Best salad pizza I've had since Rosa's on Fresh Pond Road in Middle Village, NY. At $12.95, you get fresh lettuce, tomato, shredded carrots, and sliced cucumbers on top of a thin crust pizza drizzled in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. You can also get the salad pizza with just cheese, just sauce, both, or neither. I recommend the sauce only option. The Milford location looks deceptively bigger than the one in Fairfield. Love their tributes to first responders and military personnel; the walls are filled with many framed portraits of them. Oh the nostalgia. I've been going to the original Stamford Colony since I was a kid. The hot oil or onion pizza have aways been my go to's. The onions are nice, thin, and sweet. The hot oil has the perfect amount of spice and is available at your table or small to go containers. The thin crust pizza has a nice crunch to it and not too filling. Love that there are more locations across the state to entertain my Colony cravings. read more

Nope, nope, nope. Just for this location, though-I will stress that!! First off, the manager was very very nice. He came over and spoke with my girls and I. Past that? No. Our server was lackluster. Nice, but very....clearly wanted the tip. My girls enjoyed their standard pizzas....although one of the pies came out 10 minutes after the others-and we stressed we were only eating our own. My biggest issue? Colony Milford is the only Colony where I cannot eat safely!!!! It turned me off years ago, and I won't go back to this one again. I was clear about my Celiac...and I'm still suffering dermatitis and other side effects today, 5 days later. Aside from that-the gluten free crust was completely undercooked. I've only heard great things about this place from friends and family so I decided I had to check it out. Went on a Monday afternoon, few people inside not too busy. My boyfriend and I sat at a booth and we ordered quickly. The waiter explained that the pizzas were personal size, and that if we were pretty hungry one pizza each would be good. My boyfriend ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza while I ordered a pepperoni, sausage and onion. The waiter screwed up our orders at least twice. First of all their one size pies are super small. We went because we wanted their hot oil pie. The pie was very good but we were still hungry so we ordered a sausage pie. So disappointing. They are so cheap with their toppings. One slice had no topping, and the other slices only had one piece of sausage on it. So basically you are eating a cheese pie with a hint of topping on it. The crust is a thin bland tortilla. They are definitely over priced. I was drawn to this place because of a war of opinions. Does salad work as a pizza topping? It sure does. This gem of a place (to which I haven't fully explored it's nooks and crannies) seems to be a converted building of some sort and it does make use of its space. Should the crust just be a holder for toppings? Or is it part of the meal? When it's thin crust it better be eaten because it's thin and crispy! A base pizza is a reasonable price. Especially for one person with a healthy appetite. The toppings are meant for you to add on and on. I ordered a sausage and hot oil. There wasn't much sausage. But if you piled it on, it would then fit perfectly. This is artisanal pizza folks, not buffet appease the humanoids kind of establishment. Appreciate what you are given and it will please ten fold. Delicious pizza! I love the salad pizza here. My boyfriend and I ordered online on a Saturday night around 6pm. He went to go pick up the order 40 minutes later and when he came home we noticed that they messed up my order. He gave them a call, they said to keep the pizza, and that mine would be ready in 15 minutes. Luckily he lives close to Colony! Luckily, they got my order right the second time around. I had a salad pizza with sauce and my boyfriend had a pizza with hot oil, mushrooms, olives, and onions. Both pizzas were awesome! I'm vegan and the salad pizza is so satisfying. I ordered a hot oil pizza and also a sausage with peppers pizza after watching Barstool pizza review. I was not impressed in the least by this overpriced bar pizza. The hot oil was just not good, maybe if you're drinking beers at the bar but, I took mine to go. By itself, no bueno. The sausage and pepper was ok, but definitely not worth the walk over nor the price. Waaaay to expensive. I'm not understanding the hype about this pie at all. The new staff they hired make the hot oil way too hot. I've been getting the same, hot oil pizza for years but only recently has it been this hot. We love their pizza!!! They used to have a store in Avon, CT but it went out of business. So now we go out of our way to come here. Heads up! They only serve pizza! Only one size at that! It's a bit quirky as the menu is on the wall and it's just a list of toppings for your pizza. You get paper plates with your food and no silverware. They serve one thing - pizza - and they do it well. It was obvious that this is a popular place, since all the tables were full when I arrived, and there was quite a line waiting. This was the venue of choice for a get-together the night before a family wedding, so I was able to by-pass the line. We had two long tables in the middle of the bar area, and were crowded around them. The pizzas have very thin crust (almost like a flatbread), with a decent sauce, and about the size of a personal pizza. A good amount of cheese, although, there could be more toppings on them. I managed to sample about a dozen combinations, and this was the only fault I could find - if you ordered more than one topping, there were few slices with more than one on it. Drink prices were reasonable, and the staff was quite helpful and friendly. Alas, because it's so popular, the noise level was quite high, and it was difficult to hear conversations (the high ceilings didn't help). I would consider going again during lunch or when it wasn't so busy. read more

I've been coming to this place ever since it opened in Milford Connecticut. You can't go wrong with a pizza from colony! My favorites are the hot oil pizza with bacon and onion, or the salad pizza with sauce and cheese underneath. As many know, this isn't your traditional pizza. It's a thin crust that taste really good. A helpful suggestion would be to ask for the to be double cut. The pizza is so tasty you will want to eat the whole pie, and at least when it's double cut you feel like you're eating more. I also recommend sitting outside if it's warm enough. read more

What I really like is that cheese goes all the way past the crust (almost like a crustless pie) which makes the eating experience that much better haha. Perfect amount of sauce/cheese and toppings when you order. It doesnt have a super thin crust but it isn't thick either, its at a perfect middle ground. A gracious hostess of a small fire pit party we were invited to, catered to us by ordering pies from Colony Grill for the group. We had never tried their pizza before, but were intrigued by their special "Hot Oil" topping, and were grateful for the option of a pie with vegan cheese. We topped the pies with fresh mushrooms, onions, peppers and black olives in addition to the hot oil. It was truly delicious. The crust was thin and properly stacked with toppings, so no flavor overtook any other one. Proper amount of sauce and cheese, cooked on the lighter side. They are thin and crispy and just delicious. We ordered their hot oil on the side and it really gave the pizza more flavor. I would highly recommend going to any of Colony Grills restaurant. Typically when it comes to pizza I prefer a New Haven style coal fired pie, but Colony always has me getting a certain craving for their thin, crispy, cheesey, hot oil pie! How hard is it to bring out a pizza or two to the car? My wife and I were excited to see that Colony Grill had a location in Milford, close to Stratford where we moved recently. Growing up in the Stamford area, we visited the original location many times. We have a newborn and called to see if someone could bring the pizza out to our car since we are trying to avoid going inside places due to the pandemic. We were told "no" we can't do that. Many business have been accommodating and happily bring out items to our car since the start of the pandemic. I'll support another establishment that appreciates the business. My first experience here I was told to order the hot oil pizza and I did not regret it one bit... I have been craving it ever since. It is spicy with a jalapeño in the middle of the pizza. It is thin crusted pizza, a little burnt, but very delicious and light. The pizza comes at a reasonable price, typically around $10-12. There is one size, and I usually have a few pieces left over to bring home because I am stuffed! They only serve pizza, so make sure everyone is in the mood for pizza! I saw a lot of people around me get the salad pizza, which looked very good! I plan on trying that the next time! The restaurant is spacious and modern. It is a great place to go with a group of friends or family. There is a parking lot in the back. The service at the milford Colony wasn't exceptional. Our waitress did not go out of her way at all to introduce us rookies to the kind of pizza colony had. Colony could definitely improve their service. Other than that, the food is great! This is one of the best pizza places I've ever been to. Came here not that long ago and got a pie, no toppings. Was just in the mood for some good pizza. I am always hopeful when going to a new place but you are never sure what you are going to get. In this case what we got was a five star dining experience. First off shout out to the server whose name was Matty and who provided us with some of the warmest, friendliest service we have ever had anywhere. I do not always mention servers names in my reviews unless they are spectacular and in this case he was. Getting great food AND a great server is a major plus. We'd never been here before so we bombarded Matty with questions all of which he answered very cheerfully. So then we get our pizza and it was just fantastic. The cheese had a great very unique flavor and between the two of us we finished the whole thing. Also loved the way it was served. Loved the paper plates. Added to the warm atmosphere about the whole place. I must also mention the decor which was very modern and inviting and just made for a great relaxing experience. We will be back here again soon.
