My boyfriend had this arrangement delivered to my office through Colony Florist for Valentine's day. The flowers were fresh and super beautiful. A week later I still have them displayed. I do think my boyfriend was upselled because he asked for an arrangement and the sales person said it was too small and convinced him to get a bigger one (which i'm not complaining about) but this is a very large arrangement and I would've been happy with a smaller one as well. My husband bought these tulips from Colony Florist on Tuesday February 13th for Valentine's Day and this photo is what they looked like by Thursday, February 15th. In addition to selling my husband half-dead tulips, they charged an obscene price for them. Taking the tulips as they were on the day this photo was taken, I went to Colony Florist and asked to speak with the person who sold my husband the tulips. After first listening to the employee insisting there was "no way to know," I reminded that they could look up the proof of his purchase by the credit card number, which Alma, the person representing presumably the person who either sold him the flowers or knew who did, finally agreed to do. I then asked whether this was typical of their quality, to which she responded that it was not, offering me "tulips from the back" to replace them. I asked rather that the cost be refunded to my husband's card.Alma stated that the owner, Susan, was the only person who could authorize this and took my information, stating that Susan was out of town for a couple of days and that she would be in touch upon her return. At no point did either present employee of the store apologize for the quality or the experience and I had to actually prompt Alma whether they wouldn't want to take a photo of the tulips to show the owner. It has now been nearly a week since Valentine's Day and no one has bothered to follow up nor refund my husband's card. Several years ago was the last time we used Colony Florist and the experience and cost was similarly dismal, although we never posted a review. I regret that we gave them a second chance and would never recommend this florist. Flowers look nice. Communication was poor and so final product was off. Two problems. I ordered a corsage specifically for a 7 year old 2 days in advance. Corsage was created for a normal sized wrist and was told they'd have to take the whole thing apart to fix it, but not enough time, so they told me I'd have to pin it myself. So I'm stuck with something that looks nice, but I have to fix in order for it to function. Second problem my daughter does not like the color pink, I don't know why, so I ordered her lavender roses. They gave me pink, although the woman at the front tried to tell me they're definitely lavender. So I confirmed with multiple people (because who knows, maybe I'm color blind) that they're definitely pink, If they'd have offered to fix the mistake I'd have given at least another star, but it was like I was putting them out. read more

My mother passed away unexpectedly, last week, and several of the standing sprays, plants and vase arrangements all came from Colony Florist. I did order the casket spray and two matching easel sprays from them and asked for pictures once they were completed (of which they gladly obliged and texted me). I am VERY picky and wanted to make sure they were just right. In addition to those and some green plants, a couple of friends sent two exceptionally beautiful vase arrangements. I only found five that had been reviewed in the Houston area (perhaps others were hidden behind a Romulan cloaking device) and they were all parsecs away from her work place. I know that it's like making an alliance with the Klingons, but I reverted to Google and landed on a local florist - Colony. I called them and got a very pleasant woman on the phone. I told her the occasion, gave her a price range and asked her to help me design an appropriate bouquet. Since only Vulcan women are logical, I figured my bride wouldn't mind if I splurged a bit. The lady on the phone was very helpful. She suggested several blossoms we could include and ensured that roses were prominent in the display. I took her lead. In a mere minute, we'd co-designed a solution and she assured me she could get it to my wife at warp speed in less than an hour (before we met for lunch). Like a phasor on stun, they delivered a stunning bouquet and, for the moment, I will live long and prosper. I paid for the premium arrangement, and all she said was "all of my money was there". That doesn't make up for the absolutely horrendous flower selection. Florist made poor explanation of an excuse that the photo was only a "one-sided" flower arrangement, so arranger decided to disperse with more green fillers. We popped into this shop on a Saturday afternoon to get a custom bouquet of flowers for my mother in laws birthday. They did a fantastic job of showing us the different flowers and what would pair best with the vase we planned on putting the flowers in. They even were able to incorporate a crystal hummingbird decoration into the bouquet. Amazing service and amazing arrangement. Would definitely recommend this place for your flower needs! read more

Keep looking.... I called this place from across the country to get some flowers delivered for a friend in Houston. I said my budget for the flowers was about $40. They also have a seperate delivery charge which I already knew about. I mentioned some roses in the arrangement would be nice. The lady who answered the phone basically freaked out when I said I wanted roses in there and she said the arrangement would be tiny since roses are $6 each. The lady on the phone was stuck up and honestly, seemed kind of dumb. Okayyyy....fine. I mentioned they had plenty of $40 bouquets on their website which have plenty of roses in them. She then said they had different colors of vases so nothing would match. At this point, I felt like I was getting nickel and dimed. I don't like being made to feel like a cheapskate over the phone either when I am trying to cheer up my friend. Times are tough now. If you plan on picking flowers based on their website photos you may end up disappointed. I paid $90 for the deluxe arrangement, which my wife said it definitely wasn't and two birthday balloons that the delivery person lost in the lobby. The pinks are totally different, those colors don't mesh well at all like in the website photo, though a few of the Lillie's haven't bloomed there's more green filler than anything and it gives off a funeral vibe more than a birthday. Arrive in style?...I beg to differ. Had I known this is how they'd look in person I most certainly wouldn't have chosen that arrangement. I write good and bad reviews as deserved. I had visited a florist on Friday to pick up a corsage ordered for my son's prom. The corsage was horrible and he needed it tomorrow. His mom found Colony florist through another mom at his high school and she went immediately and ordered one for $10 less than the other place and we could pick up the next day a few hours before prom. I was truly impressed by the service and the corsage. It was stunning compared to the one I had wasted $45 on. It was $35 had 7-8 nice small white roses surrounded by luscious greenery. I really was blown away by the difference. I found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and yet down to business as they were very busy. This is my new florist going forward. read more

Yesterday I sent my friend a premium level floral arrangement from Colony Florist. This is the highest priced level for their arrangements. My friend sent me a photo of her floral arrangement & I was appalled! It looked more like the regular level and instead of using all fresh flowers like the photo on their website they added a bunch if greenery. I heard of florists pulling this stunt and now I know for sure it happens. I complained to the manager and asked for a replacement arrangement to be sent which they did and honestly it really does not look any better. They took out the greenery and added more flowers but the flowers do not look fresh and the arrangement has no style like I expected from the photo on their website. I would do better going to a grocery store floral department and it's much cheaper. It's a good idea to ask the recipient of the flowers to send you a photo so you can make sure they received what you ordered. Needless to say I will not use Colony Florist again nor will I recommend. read more

Even though I know they were trying close, they were very compassionate, patient and took my order. I left the order up to their good judgement based on the budget. The plant that was delivered surpassed my expectations. My friend sent me a picture of it. I'm very grateful they answered the phone at such a late hour and made the next day delivery for me.
