We came here so excited because it's such a fun, creative activity! I've been here before, but it was my best friend's and boyfriend's first time, so I thought it would make for a cute afternoon together. The activity itself is still really fun, but unfortunately the customer service completely took away from the experience. The employees couldn't have seemed less interested in being there. I don't expect everyone to be overly cheerful, but at the very least, being pleasant and welcoming goes a long way :( The employee helping us sounded like she was reading from a script, with no warmth or enthusiasm whatsoever. Whenever we had a question or needed more paint, it genuinely felt like we were inconveniencing her. It got to the point where we felt like it was better to just figure things out ourselves than ask for help. She had such a blank, lifeless expression the entire time that it honestly felt like she was being forced to work there. Color Me Mine is supposed to be a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience, especially for first-time visitors. Thankfully, the activity itself is enjoyable, but the service and lack of professionalism from the staff really put a damper on what should have been a great afternoon. read more

We recently attended a sip and paint event, and the staff was kind enough to offer us free studio time when we couldn't complete our projects that night. My wife often brings friends, and they can spend hours painting without any issues. I'm surprise they haven't gotten kick out. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive; they're always quick to provide more paint or offer helpful tips. The studio is clean and well-organized, with a vast selection of art pieces to choose from, although the prices can be a bit high. Super cute spot for a painting date! It's in a quaint plaza with Trader Joes and many restaurant options as well. The staff were super nice and accommodating to us as we stayed all the way until closing. The pieces turned out great and were ready in a few weeks for pick-up. I've always passed by this place when walking through South Shore, and I finally got to try it out during their Pajama Night! ---- Pricing: - Studio fees are usually $10 per person, but on Pajama Night, it's only $1 per person - Ceramic item prices vary depending on size and complexity, starting around $20 - I chose a cute mug with little feet and a smiley face for $26.50, and my boyfriend picked a standard 12oz mug for $23 ---- Experience: When we arrived, the staff welcomed us and explained the process, which was super helpful. We picked a table and looked at the wide variety of ceramic items on the shelves to choose our pieces. After selecting your piece, you're given a glaze palette showing how the colors will look after firing. Each color has a number, and you fill out a palette card with up to seven colors. You can either have the staff get your colors or grab them yourself at the back of the studio, where all the painting supplies are located. The studio offers a variety of tools for painting, including brushes of different sizes, sponges, stamps, masking tape, and squeezy bottles. They also have specialty glazes available for $6.50 each. There are two sinks for washing up and a paper towel dispenser. To achieve an opaque and even color after firing, three coats of glaze are recommended. The coats dry relatively quickly but plan to spend an hour or more painting. We spent about two hours painting, but honestly, I could've stayed much longer! ---- Facilities: - Plenty of seating, mostly two-seaters, but tables can be pushed together - There's a larger table in the back for private parties - The space is a bit tight between tables, so walking around to browse ceramics can feel cramped It takes about a week to have your pieces fired and ready for pickup. Unfortunately, during firing, my piece chipped near the handle, but the staff was incredibly kind and offered to reserve the same item for me so I could paint a new one. ---- Overall: This experience was so so fun! You can take as much time as you want to work on your piece, it's a bit expensive but it's absolutely worth it for a unique, personal ceramic. Wow. Such a fun experience. I had been going to Brushstrokes in Berkeley for several years. I think I like this place more, because not only is it not near water and completely cold, but the vibes here are less stressful. When I had gone a couple weeks ago, there were Lots of large groups of kids and families. But didn't seem overly crowded. There were two separate rooms, but connected by some free space. I felt super encouraged by the staff there of what I was doing, if we had any questions, and I love how they have a choice of color palettes rather than relying on us to choose colors. They have more of a variety of items to choose from. The last time I did a butter dish at Brushstrokes, I was in high school and didn't know what I was doing. I am an artist as well, so painting was just another niche I had picked up a while ago. Will definitely be coming back. read more

This place was really cute. It's near the pathway by Applebees and across from the ice cream store. There was planting parking. There were quite a few options of pieces to choose from to paint. The space felt clean and bright. The customer service was also really good. The people were friendly, helpful, and attentive to refilling the pain colors once they ran low. They had kids size aprons and seems to be a cute place to bring kids to do a hands on activity. They said it will take about 7-10 days to get the final piece. read more

Top notch place We had a group of friends that had never been here before. Including myself. It was clean, friendly and very fun. It's a small thing to be able to share a very therapeutic event with each other. Taking people's minds off of the stress of the world, and diving into the painting process that in the end will be very enlightening. We had a very nice time. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't realize they did birthday parties here. There is a back area separate from the main area where they allow large groups. There were so many items to choose from. There is a $10 fee, and you add that on top of whatever pottery piece you choose. My mug was $18. Plus the fee. So it was $28. For a one of a kind personalized item, I find that price completely reasonable. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the paint container. We had to constantly flag down the employees for more paint. read more

We came here for our friend's birthday weekend and it was so much fun to paint together as a group. There's a $10 studio fee to paint at the location on top of the price of the ceramic piece you choose. I picked the shell lantern because I thought if I'm going to be spending $50 total then I need a piece I would actually use in the day to day. My shell lantern was around $31 which is a bit pricey. Most items were priced around the $20-30 range. I chose my palette of colors and we were able to get new colors and refills often. When I first started painting, it seemed like the color kept disappearing so I think I went over with a billion coats before finally getting tired. It's recommended to do at least three coats if you want it to not be opaque. Painting was a lot of fun but being a perfectionist made it also very time consuming. We thought we would spend only 1-2 hours there but we ended up staying four hours. There is one bathroom in the back so you can wash up afterwards if you get paint all over your hands. It takes about a week to have your ceramic glazed in the kiln and ready for pickup. They'll text you when it is ready. I was worried that the inside of my lantern wouldn't be glazed since I didn't paint the inside but they glaze everything so every ceramic piece looks shiny and awesome after glazing. I could tell there were some places I could have done more coats over but now I know better for next time. Would definitely come again for a special occasion such as a date night or birthday. read more

Recently, my friends and I went to Color Me Mine - a cute pottery store where you can pick any ceramics and paints to make your own unique creation. Once you're completed, the shop will glaze your item and put it in a kiln for the finishing touches. It's a franchise spot that I seen at a few locations but I never visited and alway wanted to try. I even used to think this spot was geared more for kids buts it a great spot for any ages and for date nights. My friends and I all had a blast there- we spent well over three hours painting! Painting felt really therapeutic and I enjoyed getting the chance to be creative. The cost was pretty reasonable too for the ceramic (cost varies depending on the piece you pick) and studio fee (set cost to use the facilities and paint and tools).
