My tailoring needs have ranged from altering hemlines and seams on pants to an overall resizing of an expensive perforated leather jacket. I was told up front when one part of a requested repair on a pants pocket would appear differently from original and then I didn't notice it when it was done. I also needed crinoline added underneath which I wanted sewn into the dress. I went for an initial fitting, and then two more until the dress fit just right, and picked it up on the fourth visit. I recommend going for alterations 2.5-3 months before your wedding day, and having your wedding shoes and any undergarments with you, which Elena was very nice to remind me on the phone. Her prices might be a little bit on the higher side, but her work is worth it especially if you have a complicated dress like mine. I really like how Elena Bridal is right below La Reine, which made it very easy and efficient.

She was rude to the customer before me, then snapped at a young boy who came in to pick up an item for his mother, telling him she had "lost it" and to come back another time. When it was my turn, I put on my dress and she immediately refused to listen to me and my family about how the dress needed to be put on in order to be buttoned. She insisted she knew best, so we followed her instructions. When she couldn't get it buttoned, she looked at me and said word for word: "you must have gained 20 pounds since you last tried on this dress. I can't do anything to it. Your only option is to get a new dress or a bigger size." I cannot even describe the emotional turmoil that caused me. With only four months before my wedding, I panicked and purchased a bigger size dress. When it arrived, she then told me it was too big and refused to do any alterations on it to make it smaller. I won't go into the further weight related insults she said to me, because they are still extremely triggering, but I will say this: no one deserves to be body shamed ever and especially not while preparing for a wedding. This experience was one of the lowest points in my planning process. Thankfully, I found a wonderful seamstress in Wayland 2 weeks before my wedding, who treated me with kindness, made the dress fit perfectly, and gave me back the confidence I had lost. Please, if you are considering going here, do your research and look at the negative reviews she already has. I truly wish I had. I've haven't had a lot of luck in finding a good dry cleaner around me. I took four pieces of…read moreclothing to be cleaned/hemmed but in the process, they lost my favorite sweater (and just from an eyeball of their other reviews, this doesn't seem to be a one-off occurrence). The owner, Lida, said she'd follow up and give me a call to see what happened but never did. I paid for the sweater they lost and don't feel like getting into an extended back and forth with them but I wouldn't recommend them if you want to get all your clothes back. The pieces that came back cleaned also didn't look like they had been cleaned thoroughly. One of them was a pair of pants that was covered with lint and loose threads. The other was a winter puffer coat that had bits of fuzz still stuck to the velcro parts.
