This is my first review. I normally wouldn't post a review, but seeing that someone gave it only 1 star, I feel that I must. I have used Colorado Cat Clinic since 2001. My cat, Tasha, at the time had an eye condition that four other veterinarians mis-diagnosed. The first exam lasted a long time and Dr. Munck was determined to figure out what the eye condition was. She placed drops in his eye and took him into a completely blacked out room. She was able to find what no one else had. The correct medications were prescribed and the eye condition went away within one month. She continued to see Tasha until 2012 and cried and comforted me when I had to let him go. I have loved and lost three cats in the past fifteen years, and Dr. Kristen Munck has been by my side for every one of these losses. One loss was my barely one year old tabby who had everything wrong with him inside. It killed me to make the decision to put him down at such a young age, but we had tried everything with him. She assured me that she would have made the same decision. She was there when my Tasha didn't know how to react to losing his buddy. She gives amazing advice and I trust her completely with my cats. Until she retires, I will continue to only see Dr. Kirsten Munck and recommend her to friends. I have gone to many veterinarians over the years in California and Oregon. I can tell you that there are not many practices that care as much as Dr. Munck does. To her, it is personal. You and your cat are her clients, not just a number. If you are still not convinced, tell me this, how many veterinarians do you know who would receive a message from their daughter while they are skiing to call back a distressed owner (me) over an allergic reaction. She met me in the office within an hour and a half and removed a weed from the back of the throat of my cat. He had an allergic reaction to it and was experiencing breathing issues. Medication was given and basically I had "epi-pens" on hand for any future episodes. I could go on and on but the decision is yours. Just know that this is a cat-only vet practice. While you may think "doesn't she like dogs?" You may be surprised to learn the answer to this. Ask her when you take your cat in for it's first exam. Prepare to be awed! read more

I first visited Colorado Cat Clinic several years ago with my prior cat. I had a good experience back then, so I took my current cat there today for the first time. I appreciate the dog-free environment, as putting my large cat in a cat-carrier is a terrible ordeal for both of us. Dr. Munck's waiting room is soothing, quiet, and dog free, so that I can transport him there securely wrapped in his blanket and then sit in the waiting room with him on my lap rather than stuffed in a box, which is much less traumatizing for him & for me. A previous reviewer stated they were off-put by Dr. Munck's habit of being seated on the floor while discussing the care plan. I actually appreciate her floor-sitting for two reasons: 1) Making yourself small by being seated on the floor allows my cat to feel less threatened by a stranger's presence (as any cat person should know); and 2) I am grateful that she is willing to take the time to sit down while discussing our cat's health & care plan, rather than rush in & rush out in a huge hurry. She is down-to-earth, literally as well as figuratively, and that's a good thing, as far as I am concerned. They took Leon to the back room for his shots, wormer, urine sample, and a blood sample, and they got it done quickly. Half an hour after the visit Leon is home & in a good mood, and I'm not sure why I was so scared to take him to the vet in the first place. This was the least drama we have had in going to the vet in the 2 years I have had him. You'd have to be smoking way too much catnip to leave a one-star review for Dr. Munck. read more

This veterinarian and the Clinic is an excellent place to bring your cat. My cat, Thorie, is 13 years old. He has been coming to Dr. Munck's Colorado Cat Clinic for about 10 years, since we moved to Bend. Thorie is a fighter, but the staff is always accommodating. When he had long Persian thick hair, I had to rely on the staff to brush him out. Now he suffers from kidney disease. Dr. Munck is so very competent, compassionate, and resourceful. She always strives for the very best solution in her treatments. I have always been completely satisfied, even grateful, for the care my cat has received. Now during the pandemic, since "cat parent humans" need to stay outside of the Clinic, I see Dr. Mundo coming outside to consult with the caregivers. I receive follow up phone calls when necessary. I recommend Dr Munck and the Colorado Cat Clinic very highly. Generally, I don't take the time to leave reviews but there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about Dr. Muncks' technique. When she sits on the floor, she's getting on the cats level. If you were adopting a new animal, what's the first thing you'd do upon meeting them? .... SIT ON THE FLOOR. I applaud this effort and joined her. It makes the animal feel less intimidating when they are already in a new place with lots of new faces. The "stuffed cat" in the window, is a stuffed animal.... not taxidermy. This is to show how microchipping works. Dr. Munck is not only an amazing veterinarian, but an animal lover. If I had to guess, I'd think she also grew up on a ranch like myself. She took her time with my Toulouse and made sure that she got necessary appointments even if her schedule was already full. Dr. Munck is now my forever veterinarian and I really hope people read this review and disregard the negative comments below -- as they come from a place of lack of understanding. Experience and gut instinct are what kept my two cats alive. That is what you get with Dr. Kirsten Munck. Three years ago we moved here and my cat developed a rare illness what was promptly treated but not diagnosed right away- Dr. Munck was relentless on getting to the bottom of it utilizing her vast network of experts, knowing that she could solve it. And she did. After weeks in her clinic my cat came home. Grateful. When I inherited my mom's cat, he had a host of issues from teeth to liver. Dr. Munck lovingly understood what my mom's cat meant to me. And every illness, including a blocked intestine to enlarged liver were diagnosed, treated and i hope he is now living his best life. My hat is off to Dr. Munck. Leo, my cat, had become lethargic the night before and the next morning he was making howling noises I had never heard before. I called the Cat Clinic and they saw me right away. Leo was suffering from a blockage and had to have surgery. The Doctor did the surgery and then they spent the weekend taking care of him. My cat is old, has some serious health issues, and yet Dr. Munck clearly understands how important he is to me. She has been proactive, extremely supportive and encouraging, and has gone above the expected to keep my old guy healthy and happy. She even discovered a couple health concerns during a routine visit so we could fend off more problems. Dr. Munck is knowledgeable and patiently answers my questions...even when I repeat them. :) The staff is compassionate and kind. I am so happy that Gus and I found this wonderful clinic! read more

My cat is 19 years old (92 in human years) and is doing great thanks to the Colorado Cat Clinic. She was 1/2 dead due to kidney failure and heart problems 3 1/2 years ago when I brought her to the clinic. Thanks to Dr. Munck, her great care and her medication recommendations, my cat is doing amazingly well. She gained weight quite quickly and continues to thrive. I have been with Colo Cat for 13 years now and find Kirsten to be very knowledgeable and thorough. She has left medication at the door for me to pick up after hours, called me on her day off, and makes monthly calls to be sure Haloti is doing ok.. He is my son's cat and she knows how my heart hurts because my son can't be with us right now. She is going above and beyond to help me keep him alive until my son can come home. Her price point might be a bit higher than other vets, but her knowledge of cats is worth it. read more

My cat Twyla did so good here. She usually has to be sedated at the vets office to do her exam and labs because she gets pretty mad. Shes a total cuddle bug at home, but something about the vets office brings out her tasmanian devil side. The girls at the cat clinic were able to draw her blood and trim her nails without sedation. Twyla wasn't happy about it but the fact that they were able to handle her so well and save me money on sedation is just fantastic! I will definitely be returning with my other cat Salem. read more

Dr. Munck is the absolutely best vet one could ever find. She is caring, kind, compassionate, and genuine. We recently moved to Arizona and were unhappy with the quality of vet here. My cat, Henry became suddenly blind and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I called Kirsten for advice, not knowing where to turn. She has called me multiple times with advice and concern and has helped Henry to prolong his life comfortably. When I couldn't get the right medication, she had it overnight shipped to us. I am so grateful for the team at Colorado Cat Clinic. I took my 2-year-old cat here to establish care because I had a bad experience with my past vet. Bridgette was awesome on intake and very fun to chat with. Dr. M was super helpful, informative, and personable. I loved that she sat on the floor with me and my cat while getting his background information. We took our very old cat (Noodle) to this clinic several times. She got sick right before we moved to Bend and needed to be treated a few times. We received exceptional and knowledgable care here. When we finally had to put Noodle to sleep, the doctor was so kind and respectful of all of us. She was gentle and loving and clearly cared about us. Her staff was great too. When it was discovered on yearly lab work that my cat Booter was diabetic they made sure that I was properly trained and had everything I needed to give my kitty her insulin shots. I must have called a million times with questions and they were always responsive to me and made sure I was satisfied with the answer. They even let me bring Booter back for a 2nd insulin demo so that my pet sitter would understand what to do when I am out of town. read more
