Leg Lamp from Christmas Story!
Tera B.

Moved to Milwaukee about a month and a half ago. Starting to go out more and go on more bar and restaurant adventures. Last night my brother and I landed here looking for a local watering hole; this place looked like a total vibe from the outside and let me tell you we were not disappointed! Sooooo kewl! Christmas story is one of my forever favorite movies, and there is even the leg lamp from the movie at this bar!! It's the type of place you would love to sit by the window with the snow coming down creating a really cozy atmosphere. I'm looking forward to going back

mistletoe (Santa Claw)

I've been to Camp a few times before but this was my first time going during the holiday season. Their holiday bar Santa Camp is very festive. Fun lights and decor all over. It is busy! We arrived just after 8:30 pm and it was a full house, we did manage to snag a table but it was the only one available. They have a fun special menu we ordered the Mistletoe (Santa Claw), Angry Elf, and Rudolph's Tipsy Spritzer as well as the mystery Secret Santa shot which was really good. They do have food on the menu as well we just were there to grab a drink. There are servers that make there way around but you can also try ordering directly from the bar but they do come around a few times even with how busy it is to check in.

Non alcoholic items on menu

The qualifier to this review is that I don't drink but I found myself in a bar for a Yelp Elite event that did not happen. So I figured I would check it out. The decor is campy. I mean like a camp deep in the woods. Many taxidermy animals throughout. Pop music plays at a volume that is actually good for conversation. A couple of large screens show the game of the day. The service is fast - I observed. There is a non alcoholic menu with favs like Old fashioned and Moscow Mule. Now If I am gonna go to a place that doesn't have any prices on the menu, then I am going for leisure and to have fun with friends. It looks like a good spot to bring folks who like a quirkly bar experience and where folks can kick back and socialize. I am looking forward to coming back when the outside is open!

What a fun bar! Right now, Camp is decorated for the holidays with lights everywhere, which adds to the already cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The bartenders were very friendly and had some great drink recommendations since we're in from out of town. Their cider on tap had just rotated in and was sweet and crisp, and my husband ordered the Merry Margarita as a seasonal drink. We didn't order anything to eat, but their menu has some good bar snacks to much on if you're wanting to grab a bite as well. I wish we had something like this back home! I'd definitely visit again.

Happy I tried it out. Been meaning to go for a while. Frustrating that they don't post pricing anywhere, even the menus. Got a ballpark estimate for the beer and pizza which wasn't the same as my check so just not my cup of tea. Allegedly there is a happy hour with $1 off local microbrews. Plus side, there's popcorn and some ample seating. Cool decor and comfortable vibe. Big screens if you're in the area for a game.

Mozzarella sticks

Stopped at Camp Bar Tosa for a drink and had a good time! The holiday drinks were great and very festive. I had the "naughtier spice" which was great and my partner had the "White Christmas" which was also tasty and very strong. The atmosphere is great especially because it is decked out in Christmas decorations. We also ordered mozzarella sticks, which were okay. We will definitely be going back to this Camp Bar location again!

I always like to stop here during the holiday and this year didn't disappoint. There are so many lights and decorations it gets you in the Christmas spirit almost right away. The drinks this year weren't as good as previous years but they were still enjoyable, especially the Santa panties shots we did. We also ordered some apps which were just ok, hoping they add some new things this coming year. We went Christmas Day and there was only one bartender and she did a great job making sure everyone had everything they needed!

Music was on point and the service slapped -- the bartenders were so attentive, kind, and proactive. 10/10

I think this place is now called the waddle inn? I'm reviewing it here though since that's where…read moremost of the activity is... I came here to watch a game with some friends on a snowy night. It was pretty quiet when we got there around 5 but picked up as the night went on The decor...first thing in noticed is there isn't too much sports memorabilia on the walls. People have commented on that and I'm torn..the walls do look a little bare but overall its a nice clean look that eliminates that kind of junky look sports bars some times take on. TVs..lots of them! Its easy to watch a game here and the high top tables and chairs were very comfy...bar seats looked similar. We got appetizers to share at the table..fried pickles (whole picke spears!), quesadillas, and wings. The wings came eith with both blue cheese and ranch that were very good and lots of carrots and celery. All the apps were decent but wings were my favorite. They had a happy hour special (I think $2 off most drinks?) They had a decent amount of NA drinks and I had an athletic IPA and Heineken 0. Our server was the nicest girl and she got us our food super quick and accommodated all our requests. Another great perk is the parking lot in the back! North Ave can be busy for parking alot of times Final result - im a fan! Great game watching spot in east Tosa.

Second time is not a charm…read more Round one Popped into Growlers late with my sister after a late flight while visiting. It's close to my second home, and I wanted to check it out. I asked what time the kitchen closed--got a flat "10" from the bartender. It was almost 11, so fine. Then I asked about their Bloody Mary mix. Instead of a simple answer, he launched into some condescending monologue about how they make their own, but only for the daytime crowd--when people "actually drink Bloodies." Cool, thanks for the attitude. It was clear pretty fast that this guy had no interest in being remotely welcoming. I pivoted and ordered the Lambeau Leap Mule. Turns out they were out of melon liqueur--whatever, it happens--but instead of offering literally any substitute (ever heard of schnapps?), he just dropped the other ingredients on the bar and walked away. No comment. No effort. Then, because this trainwreck wasn't done, he got into a heated scheduling argument with his younger coworker right in front of us. Completely unprofessional and incredibly awkward. I mentioned we might leave, and he scoffed. Like we were the problem. Round Two, better than the first but still mediocre at best. I am relatively certain this was a different person but the vibes were the same, think hipstery gatekeeping bartender meets bare minimum effort. Unsure if I will try again.

Very hometown bar vibe. We must've come around happy hour because we had a bit taken off the bill for our 2 beers. More exciting when you don't expect it! We took the shuttle down and it's free with a drink purchase inside. Our driver was great and you could tell that they were trying to hustle at the end of the night even though they were plagued with post game traffic. It helps that they have a few shuttles going. Can't wait to come back and try the fish fry - it smelled amazing!

It's fun, delicious, and varied. They have the best fish fry in this area of town. Beer battered, piping hot, served with creamy coleslaw and fries--it's dreamy and delicious. I also love their blackened salmon salad. In the warmer months they have some outdoor sidewalk patio seating that is lovely. In the cooler months they have plenty of seating indoors. Good people, good food, good beer. What's not to love? Get to it.

Used to love this place like crazy…read more. Today, the bartender let us know we could sit wherever we'd like, and then we waited 5 minutes. Not a big deal, 5 minutes is good. She returned to our table to take our drink orders, and then we waited 10 more minutes for our actual server to take our order. I don't fault the bartender, she was great. The menu is not nearly as good as the old menu. A lot of the old corn beef specialty plates like the McRoberts Plaid are long gone, and my corned beef hash plate had no sides included (said so right in the menu), so when I looked for a list of their side items on the menu, there was no "sides" section, so I asked for some bacon. The server didn't know how to ring in a side of bacon. Wha? That's gotta be easy, no? My wife got the Reuben sandwich and chips. For the price, we thought we'd get some high quality, possibly house-made chips..what did we get? Ruffles. Meh. Waited about 15 minutes for our food (not bad), but because we waited so long for her to take our order, we both ran out of beverages halfway thru our meals. Had to wave our server down because she just never returned to ask us if we needed anything else. I know waving down a server to some seems rude, but I was desperate for a refill on an empty glass that was empty for many minutes. After the meal was over, our server didn't return again, so I again had to wave her down to get the check. She didn't return for us to pay the check, so another bartender eventually came over to finish the transaction. Total time spent getting breakfast at noon at a half filled McBobs was an hour and ten minutes. That's kind of a long time for breakfast for 2. At least they don't out the mandatory tip on anymore. Owners: Look at the old McBobs menus and consider reintroducing some of the classic breakfast items. This was not nearly as good as the old menu. And please, if you're short staffed, step in. Thanks!
