My friend and I were really excited to come here and paint some pottery, but the service we received was terrible. The owner didn't explain anything, other than to pick pieces and start painting, and was too busy to listen or talk to us when we told him it was getting too loud (a party of about 15 right next to us) and that we'd be back to finish tomorrow. We came back at noon the next day and explained, to a different person, that we left some unfinished pieces and described them. She couldn't find them, but told us the owner would be in around 1. When we came back an hour later, we found out that owner man washed them. Why? Because he was too busy doting on the party to explain anything to us and assumed we weren't coming back because we didn't pay. Of course, we would have gladly paid on the first day if we had been asked to but, alas, we were not. All of this would have been semi-acceptable if the manager didn't get rude and raise his voice to us. That's just not how you should speak to anyone, let alone a customer. read more

I LOVE this place! Despite the fact that it's pretty expensive to do a Color Me Mine session,(you have to pay for the supplies, actually being there, & the actual thing you're painting - est. $30-$60) it was a nice experience to do once or twice. I went here with my boyfriend since he had a $30 gift card. It was really fun to do and your creative juices start to flow. My boyfriend picked a basketball piggy bank for his nephew & I chose a cup with an opening on the bottom (for cookies I assume). The cup was about $20 & my boyfriends piggy bank was about $30. The workers there are incredibly helpful. Since this was both our FIRST times doing this, they were very clear and explained everything we needed to know. They constantly checked up on us, asking us if we needed more paint of a particular color, or more brushes, or just to see if we're doing alright. They also gave us advice to make sure the end product will look nice. Advice: -Don't be afraid to put numerous amounts of coats of paint on your dish or item (I mean you're being charged for it, you might as well make sure it's dark enough) -Use the fine tip small bottle (needle top) to write particular words or to outline things -Great for parties for small children -Grab as many brushes as you need (different sizes) Would I come back here again? Maybe if my friends have their children's birthday parties here, I would definitely tag along or invite myself so I can experience this again! read more

This is my first and LAST time I'll go to Color Me Mine. This was suppose to be a fun girls' day with my young niece. The actual experience of choosing our item and painting the items was fun, but nothing to brag about. The drama began when I tried to pick up my items. 1. Half of my items were completed. Drove an hour one way to get them and job wasn't done. The receipt said they would be done on the day I went to get them. 2. Was asked if I received a phone call informing me the items weren't done-- NO! 3. Had to wait another 5 days (after the date given to me) for other item. 4. talked to Evan, the owner, and he knows nothing about his business policies. Said they don't always call customers informing them of unfinished work, then said they can' t guarantee items will be done on the date provided (why bother to give a date then?), told me he can't compensate me for wasting gas driving up (only offered free shipping to ship my item- would I have had to pay that if I wasn't complaining???), can't tell me what is proper procedure of informing customers items weren't done, and then told me nobody has complained before. That last one sent me through the roof!! So in all....STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!! Nice to know I WASN'T the only one to complain...wish I thought of yelping this store before going. read more

Came here on the first Friday of the month. They have $1 studio fees, 11:15 closing time, a jazz band and they allow you to bring your own beer/wine. I definitely recommend this for a date night or girls night. It is a super relaxing thing to do especially with the jazz band there. I looooved the band. It made the painting experience that much better. It was great because some of the members of our group decided not to paint, but they loved the fact that they had another form of entertainment, the band. The entire staff was friendly and came around with fresh water numerous times. Don't be afraid to ask for help as it can be overwhelming the first time. Tip: Make sure to make a reservation!! They give you roughly two hours to paint your piece so be aware of the time. You don't have to finish it that day, you can always come back another time and finish painting your piece. It takes roughly a week for your piece to be ready for pick up. Give this place a try. It is definitely not just for kids/teens. read more

We came here for my friend's birthday party. Yup, she's 28. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. And considering the size of our group, and our constant demands for more #27 paint, they were really great. There's a great selection of items to chose from -- from little garden gnome banks to ceramic vases to large display platters. Sure the place is more on the pricey side, but you're coming from the experience. And though I would have never thought so before, this activity is sooo relaxing. Getting to paint your own ceramic and not have to be a pottery expert is a lot of fun. It's $10 a person to sit and use paint. $5 extra per special paint. And the price of your ceramic. A mug is $13 - $18 . A bit pricey but fun for experience. Pick up your finished piece in a week and use it to eat and drink. read more

They were very accommodating and helpful. Prices are decent ($16-$40 depending what you pick and $20 supply fee). Takes about a week for your painted work to be done and you get 30days to pick up. My family and I went here (me, my sister, two parents) as a suggestion from another friend of ours. It was a Saturday, and we did not schedule an appointment. There were plenty of seats open, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The manager greeted us the moment we came in, and told us how the system works, as this was our first time here. You pay an entrance fee (I forgot how much), you pick an item you'd like to paint, and then you choose from their colors and paint it. The item will be fired in their kiln and ready for pick-up Thursday. I believe they actually have two days a week where they fire the kiln. I picked a set of four coasters, they were $25. After everyone in our group picked an item, the manager called us over to the paint stands. He gave us some tips, and told us where the stamps, stencils, etc. were. He was very friendly. We spent almost 5 hours there, and in the middle, they switched shifts. A young lady came and took over. We left a HUMONGOUS mess behind, but she told us not to worry about it and leave it, she'd clean it. On Thursday we went to pick up the items, and they turned out wonderfully. I am VERY pleased with how they came out. You are allowed to bring food and drink into this store. The table next to us brought Subway in and the manager didn't say a word. They have a rather large selection of paint, and next to each bottle, they have a small tile that shows you the color after it was put in the kiln, That was very helpful to us, because the color of the paint and the actual color are two very different things. As of objects you can choose from, they have a section for kitchen (plates, cups, coasters, etc.), bathroom (sponge holders, soap holders, etc.), kids (cartoon character statues, fairies, etc.), and a miscellaneous section (surf boards, masks, etc.). It is a little pricey, but most stores like this are that way. This is the first time I have every gone to a paint your own pottery store, and overall, I am very pleased and can't wait to go again! read more

Brought my son in for both of our first time. We were acknowledged by a girl who was helping another customer, she asked me a question so I spoke directly to her. Another girl (very rude) said we'll help you over here did you have a reservation? I told her no as the website said that there were walk ins. She said we do but I just took 4 walk ins now and I won't have a table u til 430, over 2 hours. I asked her how come it doesn't say that on the website or give you an option to book a reservation online, she said you have to call and it does say it you have to look for it. I'm not quite sure how this place has only 3 stars. If you don't like the pricing, well then don't do it but don't complain about it. Lindsay, was an absolute doll. She helped my 7-yr old niece and I through every step of the way, from color choices, to drawing, and she even answered all 1000 questions that my niece asked her. I don't know how she did it. This place is a great experience, and its really meant for all age groups. Fun place to take your little ones! I took two of my little cousins here and they had a blast! I came on a Tuesday when they had half off their studio fee. I was kind of disappointed from their selection of ceramics. They didn't have the unicorn from Despicable Me. I went to check out the one in Chino Hills and they had a huge variety! So once you choose your ceramic, you then choose what colors you'd like to start off with, because the palette only holds five colors max. Other than that, you can ask for more palettes and use as much colors you'd like! They have stencils and markers you can use on your ceramic! They also have a variety of paint brushes! After you've finished painting it takes a week to finish glazing and adding some finishing touches! There's a parking lot that has 90 minutes free, but it'll definitely take longer than 90 min. Definitely a fun place to be, just a little pricey. Staff was very attentive, she was always refilling/replacing our water! read more

My partner and I came here once an a 12-hour date. We did not spend the entire 12 hours at Color Me Mine, we did a bunch of different stuff -- first, my partner picked me up at around 10am. Then, we went to Descanso Gardens, which took about 50 minutes to get to from my mom's house near Brentwood. After this 50 minute drive, we spent a few hours perusing the gardens. I remember that my partner forgot to put on sunscreen! That can be very dangerous! After we were finished at the gardens, we weren't quite sure what to do next, so we did a couple of things -- we got boba, we went to the park to read a bit, we had sushi, we had Italian food, we went to a bakery at night. To finish off the night, we made out in the car in a lookout spot in LA for three (3) hours. Anyways, the color me mine was wonderful! They were very pleasant and nice! I made an egg and my partner made a pig. My partner still has the pig in their dorm room and I still have the egg. It's on my desk. We came back a week later to pick up our clay items. That was another date. We probably made out then, too. Finally, my partner dropped me off at home at my mom's house at 10pm. read more

I came here with my boyfriend for the first time yesterday and I was super excited until the girl helping us pointed us to where we would be sitting. At first I didn't think much of it (they sat us right next to the restroom). I thought oh they were probably full since my boyfriend made a late reservation. But then I overheard one of the workers ask a couple who had just came in if they had a reservation. The couple did not and they were seated at a bigger, well placed table NOT right next to the restroom. Luckily (and she's the only reason im giving this place 3 stars and not 2) a worker let us move to a different table. Aside from that we had a fun time painting our mugs. All the ceramics are $14+ which is a little overpriced to me but I guess the experience was worth it. They also had live music which was WONDERFUL. I didn't get the name of the musician but she was great! I would consider returning again but I do highly recommend that the staff do a better job at assigning the tables. read more

My sis and I (she's 23 and I'm 28) met up for lunch and afterwards, we were planning on going to a coffee shop so we can chill and chat but we passed by Color Me Mine and jokingly she said, "let's just go here!" but what she didn't expect was me agreeing. So we spent 2 hours or so here and it was REALLY fun! We talked, painted and laughed the time away. I thought we would be the only adults there but I was happy to see a few tables of adults (and a bunch of kids too) just painting their pieces and having simple, creative fun.
