nachos, they are great....ground beef taco meat, neon yellow cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, salsa, and sour cream piled mile high. The burgers are also basic but yummy. The bacon cheeseburger with fries is cheap at $6.75. Come for the specials too, especially half price apps on Wednesdays. All in all, a fun time was had by all. They also have Buzztime Trivia, if you like to play, which I do.

Love this bar. The atmosphere is low key and easy going, the way I like it. Service is normally great. Prices are even better

I came here to watch a game with some friends on a snowy night. It was pretty quiet when we got there around 5 but picked up as the night went on The decor...first thing in noticed is there isn't too much sports memorabilia on the walls. People have commented on that and I'm torn..the walls do look a little bare but overall its a nice clean look that eliminates that kind of junky look sports bars some times take on. TVs..lots of them! Its easy to watch a game here and the high top tables and chairs were very comfy...bar seats looked similar. We got appetizers to share at the table..fried pickles (whole picke spears!), quesadillas, and wings. The wings came eith with both blue cheese and ranch that were very good and lots of carrots and celery. All the apps were decent but wings were my favorite. They had a happy hour special (I think $2 off most drinks?) They had a decent amount of NA drinks and I had an athletic IPA and Heineken 0. Our server was the nicest girl and she got us our food super quick and accommodated all our requests. Another great perk is the parking lot in the back! North Ave can be busy for parking alot of times Final result - im a fan! Great game watching spot in east Tosa.

I asked what time the kitchen closed--got a flat "10" from the bartender. It was almost 11, so fine. Then I asked about their Bloody Mary mix. Instead of a simple answer, he launched into some condescending monologue about how they make their own, but only for the daytime crowd--when people "actually drink Bloodies." Cool, thanks for the attitude. It was clear pretty fast that this guy had no interest in being remotely welcoming. I pivoted and ordered the Lambeau Leap Mule. Turns out they were out of melon liqueur--whatever, it happens--but instead of offering literally any substitute (ever heard of schnapps?), he just dropped the other ingredients on the bar and walked away. No comment. No effort. Then, because this trainwreck wasn't done, he got into a heated scheduling argument with his younger coworker right in front of us. Completely unprofessional and incredibly awkward. I mentioned we might leave, and he scoffed. Like we were the problem. Round Two, better than the first but still mediocre at best. I am relatively certain this was a different person but the vibes were the same, think hipstery gatekeeping bartender meets bare minimum effort. Unsure if I will try again.

I should have listened to them because I went with more of a lunch/dinner type item and it wasn't made the way I asked for it. Thankfully the second time was the charm and my bananas foster milkshake was quite good and definitely something I would recommend. A member of staff had their little one hanging around, and while I don't normally care about that, when they wandered outside and were playing a bit closer to the street than I was comfortable with, I knew it was time to go. The outdoor seating is directly on the sidewalk, so if that is not your jam, look to sit inside instead, though this did not bother me at all.
