If you're looking for an interactive and creative activity, I recommend Color me mine!! I love coming here for painting pottery. Prices for the pottery pieces can vary depending on the complexity and size of the piece you choose. The staff is super nice and they also have a great variety of paint colors and ceramics you can choose to paint. This is a great activity for all ages! You get 2 hours to choose and paint your ceramic. The time certainly flies by! This spot is reservation only so make sure you make your reservation online. Reservations for weekends go quick so I'd recommend booking your desired date earlier rather than later. They do require a deposit upon booking but that's applied to your final payment so you don't end up losing money to reserve a spot. They fire the pottery for you afterwards and you can pick up usually around a week later which is a pretty quick turnaround! I'd definitely come back sometime to paint other items. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and cute activity in NYC!

This was such a fun experience! Color Me Mine is basically a pottery place that lets you pick out your items (from a variety of plates, mugs, coasters, piggy banks, and, small figurines.) Your reservation will last for 2 hours and within that time you are expected to paint your item. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They throughly explained the process and what to expect during our stay. They told us a few tips when painting our ceramics, such as applying multiple coats of paint and making sure all brushes are DRY. Do not paint with a wet brush because your item will crack! They also walked around to check in on us and refill our paints. Since we went on a Thursday, it was "Ladies Night" and our studio fee was waived! All we had to pay for was for the items we picked out, which was already partially covered by the reservation deposit. After that, it takes about 1-2 weeks for items to be glazed and ready for pick-up! I loved how my piece turned out and the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this outing with friends or a date! It's such a cute activity and you can chat while painting. Plus, you leave with a little momento.

This place was amazing! I met up with a friend who I hadn't seen in a minute to destress and paint and just catch up. Before going, I was honestly doubtful of my painting skills, but the environment in this studio is definitely very relaxing. It was really fun to just paint and chat, and this place even has the option for BYOB! You get two hours for the reservation, so it's more than enough time for you to finish painting a full ceramic. The one thing to note is that after you finish painting, it will take around a week for Color Me Mine to laminate the piece and you will have to come back to pick it up. Will be back 100%.

I highly recommend this place for friends who like handicrafts‼ There are many different ceramics and paint colors for you to choose. There will be a paint board on the table, and those colors are the colors after firing. I went to the one in Chinatown. The brother and sister in the store will help you get the paint. You can draw with a pencil first and then use the paint, so it is not easy to make a mistake. Finally, you have to wait for about a week to get the fired ceramics. The first few pictures are before firing, and P6-7 are after firing Price: It is about 30-40 per person, depending on which ceramic you choose (there will be a price under each ceramic). They also have a studio fee of 13, but there are activities every week. It is recommended to go on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (see Figure 8). How to make an appointment: You must first make an appointment on their website to guarantee a seat. Time: There is a two-hour limit, which will start from the appointment time, so don't be late~

First time here for peri-birthday celebrations, and I'm already thinking about the next time I want to come back!! It was pretty easy to make a reservation online, which requires a $20 deposit. Reservations are preferred. Walk ins only available if seats aren't already booked. They have specific time slots and have varying hours weekday vs weekends. It's $13 for the session + whichever pottery pieces you paint. Also BYOB! Upon arrival, they take you to your table with your name. There is a wide variety of pieces to pick from, ranging from dinnerware to mini statues. You're asked to start with 5 colors but can ask for more. Staff will bring you your paint but otherwise you're in charge of getting other supplies like brushes and stencils. They have a good range of colors and good display of how colors would turn out with 1 vs 3 coats. For 2 hours, I felt like the pacing was appropriate, although timing may vary depending on your design. Staff were pretty attentive and explained things clearly. They were helpful with questions and knowledgeable about pottery/paint. They inform you of the date when your pottery will be ready by and can hold it up for a month. There is a flat delivery fee too. FYI the paint is microwave+dish washer safe, and I think pieces are already coated with a white base color so you don't need to paint it again. Overall, I had a fun time and everything went smoothly! Great option for date night, family time, or team bonding!

Great place to go to spend a couple of hours on a fun project. They provide everything you need. You choose the ceramic item that you want to paint, sit at a table and they will bring you the paint. After you are done, you leave the item with them and they will glaze and finish it and it will be ready to be picked up in about a week. They accept walk-ins for smaller groups but reservations are recommended.

I'm surprised I never wrote a review for this place. I have been here twice now and each time I had a great time! I highly recommend Color Me Mine for girls night, date night or if you just want to paint pottery. First you need to make a reservation in the website because they sell out quick, I booked a month in advance (it's a $20 deposit). Once I arrived, I went to the table with my name on it and got set up. The pottery piece I chose was a small elephant bank and my friend decided to design a mug for herself. You're allowed to pick 5 colors with 1 being a base color. The staff are all very kind and informative, they were always there to help if I needed anything. They will send you a email and call you a week after your visit to pick your piece up. You have ONE MONTH to pick up your piece. Overall, it's a very nice experience and I would definitely come back with my boyfriend.

Super fun place and Thursdays is lady's night, meaning the studio fee is waived for women and you pay just the cost of the ceramic item. Most items are $20-$40 and you can use up to 5 different glaze colors at a time. If youve never worked with ceramics, you should know the color of the paint before firing (at really high temperatures) is usually pretty different than the end result so don't let that concern you! The day we went it was all booked so they weren't taking walk-ins. Also, each appointment is done in groups so if you show up early you won't be able to be seated until the appointment time. 2 hours was enough for me to do three layers of paint for everything I wanted, and I also tried to do just one layer for the part about the veins for a cool layer effect and hope it doesn't fire into something too opaque.

Another fabulous day at Color Me Mine! The staff was super friendly and helpful explaining not only the directions but also showing us tricks with stencils. While this place is quite pricey for the actual Ceramic pieces, I always have so much fun here. It's a great place to bring kids to be creative. The only noteworthy item is that you now need to make reservations on the weekend. In the past, you could just walk in but now it is too crowded to do that. Make your reservations online so that you don't have to wait around. It usually takes about a week before your final piece is ready for pickup. I will post the results when I get mine back.

Color Me Mine is such a fun hidden NYC gem! Right now on weekends, they are reservation only. I was able to book a Sunday afternoon reservation just a few days in advance. It felt very covid safe - when you check in, they check your proof of vaccination and temperature, direct you to wash your hands before touching anything in the studio, and the tables are spread apart. The first step is to pick out a piece to paint - they have tons of options from bowls/mugs/plates to vases to seasonal items. Once you choose, you pick your paint colors. They have a tile at the table showing how all the colors look finished with their numbers. You choose 5 paints to start, but you can pick more colors as you go. They also can bring over bigger cups of colors if you need more of one (like for base colors). There is a "design center" that has stencils, sponges, stamps, etc to enhance your designs, and they have a blow dryer available to help speed up the drying process between layers. Everyone working here was so friendly and helpful, and it was overall a very fun experience. Can't wait to see how the pieces turn out!

Super fun and therapeutic afternoon painting pottery. You have to make a reservation in advance for a 90 minute slot (even if you are late, you only get that time period, so if you're late by 30 minutes, you'll get 60 minutes as they're quite strict on people leaving on time). You first get to walk around their shelves and look for a pottery piece that you like. They really range in size, but I'd say a very small knick knack like a tiny eiffel tower statue would cost around $12-18, whereas a slightly larger item like a small vase or mug will cost $22-28. They have people around who will get the paint colors you want for you - paintbrushes, stencils, stamps etc are provided, and you basically spend the rest of your session painting away. You're also only seated with others from your party. Afterward, you pay for both the session + your pottery. The session was ~$13 or so and my pottery piece was ~$22, so all in, it was ~$35. Quite a fun afternoon, and you even get to bring home a piece! I'd just note though that it takes a week for them to fire up your piece, and you have a month to come back and retrieve it.

Going on my 3rd visit here and each time has been a wonderful experience. Upon entering the staff is super welcoming and direct you to an open table which will already have the materials needed to paint ready. The ceramic pieces range in variation and prices which is pretty affordable. It's a great spot for a date night or activity with friends/family/kids. Love how creative you can get with your pieces. Pro tip: there is a session charge for about $15pp and Thursday is "ladies night" which one can BYOW no additional cost.

What really sealed the deal for me was the ability to paint and leave with your masterpiece on the very same day. It was super important for the kids to take home what they worked on; waiting a whole week for a pot to cure and dry is something we can save for a future birthday. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. There were other kids happily making soap, and the woman who greeted us kindly explained that we could pick whatever we wanted to paint. Once we selected our items, we paid and were set up at a table with paints, brushes, and an apron. I'm so glad she made sure we knew the paint didn't wash out of clothes. Pro-tip: Even if you're not painting, wear the apron. Trust me, your shirt will thank you for this advice! The kids had an absolute blast. It was so interactive, and once they finished, they had blow dryer stations so we could dry the paint. The best part? They took the painted items to the back and made them all shiny! This place is a definite hit. And I hear it's fun even for adults with no kids in tow. Girls' night, anyone? Sign me up!

Fortunately, the number of stars that I had for each experience was five. The first time around I painted the Cinderella figure and my mother painted the pumpkin figure. The second time around we painted mugs. The two projects required two different types of paint. Unfortunately, the prices are kind of insane. The Cinderella figure was $49.99 plus tax, the pumpkin was $29.99 plus tax, and both mugs were $29.99 plus tax. Even though it was expensive I still had so much fun and everything I made came out looking great. Everything my mom made came out looking great. I can see myself coming back, and I can't wait to see what my pieces look like once they're out of the kiln.
