We have never been and live nearby so we thought we'd give it a shot. We came for the food, didn't really look at the menu beforehand. Walk-in, it's what you'd expect. Typical Wisconsin dive bar. What can I say? It's loud, full of regulars. We found 2 spots at the bar, grabbed our seats and were greeted immediately. Got our drinks and got some menus. I ordered a steak sandwich, my boyfriend ordered a burger. I will say the steak sandwich was disappointing, but 100% what I expected when I saw the set up and the prep. It was bland, underwhelming, bread was soggy, cheese wasn't melted, mushrooms were still fridge cold. My boyfriend didn't have much to say about his burger other than it's what he expected from a place like that. We won't be back for the food, but our bartender did pay us plenty attention (contrary to other reviews). Although the food was trash, not her fault, I tipped her well for her service as she was kind and welcoming. we will be back for drinks. read more

The only reason I'm giving five stars is because I called about the Friday fish fry for lunch and I was told it starts at 3pm so my noon lunch was out for here. As I hung up the phone I thought did I just hear a bunch of people in the back ground so I called back and I asked if I can sit down for a beer and the woman said you can sit down for a beer so I went over. This has been my first beer in two months because all the bars were closed so it was nice to finally sit at the bar and have a cold draft. They have a few taps with domestic beers and some craft beers so I ordered the Alaskan amber and I got back $7 from a ten spot so $3 is not bad at all. The bar tender was super friendly and informed me that the kitchen doesn't open until 3pm for the fish fry but I can order pizzas until then. The place has plenty of parking, more cars than people which was odd. The place has a few outdoor tables around the building. The inside has plenty of wood all over with a small bar and tables in the rest of the space with flat screens. The place is not fancy but it's not a dive by any means so it's a decent little sports bar. I wasn't planning on going out for a beer today but it was nice to finally get out and socialize with people again in a relaxed atmosphere with a beer. read more

For a small bar the food was good our waiter was attentive and welcoming. Husband had fish fry with potato pancakes and I had baked fish. I'm gluten-free and had side salad instead of French fries. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fresh ingredients in the salad . Definitely going to come back and try the pizza! read more

Hands down one of the best pizzas I have ever consumed. The other one is located in Argentina so this one is definitely closer to home! Seriously, you are missing out if you have never tried the pizza here. Recommend cheese (duh), sausage, mushrooms and onions. I am reviewing the Varsity Club as it relates to the food as that is why I was there. Service was fine. It appears that this place is more pub than grill. We went there for lunch, clearly this place is more pub than grill as every seat at the bar was filled with an old man day drinking. We ordered lunch. Lunch was seemingly pulled out of the frozen foods section, fried and served. There was nothing special. If you are looking for food, this is NOT a food destination, it's a bar. Now, I did not try their pizza which they claim to be the best in New Berlin, but I imagine it's not a high bar. read more

Stopped in from a long road trip with the kids. Not really a place for kids. ..really a great neighborhood bar. However, they were friendly and food was great. Fries are hot, crisp and awesome. Chicken strips are fab. Nice pieces of chicken, fresh. Hubby and I ordered burgers medium ...they were more like rare. Delish...still would have liked it cooked just a hair more. This place treats you like garbage unless you're over the age of 50 and you have at least a $100+ tab at their bar. Horrible service, and we were overcharged for our meal by $20. When asked if they could fix it, we had to call twice because the person who answered the phone "didn't know anything" about their "money policies"....what? We had to file a dispute with the bank to get our money back because it had been 2 weeks since we spoke to the manager and we hadn't been compensated for yet. My husband and I stopped in here, along with a friend, for some drinks on a Friday night. This was my first time coming here, and I was pleased with the experience. The bartenders were very nice, and made sure that we weren't without drinks during our visit. The prices for the drinks were reasonable. I thought that the volume on the music could have been just a little lower. However, I still enjoyed the atmosphere. It was refreshing to go someplace that wasn't filled with the barely 21 crowd. There were people in our age group (mid 30's) and a little bit older there. The bar has lots of woodwork on the inside, including the actual bar itself, which is made completely out of wood. Had we not already eaten, I would have tried their fish fry. I guess that just means that I will have to make a return trip in the future :-) read more

Quite possibly the worst bar experience in the Milwaukee area. If you're not a regular, don't bother coming in. The bartenders don't pay attention to you, the food is downright terrifying, and they let the local country boys have the jukebox remote. This is my husband and my favorite neighborhood go to for a beer and a bite. We are always greeted right away which I appreciate very much. Our visits are infrequent but the service has always been friendly and we are served in timely manner. Their pizza and burgers are excellent, so much so that my husband who is an excellent cook himself has made a point to tip the cook. A wonderful, cozy friendly neighborhood tavern. read more

I regularly frequent this establishment as it is convenient to my home, has good food and is a great place to meet people. I have found the staff to be friendly and competent, except when the bartender is also waiting tables. I realize that servers are hard to come by so I can overlook some of these shortcomings. I am writing today as I have come across a gem of a sandwich. While it is not always available, and when it is, they go fast, the Rueben Sandwich is something I will always come back for. Along with a healthy portion of corned beef, the sauer kraut they make is awesome. A mix of kraut, soy, onions carmelized adds a tremendous taste sensation. We stopped in for wings and beer last night. A pitcher of Spotted Cow was $10 and wings were $0.50 a piece. Not the cheapest in either category, but not bad either. They offer about 10 difference wing flavors, and they let you do as many different sauces per order as you would like. We tried the bourbon, chipotle, mango habenero, and Won Way flavors. All were good, but my favorite was Chipotle. I will say that if its called Mango Habenero, it should be much hotter. My brother and I ordered a total of 30, which sounded like a lot, but they were pretty small. We were able to finish then no problem. I have eaten here in the past, and the burgers and pizza are outstanding. It is not necessarily a destination for wings, but they were pretty good. The people working here are friendly, and it is a nice neighborhood bar to visit. read more

Top 5 pizza I have ever had for a local business!!!! I was in the area killing time waiting to pick up some tickets. Been here before and had the pizza. It was an alcohol induced night so I'm sure it was an "omg this food is so delicious because I'm drunk" night. Decided to stop here for a lunch beer and pizza. April the bartender was epic. I ordered their large sausage pepperoni and mushroom. This pizza was unreal. I asked for a little extra bake and it came out epic. When in the area I will got there anytime for pizza. And even sometimes when I'm not in the area I will make a special plan with friends to go there. I turned this pizza into a three day meal. Even delicious grilled up. read more

Probably a nice little local bar during the day, but at night, the worst of it comes out, and they don't handle the situations professionally. Completely drunk out of their minds customers think they're allowed to ride their motorcycles when they fall immediately after getting on the bike. They then proceed to race off into the street, losing control of the vehicle, and skidding into the intersection. Management doesn't call the police to prevent this kind of behavior and also the fight, yelling, and screaming. 1:30 in the morning, and management decided it's ok for hooligans to disturb the residential area's peace. They should at least have towed that kid's bike so he doesn't make that kind of mistake again. Just do the right thing, call the police, and get it settled in an orderly manner. Or, just take the kid's keys. Don't disturb the public to that extent. read more

Went for lunch which was good on April 30. Had good food and great service from young lady. Had 2 beers also and after 1:30 she left and some guy took over and he cleared our glasses and he was annoyed when we said we did not want any more. Me and my 2 friends sat and talked for 20 more minutes at our table, the only one occupied. All others empty. When we left he sniped "Oh, leaving already?
