This is the second time I've needed them to take care of a relative small repair. We had someone hit the back bumper and drive off. Our insurance company had us take it to their "approved" body shop an get an estimate. There estimate was several hundred dollars less than Colorado coach. Having worked at a dealership for over 50 years and did my own body work in my younger years as a hobby I'm very familiar with how difficult it is to paint a pearlescent tricoat bumper and have it match the body which is metal. When I went to the "approved" body shop I noticed there were almost no cars in their lot for repairs and I only saw a couple of employees in the shop. When I talked to the person writing the estimate I asked how long their painter had been with them and I was told two months that was a huge red flag. The painter at Colorado coach has been with them since they opened. Sean Robertson who wrote the estimate at Colorado coach said they do work with my insurance company. He did an amazing job getting my insurance company to cover their higher estimate and some expensive hidden damage. Which meant it took a little longer getting the car back than originally estimated. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a superior paint match and repair work to use them. PS. I had a front bumper in need of a relatively small repair. The estimate for my car was $1800. Then they upped it to $3000 and when they took it apart raised it to over $6000. When it was done they parked it over the painted parking lines by 2 feet, and then were "embarrassed" to have to call and tell me that another customer had backed into the side of my car, causing significant damage. They had my car over a month and gave me no break on my original bill, despite having promised that they would after they admitted blame for the accident. In fact, they tried to charge me more. But if you have any urgency to getting your car back, you'll need to be proactive. After stopping by for a quick estimate, I brought it in expecting it to take 1-2 weeks; it took 10 full weeks. They discovered additional damage in stages, and it seemed they just sent off the update to insurance and waited to hear back, not following up unless I did, and it seemed to help when I connected some dots. read more

I recently had my first experience with Colorado Coach and couldn't be happier. I originally had a mobile paint repair company (ScratchMaster) fix the quarter sized area of damaged paint on the bumper of my BMW X5. I thought it would be cheaper, faster and didn't want to compromise the factory finish on the entire bumper by having it completely repainted for such a small area. The mobile repair looked great until I had ClearBra installed on the bumper (after waiting 30 days for the paint to cure) and the new clear coat completely failed under the PPF. I had to have $800 of new ClearBra removed from my bumper and watched most of the new clear coat come off with it. (See photos). Complete disaster. Guys, if you're tempted to spot repair a flaw in your paint, I highly recommend taking your car to a full auto body and avoid professional mobile repairs or touching it up yourself. Spraying new paint or clear coat over your factory finish will never last long term. Without prepping or sanding, the original clear coat is just too slick for anything to stick or bond to. And blending in a spot repair is impossible to do without over spraying onto your factory finish. Sixteen hundred dollars in failed paint repairs and ClearBras later, take it from me. AutoHaus of Boulder, who installed the ClearBra for me, recommended Colorado Coach Auto Body because they've never had any issues with installing PPF on their body work. I drove straight over and consulted with David Beck, the general manager. David emailed me an estimate within an hour of my initial visit. I brought in my car the next day and had my car back only three days later! The whole process was incredibly straight forward and convenient, and the final cost was extremely close to my original estimate, but most importantly, my X5 looks AMAZING. I was nervous about the job because the color of my X5 is a custom M series special edition paint color from BMW that I was afraid would be difficult to match. It looks like a solid flat grey in the sunlight but has a metallic/pearl finish upon closer inspection, but when all was said and done, you can't tell that ANY work was done at all. Complete restoration to showroom condition. After waiting another 3 weeks for the paint to fully cure, I returned to AutoHaus to have the ClearBra reinstalled. ZERO ISSUES this time around. Now my fully restored bumper is protected for the long term. Thank you Colorado Coach for taking such good care of me. The entire process was incredibly professional, easy and straightforward. I can't say enough about Colorado Coach!! I had an unexpected mishap at a friends house where a very large tree branch broke off and landed on my car!! I was thinking that is would take months to get into a body shop to get it fixed!! I called Colorado Coach and they were able to get me in within a couple of days after sending them pictures of the damage!! They completed the repairs and I can tell you they did an incredible job fixing every part of the damage!! My car is back to brand new!! The worst. This is the only place I have taken a car for almost 30 years and they had always done a fantastic job.. When my new truck got side swiped I took it here, door fender and bumper. When it was being looked at, I asked Corey if they still only used OEM parts? Yes sr. Initial estimate had OEM parts, the follow up had OEM parts. Replace door, bent jam. fender, bumper and miscellaneous part. Because of the auto strike, finally took it in, a few months later. When i got it home, notice there was no sealant around door. Email Corey and took it back. He said that they forgot to do it form the factory. Brought back and they fixed it. Weather warmed and I started really looking at it. None of the gaps lined up, just garbage work. Took it back and, the tool in the body shop, said that it came from the factory that way, nothing they could do. Fast forward again, changing oil and see a sticker on the inside fender that is not OEM. Try and pull up email files and they are all gone except for the last one where they used AM parts everywhere they could, and just skinned the door, jam is still bent. Somehow they were able to delete all there PDF files from email. Hence all the AM parts are the reason for all the garbage gaps. So if you want to use a shop that has no integrity, word isn't worth anything and will just flat out lie to you. THIS IS IT! I get livid every time I look at there work. read more

Colorado coach did a 10k repair on my Audi. They are horrible with communication. Returned the car to me without a ski rack that was on the car. Brought the car back and then they returned it with a cracked casing on the rear view mirror. I called and asked for them to fix it 3 months ago with no returned call. Prestige Audi has the car now and is repairing their mistakes. They tried to glue the casing after breaking it. read more

What was supposed to take 2 weeks according to them, ended up taking 5 weeks. No communication from them throughout those five weeks unless we reached out first and each time we did reach out it seemed like we were bothering them. BEWARE of this body shop. Although they did excellent body work on a previous vehicle, I trusted them with our other vehicle. BIG MISTAKE. I had received a previous estimate elsewhere-expected 2 weeks. CO Coach started the job mid Jan, 2024. The supplemental estimate was approved, the large check was received from insurance. They would not give us a completion date, then Feb 23 completion. We returned the rental car to find the car was not complete as promised. Then they gave us a second completion date of Feb 29 - then car not be ready. We used up all our insurance benefit for the rental car. The job was completed mid April. I was without a car for 13 weeks! My husband travels for business so I was trapped in my house w/o transportation. The issues with parts is understandable but CO Coach did not disclose prior to taking possession of the car that they were expecting delays of up to a few months for parts from Germany. Since the damage was cosmetic, I would have preferred to know this important fact as I did not need the work done then and could have decided another time frame more convenient for my family. The communication from the shop was awful. Often times, the insurance agent had a different status from CO Coach then the status CO Coach gave me when I followed up afterwards. I got voicemail and had no call backs. CO Coach should not have taken possession of the car until the "know" parts were ordered received. Once they got the insurance check it seemed they just didn't care -WE WERE STUCK with no way to get the car back as it sat idle in their lot. Their lot looked like a storage lot which should have been a clue. We spoke to the owner and he would not do anything for us - he refused to provide any compensation to minimize our loss of use and distress. read more

I got there in 20 minutes, but they denied the phone call had happened and wouldn't give an estimate. One guy just walked away and the other wouldn't even look at me. Two Great Experiences! Now that I've visited twice with a vehicle that was totaled and one that just needed a touch-up, I can say with certainty that this is the place to go for all jobs, big or small! My first visit was in '17 when my Toyota FJ Cruiser was rear-ended. My insurance company recommended Colorado Coach and they did a great job of considerately handling my claims, estimates and eventually filing my vehicle as totaled (which it reasonable was!) For being such a terrible thing to have to go through, Colorado Coach was one of the best vendors I worked with in the process. This year I visited for a couple of minor blemishes on my new 4Runner. I was worried a pro shop might not consult me for such small work, but I was really impressed that they took time to look over the issues, resolve the smallest ones on the spot and give me good consultation on what it would take to resolve the others. Several years ago I wrote a review for this business amd rated it 5 stars based on their professionalism and competence. However when I went there on 4/27/2022 for work on both of our cars, they said it will take 6 months to a year to get the parts for both of our cars, a Hyundai and a Toyota. They also said that they are a manufacturer certifeied body shop for Audi and BMW and they can get parts for those vehicles quickly. I believed their claim on parts delay and was very disappointed and started shopping around for two new cars. But a friend suggested talking to other body shops. So I went to another shop located less than 15 minutes away and they said that they can get the parts within a week. I am very disappointed in lack of professionalism by Colorado Coach Autobody. I would have been fine if they had simply said that they are too busy with the makes they are certified by manufacturers, I would have understood and appreciated the honesty and would have gone to the next shop. But to incorrectly claim there is 6-12 months delay on parts almost made me decide to sell the cars. I am glad I went and talked to a different body shop. I had a great experience with the entire team at Colorado Coach AB. Every interaction I had was purposeful and convenient. The team fixed a dent in my front left fender and replaced my front bumper after someone got intimate with the front driver side corner of my car. Blending was immaculate and paint has performed really well. I recently rolled my fenders and experienced a little bit of cracking on the inside lip, thinking about bringing it in to have it clear coated and sealed to keep it from rusting. We have been in Boulder since the 1960s. We have had many, many good experiences with businesses, but Colorado Coach Auto Body was the exception. I spoke with the office staff, explaining that we were going to pay for the repair out of pocket on our son's car. Our son made an appointment to go in for an estimate on his day off work. The man doing the estimates that day asked if it was an insurance estimate. When my son reaffrimed it was not, the estimator made a series of implausible excuses that only got more absurd when my son told him we had spoken with the office about paying out of pocket. Colorado Coach Auto Body gave us misinformation and wasted our time. They apparently work exclusively for insurance companies who funnel a lot of business their way. (Thereby, they do not have to provide good service or quality work for the car owners). If you read some of the other one-star reviews, it appears that by billing the insurance companies Colorado Coach does not have to stand behind the quality of their work. (Insurance companies just want be shed of the liability, they do not care how long your car stays in the shop, whether your car looks good, or even if it functions properly). Before going to Colorado Coach Auto Body, you may want to ask yourself, do I want a body shop that works for the insurance company to fix my car or do I want the body shop to work for me? read more

Terrible service and communication. It took over 3 weeks to finish the work on my car. Which may or may not be 'too long' - but since they didn't communicate to me at all where they were in the process and when to expect it to be complete it felt like an eternity. The communication back and forth was practically nonexistent unless I initiated the call myself. When I finally did call them the conversation went the same every time - repeatedly asking me who I was, color/make of car, what insurance company.... on hold for 5 minutes. Then a new person would answer the phone and ask me all the same questions again. The body work seemed to come out okay - which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But the mechanical work wasn't quite right. So I had to take the car back again - and now they've had it for an additional two days - with of course, as usual - no phone calls or updates on the status. ugh! read more

I called Colorado Coach Auto Body on Monday, January 23rd & was told to stop by that afternoon & it would take about 30 minutes for them to get an estimate together. We had already decided we would just have them do the work anyway, so we just dropped it off. We still hadn't heard ANYTHING from them so I finally called them that Friday to find out why we (or our insurance company) hadn't heard anything from them. When I spoke to the Estimator, he said he was just getting to it. 4 days to do an estimate is A LOT longer than 30 minutes. After more follow-up and phone calls on OUR part we were told our car would be ready to pick up today or tomorrow. My husband just spoke to them again & they said it won't be ready until next week. The quick review: Overall the service was good. I would use them again. They fixed a front end collision with minor mechanical damage on my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. The long review: I ended up having an accident in Dec. 2012. After reading the reviews for the body shop my insurance recommended, I decided to call the dealer to see if they did body work. The dealer recommended Colorado Coach and I gave them a call. Their staff provided me with an immediate estimate, but made it clear that there could be damage not seen by the insurance adjuster which would make it take longer. I mentioned that I would be going on vacation for three weeks and if they could not get it back to my by the initial deadline, it would have to sit until I got back. The staff had no issues with that and called me 3 days before it was due (it was only supposed to take 8 days initially) and told me that they had to order more parts. My insurance company (Nationwide) tried using aftermarket parts on the vehicle, but the body shop found that two body panels did not fit properly and requested OEM parts for those items. Overall they handled all of the "supplements" that needed to be worked out with my insuance. The company did go above-and-beyond for the body work. For example, I had a small dent on my door where someone had hit me with their car. They popped the dent out without me asking and did not bill for that labor (at least it was not itemized), There were two reasons I did not give 5 stars: They seem a bit disorganized. When I called to drop off my car, I asked if there was a shuttle and they said there was. I needed this since I was going immediately back to work. When I got there, they said the person had just left for the day. After 3-4 minutes they found the person, but it was concerning never-the-less. Continuing on that, when I called to get the status of my car they always had to call me back or ask someone else for details. read more

Colorado Coach Auto Body lacks in everything: Customer Service is non-existent, I was repeatedly told my vehicle would be ready by a certain date and it wasn't, they had a full 10 days to order any needed parts but didn't until I returned from a trip and called to pick the vehicle up, and what is the deal with a $1000 check required up front??? Some nonsense about not being able to put the total on a credit card?? As an aside, they are NOT the only auto body shop in Boulder County that works on vehicles with an aluminum body. Boulder Bump does and they do a much better job. I do not recommend on any level. read more

Let me preface this by saying I had a terror of a time dealing with this body shop. Mark (Owner), David, Tom, and the receptionists made my life extremely difficult for a period of two months while actively "repairing" my vehicle. I was a claimant through an insurance provider--which left me few options in terms of selecting a shop in the local area for repairs. After about 15 or so phone calls/e-mails, I contacted Colorado Coach regarding an estimate. At that point in time (late September) most body shops in the area let me know that the earliest estimate appointment dates they had available would be at the end of October (mind you, that means they would take a look at my car at the earliest a month later). This is the one thing Colorado Coach did well, as Mark responded to an e-mail to let me know I could swing by for an estimate same day. During the estimate appointment, I let Tom know that my vehicle has an interlock device in it (make whatever judgements you will, it's coming out soon enough) in order for the sake of transparency, and to see if it would cause any issues. Tom assured me there would be no issues, and they have dealt with them in the past. For a little bit of back story, I was also hit last year by another idiot driver, and as a claimant through that insurance company I got setup rather quickly for an estimate/repairs with Caliber Collision (Valmont) in Boulder. After discussing the interlock device with them, they assured me there would be no issue, and they only needed one mouthpiece to take care of it (and they also saw it all the time so it was nothing new to them). I dropped the car off the next day after the estimate, and 4 days later my vehicle came out of the shop with absolutely no issues. I attempted to drop off the vehicle for repairs on 10/14 as scheduled with Colorado Coach. Upon my arrival, I paid $800 for parts, gave them my keys, and let the receptionist know I had left interlock instructions for them in case they had any issues. Upon hearing this news, the older receptionist (right of the door) looked at the younger receptionist (left of the door) and asked her to grab Mark because that could complicate things. Upon Mark's arrival, he mentioned having a "guy" who knew how to magically turn off an interlock device. I explained this was not possible, as in the State of Colorado the only time the device is deactivated is when it is physically removed from the vehicle (as it is hard-wired in). I ended up getting delayed to return until 10/21 until the "guy" came back, and chose not to argue with them further. At this point, I also attempted to get a refund for $800 as I considered taking my business elsewhere--the receptionist on the left did not want to give me a refund as the parts had already arrived, and I was essentially locked into doing business with them against my better judgement. 10/21 overall went smoothly, dropped off my vehicle, and once again let them know I had left interlock instructions for them, as I insisted they would not be able to deactivate the device. The next time I heard from them was on 10/28, as Mark requested 3 add'l mouthpieces. To put this in perspective, this requires going out of your way to return to the mechanic that installed the device, and requesting add'l mouthpieces (the add'l mouthpieces furthermore just verifies they could not "magically" deactivate the device as they insisted on 10/14). Throughout the month of November, the insurance company I was the claimant through and I received lies on multiple occasions. They said they were working on repairs and waiting on Authorization from the insurance even though I received e-mail notifications prior saying that my additional estimate adjustment had been approved. My vehicle was also entered into a service lockout on 11/22 (which tells me this is when repairs actually began on the car). From a customer service perspective, this place is just absolutely terrible. They have ZERO accountability, they will lie to you the customer, the insurance company, and will take no responsibility for any delays in the repairs to your vehicle. It took them 6 weeks and 3 days to finish my repairs on an estimate that originally suggested 10 days for repairs to be finished. When you call any of them, they will blatantly give you an excuse as to why it is taking so long--they will either attempt to blame the insurance company and authorizations, or you the customer and your vehicle issues. For the cost (expensive) and length of time it takes to repair your vehicle, I think there are a ton of better options in the Boulder area that will do a better job, and will far surpass this business in terms of communication and contact. I also never received an apology for the delays, or the ridiculous behavior of the employees in attempts to "shame" me for my situation. Sean was as honest as they come when evaluating my MIL's 1997 car that had sustained a bump on the trim under the left front bumper leaving the seam uneven. Since she/we did not know how this had occurred (and thought that it might happen again, i.e. senior driver) we did not want to spend the bucks on a new bumper cover and trim piece (and it is a 19 y.o. car). Sean put it up on the rack then called me to state that he could have it re-aligned and functional for a fraction of the original estimate which thrilled us greatly. We had the most galling experience with Colorado Coach recently. We had gross dissatisfaction with the customer experience. Despite planning well ahead and making an appointment, our car sat for a full week with no attention whatever, then another week of nothing, blaming it on the insurance company, then another week and a half for a repair which was pretty minor. All the while we were not updated on status and treated with disrespect in conversations and with phone calls unreturned. Ultimately, the car was returned with discrepancies. Meanwhile the cost of the repair was blown from about one thousand to over three thousand dollars which seems almost fraudulent. The estimator continued to "blow me off" by not returning phone calls and never knowing what the status was. At one point he told me "if you want to come get the car, you can." When I wrote the owner, it took over a week of non-returned phone calls to speak to him. He barely apologized, While the repair was well done, the frustration of dealing with these people was not worth it. read more

I hope to not need a body work done on my car again but I will definitely go elsewhere if I do. They took a full week longer than they estimated. They did not communicate well - expect when I called the day after I was supposed to be able to pick up my car and they were going to start painting. They are not open on weekends so when they finished my car after 4 on Friday I had to wait until Monday to pick it up. They didn't wash the even the exterior of the car - so I have one shiny panel and can't tell how it matches the rest of the car. read more

My experience. I've had my car for 7 years with no issues. After I had my car wrecked and fixed, I've been having nothing but nagging little issues. Paint is already chipping from front bumper in less than a year of repairs. The front right light keeps bouncing around over every bump I hit. I've already been in once to have that light fixed. They were clueless on what the problem was and had to take it to VW dealership to figure it out. The light still bounces around and sure it will cause it to burnout soon. Remember I've had this car for 7 years and never once had any headlight issues. These are xenon lights which aren't cheap. I've never had any paint chip off my bumper as well. I use my car to make income and now will have to back these guys that will cost me money. The headlight was a used light they find from one of their venders. They will assure they are as good as new. My experience is they are used for a reason and junk. All I'm saying if you have to get your car fixed please research. read more

My State Farm insurance has a big rate increase for 3 years if they pay out over $1000 on a claim. My original estimate from Colorado Coach was well within this limit. They asked me to sign an authorization for the repairs and I wrote on it that I authorized the repairs as estimated but I did NOT authorize anything additional without discussing it with me. They ignored this and charged me more than the estimate, enough to trigger my State Farm rate increase. Both I and and my husband have called numerous times about this, and they have never returned our calls. State Farm even got involved, saying they were happy for us to pay the additional sum out of our pocket, but Colorado Coach did not respond to them either. UPDATE:When this review was published, the owner contacted me, saying he wanted to make things right. I wouldn't recommend this body shop to bring your high end cars. My bumper had to be repainted 3 times and color is still mismatched. Clear coat dripped in hidden areas of the bumper. Communication is not great read more
