I politely said hi as she picked up the phone, no response even after she hung up from her phone call. I inquired about if they were organic bc there is a sign that says hormone free etc, she just blandly said no bc they give their cows grain, and that was the end of that. They have good products but it's hard to support local farms when the people working there seem to not give a shit about the people walking in the door. Number one rule of sales: sell the company, sell yourself, sell the product. She didn't do any of these things. The eggnog is pretty good, really thick, I like it. But they could work on their enthusiasm for their customers, and customer service hell even a smile would have been nice.

I really felt that was a very good value Because it's directly from the farmer. They had a lot of good deals today. They are fresh local meats and cheeses pies from humble pie company and waffle. They also had ice cream from like five different companies. This was a lot of fun so glad I bought the ticket. It was only $10 and well worth the price. My intentions had to take my grandkids up here so they can see the cows and stuff and they can get ice cream a different day.

I called back from the parking lot, placed my order, and they brought it out and put it in my car. I'm sure if it was a busy time this may have taken longer. They had a stand with a money box and you took your apples and put your money in the box. Unfortunately, I only stopped once because the apples were very soft and we ended up throwing them away. The new owners have done a lovely job with the orchard and have classes there as well as summer concerts. They have a cute gift shop with seasonal fruit, meat and handmade gifts from local artisans. I can't quote you on all the prices accurately, but if you know your fruits and veggies the way I do, you'll notice that the prices are generally 20-50% lower than other stores. Also - FRESH dates. We stumbled upon Charlton Orchards. We went into the store and each paid for a bushel of apples. Then we headed out past the farm and ventured into rows and rows of apple bushes to start picking. For me being a Floridian, I found this to be a lot of fun! It was a perfect September fall day and just walking around the farm, looking for the best looking apples, was a great change of pace. We spent about an hour roaming around and filling up our baskets. We even walked past a herd of friendly cows and offered them some of our fruit, which they happily accepted! Before leaving we bought some homemade apple cider for the road, which was absolutely fresh and delicious. For me being sort of a fish out of water visiting the New England area, I genuinely enjoyed my time at Charlton Orchards. Soaking up the quaint and quiet atmosphere of farmland was just what I needed to complete my Massachusetts getaway!
