Brought my kids and their friends here for my daughters 10th birthday activity! It's such a cute spot to bring the kids and even your adult friends too! I mean, I'd love to come here by myself just to relieve the everyday stress. The girls there were very friendly and helpful. Be sure to make reservations because I can see why it gets busy. You'll have 2 hours to paint and they will let you know when it's ready for pick up! Thinking about this little spot makes me want to go back. There is metered parking you can use the app to pay and add more if needed or find a spot in the neighborhoods. It's a very busy area and a lot of car and foot traffic due to all the local eats and shops, plus the beach around the corner!

TL;DR - absolute cutest pottery place ever i would HIGHLY recommend, i went with 3 friends & although pricy, it was so worth it!!!!! staff is generally nice, once you get your first paints, there's not much interaction

I had a bad experience here and wanted to share it before it was taken down. Please beware -- this is not a conflict of interest but a valid review of the poor experience I received. The college girls working here were rude both over text and in person, and they broke the ceramic box I painted for my birthday. What was meant to be a fun and meaningful experience turned into a disappointing one

    Broken piece

I spent over two hours painting a piece at Color Me Mine, putting real effort and care into it. Unfortunately, before it was even fired, one of the staff dropped my artwork--and instead of taking responsibility or showing genuine concern, the girl laughed when she showed me the broken piece. To make things worse, they didn't offer a full refund or any meaningful compensation. They even charged us the sitting fee as if nothing had happened! Mistakes happen, but the lack of professionalism and accountability here was unbelievable. If you actually value your time, effort, or artwork, I'd think twice before coming here. There are plenty of studios that treat customers (and their creations) with respect--this clearly isn't one of them.

Great date night spot or a GNO event. Even though it was a weekday night, they were pretty busy consistently. We booked a reservation at 5pm and they closed at 7pm. Honestly, I feel like I needed more than 2 hours but there was a lady who finished hers in an hour. So it's possible. I think it depends on the item and how detailed you are. Fun and memorable!

Great group activity! Would be super enjoyable for groups, dates, friends, parents with kids.... Basically everyone. We were debating between this and a wheel-throwing pottery class. Having done a 2 hr pottery class before, this is definitely more beginner-friendly and relaxing, more colorful results, and costs way less per person! I booked a party of 14 for 2 hours so that we could relax and be creative. Color Me Mine was accommodating. Even though we took up a lot of their small space, there were other customers. We mostly parked near the park 7 minutes away and walked over. My colleagues that parked in meter parking had to run out to add time since it was 2 hours max. I think there was a great selection of options within our $28 per person budget. We were all so excited! I think because there were so many of us, they were cool with us getting the paints ourselves. The struggle is that the colors before glaze come out differently so it's hard to know how opaque and what hue the colors really are. But after glaze-- all the colors came out beautifully! I barely completed mine in 2 hours. Our items were fired up and ready to go within 7 days. Love that they come out food-safe as well. They packed everything and labeled everything neatly. We're already planning more group wellness dates here!

This is a fun thing to do if you're feeling pretty artsy. I'm not big on doing any art, but I found this to be pretty calming and Therapeutic. Time does fly when your spending time painting your art pieces. I like that they provide you with all the materials when you do paint the initial clay figure. Afterwards, they glaze it and heat it up to harden it. It's a fun activity to do on occasion to flex your artistic muscles. I'm definitely not a artistic person, the the end results seem pretty decent. Parking could be difficult as parking usually is on 2nd street. The price was a little on the expensive side, but considering that you pay a flat rate for the materials/glazing/heating process leaves just the actual items you decide to paint as what dictates the variability of price. Overall, a fun activity to do!

Came here for my birthday and had an excellent time. It's kept very clean and does its best in a small space to fit as many customers in as possible. The staff is very friendly, though I do wish they spent a little more time explaining the process but it was pretty busy the day we went. Also as a tip, I would maybe call and ask what items they have to paint because I was really looking forward to painting a plate, but on the day we went they did not have them out on display. Overall a super fun and relatively well priced activity to do with company!

Love this place so much! I can't get enough of color me mine it's so fun, especially for events with friends. I went for my 22nd birthday and made a reservation online which was super easy. The vibes were good and the employee was super nice. It's also not that expensive. I can't wait to come back!!

This place is a great example of being wise with your business space. They have a small front desk, an area to display the paints that you may need in case you need more paint for your project. It's a great treat to do with some close friends or family.

Earlier this June was a first time visit for me to a Color Me Mine. The lasting impression: It's fairly cramped inside and parking in the area is terrible (especially on a Saturday afternoon). My daughter's Girl Scout troop used two large tables towards the back. Had all of our members shown up we would have need a different set up and/or more elbow room. The photos I took were after a few girls left. Getting more paint took a while at times as there were only two employees tending to a few different groups and working the register, etc. We were allowed to bring snacks and drinks plus celebrate a birthday with cupcakes. It seems like a cool place for birthday parties *if* you want to shell out the money per child because it can get fairly pricey real quick. The employees didn't really interact with the girls much at all. I suppose because they think all scouts are independent and not needy like those *other* kids. Lol. (Totally kidding.) They seemed a little overwhelmed (I guess). In my opinion, it's more suited for a fun, personalized way to create a gift for someone. Just remember it takes about a week or so before you can pick up your item(s).

When we arrived, they told me there is also a mandatory 18% gratuity. First, that is legally supposed to be disclosed clearly and in advance which it was not. The kids picked out their paint colors and then we found out that your location was out of (six) different colors that they wanted and they had to settle for less appealing options. The attendants were slow to replenish the paint and acted like it was an inconvenience, even though they were getting a "mandatory gratuity". They could have been nicer and more friendly. One of the colors they "replenished" was not the same color as we got at the beginning even though we asked for the same color # and the attendant even checked the # to make sure, and one of the kids ending up having two different colors of paint in one section of her ceramic piece that she was really disappointed about. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

It does get really busy,…read moreso a reservation (or at least calling ahead to see if they can hold seats on the day of) is pretty much a must. The Brea location has more seating than other locations I've been to, which makes it a bit more forgiving if you try to do a walk-in. Reservations are made online and cost $5/person, which goes towards your total. From a large palette, you choose five colors. Sometimes if a friend and I want to use the same color, we'll just put it on one person's plate, which ends up giving us more color options overall! There's also a guide on each table with tips for different ceramic painting techniques. There's a cup of various styles and sizes of paintbrushes, and you can also request for a thin bottle for writing or detail-work. You get two hours to paint, but I've never felt rushed with either picking my piece or during the actual painting process. The staff here are always so attentive, courteous, and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. I've noticed that when it gets super busy and you need a paint refill and someone hasn't come by, don't be afraid to raise your hand or walk over to someone, everyone is super friendly. They have a great selection of pottery, and you just pay the price of your piece plus the flat studio fee. The space is clean, and I love that they also offer outdoor seating. Since it's right in the middle of downtown Brea, it's fun to people watch and enjoy the vibe outside on a warm day. They'll occasionally have special events or deals too, like student nights with a discounted studio fee. With its central location in downtown Brea, it's such a perfect spot to catch up with friends, celebrate a birthday, or have a cute date!
